Neighbourhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Great place for local food! Very central close to Placa Catalunya. You gotta catch the right time since the store is closed at the declared hours, depending on the season these hours change.

We rented an apartment very nearby Colmado Quilez, and decided to stop in one evening to check it out. The gentlemen there were extremely helpful. They have fresh whole bean coffee that they will grind to your specifications, as well as a fully-stocked delicatessen and just about any gourmet food item you could think of. No matter your budget, they have a bottle of wine to recommend. Don't miss out-- shopping here is like a window into the past, right down to the cashier at the entrance who will take your payment.
Apparently this store used to be much larger, but was downsized (a designer mens' clothing store took over a portion of the building). They still manage to pack an amazing amount of food and liquor into their remaining space.

My wife and i were looking for a good bottle of wine and happened in this store. Fabulous.

The store has a great feel and is very fun to browse through. They have an amazing selection of excellent wines - coupled with advice from a great staff, we visited 2 different evenings and left with wonderful bottles of wine each time. There is also an excellent selection of crackers, cheeses, meats, etc to add to the picnic! Don't miss it!

This is the go-to shop for fine whiskeys. Unfortunately it's closed Saturday afternoons. What's wrong with these people?

We swung by here on the last afternoon of a week in Barcelona, so we could bring home some of the flavors of what we had eaten during our trip.Counter staff were helpful in selecting sardines and helped us find anchovies, artichoke hearts, and dulce de membrillo or cordonyat (quince "cheese"). It was a good local shopping experience, and so far, the ingredients have been fantastic. Too bad we didn't bring back more.

We were looking for a particular vermouth, found it here, along with a lot of other things we didn't know we needed. They have beautiful meats and cheeses as well.
