Write a reviewOur stay at Dreams RB 11/11-11/18 was wonderful. Preferred Pool View (King) room. Check-in was quick & easy. We arrived at 12noon and our room was ready, so we were in our room within 30-minutes of arrival (with drink in hand). Room was great, A/C worked perfectly as did everything else. THINGS WE LIKED: The size of the resort - it's "smaller" than a lot of resorts, and all the restaurants are located near the beach. The only walking was to Coco Cafe or the nightly entertainment. The staff was wonderful everywhere (one exception, listed below). Service was especially excellent at the Preferred beach, along with staff at Portofino, Fusion & the buffet. The girls at Coco Cafe were awesome each morning. Our butler, Billy, was phenomenal. He checked in with us via text every morning & then also found us each day on the beach or by the pool to check on our needs, from dinner reservations every night, to making sure our mini-fridge was stocked with our favorites. He also arranged for cake, champagne and room decorations/rose pedals for our anniversary! The bar staff at Veranda (where we stopped each evening prior to dinner) and at the Preferred bar in the lobby also were awesome. Dinners were great, we ate at Portofino, Seaside Grill and Fusion 2x each during the week, and also did dinner on the beach at the Beach BBQ. The beach itself is amazing, deep/long sandy beach, fine/white sand. THINGS THAT COULD BE IMPROVED: Preferred breakfast at Seaside Grille. The first morning, it took 15-20 minutes for someone to take our order, and then another 1 hour 15 minutes to get our food?! We were anxious to get to the beach, so this was a major let-down (it was a bit better the other couple times later in the week). The nightly shows were not quite what we've experienced in prior trips. One night was supposed to be a Queen show according to the App. and bulletin board at the resort, only to get to the show and find out it was replaced by a "robot" show. A performer came out dressed like a shark and they started playing "baby shark" (our que to leave). Daily maid service was excellent, but they were not very responsive to requests via the App. Lastly, a young lady from the entertainment team was working the towel hut early in the week. Not realizing that there was a limit of 1 towel per person, I requested another set of towels before heading to the pool, as our towels were wet/sandy. The girl had quite a bit of attitude in telling me I already "had my limit". She certainly could've been a little nicer with how she explained the rules to me. Besides this ALL of the staff we encountered were wonderful. OVERALL, to us these were minor issues and we would 100% come back to Dreams Royal Beach!

My review from my recent stay
Check in was very swift allocated a garden room good size ,large bathroom with little toiletries etc clock by side of bed can be used to charge phones.
Fresh towels daily and they bought us more hangers as many as you want
Food I thought the Buffet was very good breakfast you could get omelettes and poached eggs ,yoghurt fruit ,cereal, bacon hash browns etc plus a good selection of breads and cakes .Plenty of fresh fruits and salads , fish meats ,rice potatoe wedges and more .No problem getting a table at all in the other restaurants
Cafe in lobby is fab for sandwiches cakes hot drinks etc and ice creams
Drinks house wine red white and rose ,Prosecco all ok as far as hotel house vino goes
Cocktails they will make anything and gin , vodka just tell them the brand you want.
Entertainment was enjoyable fire eaters , beach parties etc and the use of casino and disco and secrets bar makes a change
The beach is great plenty of beds and shade the sand is very soft and hardly any seaweed only bad one day after a storm
The sellers on the beach are fine just a no thanks they will go if you don’t want to buy
The only thing we didn’t like was the monkey parrot and lizard carted up and down the beach everyday in the heat for photos please don’t encourage this it’s awful 😞
Swimming pools unless you want a bed nearest the swim up bar area nearest the beach you will struggle but plenty of beds spread out all alongside the other pools and the infinity pool lots empty all day
Check out is 12 and they will look after your luggage and you can use a courtesy shower room before you leave for your flight
Now the staff they are all Excellent-a they work very hard always time for a chat and a smile they are an absolute credit to this hotel

Had a lovely holiday at the Dreams Royal Beach. Couldn't fault the accommodation, service, food, and the resort was so well kept; very Floridian feel to it.
The staff are so friendly and particular thanks to Robert, Maximiliano and Oriel C at the Interlude Bar for great service and cocktails!
And a special mention to Raul in the Portofino/World Cafe for a warm welcome and brightening our day, every day, and going above and beyond.
Gorgeous location, clean beach, plenty of sunbeds, but take your Insect repellent!

