COMMUNITY AND FAITH-BASED INITIATIVE
ON FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION

Your Community. Your Faith. Their Future.

In Michigan, there are approximately 10,000 children in foster care and more than 200 children who still need adoptive families. With the goal of meeting the needs of these children, the Community and Faith-Based Initiative on Foster Care and Adoption seeks to build partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and faith communities.

The objectives of the Initiative are to:

  • Connect local organizations, businesses, and faith communities with MDHHS and private agencies to support and recruit foster and adoptive families.
  • Increase the number of foster and adoptive parents.
  • Develop support for foster/adoptive children and their families that includes their faith and community of origin.

Visit the pages below to learn how you and your organization can help create opportunities for youth and families that have experienced foster care and adoption.
