Each year in the United States, hundreds of children are accidentally injured and/or killed by firearms that are not properly secured. By choosing to keep a firearm in your home, you are legally responsible for ensuring that the weapon is stored in a safe manner, and not easily accessible to children or other unauthorized persons. In the state of Michigan, an average of 95 children and teens die by guns every year, and 51% of these deaths are homicides.