Where do I start........we stayed at Dreams from the 01st Aug - 12th Aug and this was for a family holiday and my wedding which was 2 years in the planning. We were a party of 36 and 4 generations of family. We begun the holiday and were impressed with the welcome and the resort however the holiday could not of gotten off to a worse start after the initial welcome. My Mother in law to be slipped at the swimming pool on the very first day and broke her hip which when you consider her being elderly was a terrible blow !
She ended up in a Dominican Hospital requiring surgery and we have only just managed to be repatriated.
Between the travel insurance (Medical Team) and the hospital we had a horrific experience of problems and incompetence. However the hotel were not part of that, I could not of wished for better support, care and consideration.
They were truly amazing in their support for our situation. The hotel Manager (Daniel) and the deputy Manager (Leah) were in constant contact with us offering whatever they could to help. Now some might be cynical and say that wanted to avoid any issues or claims but I never felt anything other than full support and heartfelt concern.
Two of the Concierge staff deserve a special mention in Raquel and Emerly who were amazing to offer help and support for our entire family, even taking upon themselves to visit my Mother in law in hospital in their own time.
They even offered mediation and advice in dealing with the hospital and obvious language barrier.
Thank you both so much, we will not for get what you did for us !
Back to the holiday......we still had a wedding to decide upon and after much consideration my now wife decided to go ahead as planned at her Mothers insistence and the fact that this opportunity may never present itself again. The accident meant that we only had 24 hours to organise the details instead of 4 days.
Unbelievably our Wedding planner Andres pulled off the most amazing day and exactly what we had in mind even beyond our expectations. Despite some poor weather due for the evening reception he managed to move locations in under 4 hours and provide the most magnificent setting and decoration which we believe was much better than the original poolside plan.
He was a lovely warm understanding and hardworking man who we had the pleasure to meet, we truly would not have wanted anyone else to be so closely involved in our marriage !
I must also mention the two coffee shop girls at the lobby Victoria and Paola who helped me everyday for over three weeks to make coffee for my Mother in law, just the way she liked it and to prepare food and treats to get her through her long days and nights in hospital.
Having given all these people deserved credit I have saved the absolute best until last "Billy Sano" you my friend are an absolute gentlemen and somebody the hotel should be very proud to have working for them. If they have any sense then give this guy a promotion !
We were part of the preferred club and as a result you are allocated a Butler, a term I do not like but this is what they are described as. A big man with an even bigger heart and someone I will remember for the rest of my life !
My family had to return home at the end of the scheduled holiday and I nominated myself as the best placed person to remain and care for my Mother in law until we could complete repatriation. This was another 12 days and I can honestly say that I would of struggled without my friend "Grande Billy" !
You are a real gem of a person and helped no end with my incarceration in paradise. Nothing was too much trouble and nothing impossible with your help. Again somebody that I was truly overjoyed to have as an ally and to be closely involved with our Marriage. My wife fell in love with Billy and was very grateful for me to be left behind with Billy as my main man.
I will never forget what you done for me my friend !
I have taken the time to write this review because all that are mentioned were absolutely amazing and gives people looking to visit Dreams Royal Beach an idea of the type of people working at this hotel.
The resort is absolutely lovey and the grounds beautiful but the people make this place outstanding. It is only in adversity that you see the true extent of something and unfortunately this is what happened to us. We still salvaged what we could and had an amazing wedding day and despite what happened I would not hesitate to go back, the only thing I would change is maybe the luck that we encountered but that is with the gods !
Thanks again to all especially Billy and we hope to see you all in better circumstances soon ! x

We have just returned from a wonderful 10 night holiday at the hotel, sad to be home as we could’ve happily stayed longer.
We have had a fantastic time and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed.
This was our first visit to the Dominican Republic but will not be our last. Such a beautiful country and such wonderful people.
The hotel is fantastic. It is immaculately clean and very well maintained.
The beach is beautiful and where we spent all our time.
Our room was big, with a wonderful view over the pool and lazy river. Could not fault a thing.
The food was good. 4 restaurants on an evening. 3 at lunch time and numerous places to gets snacks.
The only problem I had, as a vegetarian, was the cross contamination of meat to veg, both in the buffet and the Fusion teppanyaki restaurant. However I always found plenty to eat.
Breakfast in the Preferred Club restaurant always felt very special. The amazing view, the brilliant service and the great food, the best way to start the day.
Pizzas were great.
The Asian Fusion restaurant is definitely worth a visit and Coco Cafe is fantastic. The ladies there are lovely and made the best soya cappuccino!
But by far the best place to eat is Oceana. We ate there 4 out of 8 nights but we would’ve been happy eating there every evening. The food is fantastic, the best in the hotel, atmosphere is good and we were always made to feel special by Juan.
As wonderful as the hotel is, it is the staff that make this a truly 5 star experience.
From the moment we arrived and were greeted at the front door we have been made to feel special, and that’s what holidays are all about.
We have found the Dominican people in general to be so kind and friendly and very welcoming to their country. But the staff here go above and beyond to make your stay perfect.
To start, our wonderful butler Marcelo. Contacted us every day to check if we needed anything. Kept us up to date on anything happening in the hotel. Was there immediately if we had a query or needed help. He was brilliant.
Dolores in the Interlude bar, great service and always so friendly.
Carlos in the Preferred Club breakfast area was one of our favourite waiters. Always smiling and happy with a bit of humour. 5 star service every time.
Ambar went out of her way to help us have a perfect holiday.
However 2 members of staff really made our holiday perfect…
Jose Suero at the cabanas. We spent a day and a half being waited on hand and foot by Jose. Amazing service. He made our day so special, we would not hesitate to recommend booking a cabana. Worth every penny. And Jose made sure we were well looked after for the rest of our holiday. Such a lovely man.
Juan at the Oceana restaurant made our holiday perfect. Incredibly professional, making sure everything was just right for us. You can tell that he takes a lot of pride in his job. He made us feel like VIP’s but also like his friends. Always warm and welcoming and nothing too much trouble. From our very first day he remembered what we liked and strived to provide us with that for the rest of the holiday. First class!
It was always great to see him at breakfast too.
