Carmel Mission Inn captivates guests with its exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms, although a few have mentioned noise and amenity issues. The hotel's modern charm and pet-friendly policies contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by the commendable service staff who go above and beyond. Its advantageous location offers convenient proximity to Carmel's attractions. While the heated pool and hot tub are highlights, some guests feel that the hotel's rates do not always reflect good value, citing unexpected fees.

We had a king room overlooking the pretty pool. Pool is heated and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves! Great view as well. We had a special deal allowing us 2 free drinks at the restaurant there; friendly service, great drink selections and beautiful ambiance. Tried one of the small plates for an appetizer and it was delicious! Hotel is a gorgeous, not so long drive to McWay Falls, Nepenthe, Point Lobos, Carmel and Monterey. Also close/walking distance to grocery store, pharmacy and boutique shopping and fun restaurants/bars. Highly recommend!

This was our family's first hotel stay since COVID and shelter in place. The hotel location is great. We have stayed here before and love it. Close to lots of shops and restaurants and a quick drive to Ocean Avenue. The hotel seems to have proper COVID procedures in place for wearing face masks around the property and not allowing cleaning staff into rooms for multiple day stays. We needed some extra supplies and they were quickly delivered to our room.

We were extremely disappointed that the hotel did allow a wedding to take place on-site on Saturday nights. While it was held outside, no one was wearing face masks, no one was social distancing, and the party size exceeded the gathering size allowable by the Governor's executive order. This definitely raised concerns for us.

This was my first outing since the start of Coronavirus in California. I was not sure what to expect. The Carmel Mission Inn did an excellent job in alleviating any concerns. The hotel was spotless and social distancing rules were quite visible. The rooms were spotless. To mitigate any risk of any infections they notified us that the rooms would not be made up during my 3 day stay, their restaurants were closed by they offered menus of 2 nearby restaurants which offered free delivery. They also offered complimentary coffee in the morning. Perhaps to minimize the number of people that would be touching the coffee pots, etc., they had a server manning the station. Overall, a safe and satisfactory experience.

The place is nice. Location is good, and it close to really nice restaurants. The interior of the room is cute has mid century furniture. It is pretty modern. The room is not clean enough. For example when you sensitized some surface on the floor lamp, and you can still find some dusts. Due to Covid-19 they will not access your room which is good. Also the hotel separated sanitizing pens and used one to provide additional care about the guests. Acoustic is not really well. You can hear the voices from next doors or walking noises from above. Overall is a good hotel in terms of price, location and the design of the zoom.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights through Expedia. First night for $40.00 less than 2nd night. When I questioned the price difference, the front desk told me that it is based upon availability. Mind you, we stayed Weds and Thursday. We were placed on the ground floor in the back parking lot. When I asked for a room change, I was told there were none available. Next time- I will book direct with the hotel. The room was cute, clean and had a retro feel. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom is small and when showering, the tub filled up with water. The walls are thin, so I recommend bringing ear plugs. This is a dog friendly hotel and there were a lot of them! The pool area looked nice. Be forewarned there is construction to the restaurant and front of the hotel.

My wife and toddler were visiting for a week. We needed a microwave to heat food and had to go to the dining room to find one. We needed a decent size dorm fridge and freezer and the in-room one was smaller than the one in the motel I just left. We needed internet and cell phone service and we had abysmal connection speed or none at all! The location was beautiful with views of the nearby hills and entrance to the Carmel Valley but it came at a cost of feeling frustrated with the small details. What was nice, though, that we didn't take advantage of was the heated pool. Kudos for that.

We had a great stay at the lively Carmel Mission Inn. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Especially Angel in the restaurant. We were headed out on a hike and she saw us sitting by the pool and brought us extra water for our trip. The lovely young gal helped to print some work documents upon my arrival. We loved the location across from a little shopping center with great shops, restaurants and salons, wine tasting etc. close enough to the heart of Carmel by the Sea. The rooms have been recently updated and very nice though because of the flooring (vinyl) the sound from other room travels and can be a little louder. I travel with ear plugs because my husband snores so I was fine. It did not interrupt my enjoyment of this fabulous property.

After reading all the mixed reviews on Trip Advisor, we were not sure what to expect (this was a last minute booking for us). However, everything was perfect for us during our stay. From the beginning, there was an atmosphere of cheer and airy brightness to this place. We were welcomed by two friendly ladies who were offering juices and sangria. Check in was smooth. Our room was spotless and very clean. Unlike other reviewers, we found the room to be very functional with several ports for charging our devices. The lighting has also been designed to allow for different moods and needs. The storage closet and the locker were to the side and provided plenty of space for our luggage (disclaimer: we had just two small suitcases). The bathroom was also very well decorated with nice amenities. I really appreciated the shelf space above the toilet for keeping our stuff. Shower was simple to operate and had plenty of water pressure.

After a good night’s sleep, we had breakfast in the morning at the Shearwater Tavern. The restaurant was newly renovated and felt very comfortable (bright and airy). We had overnight oats and pancake, coffee, Mocha and OJ. Everything was tasty and perfect. Our waiter Antonio took care of us really well! Suggestions for future: please do introduce kid’s menu and kid’s portions.

We will be back here for sure in the future. Great job team Carmel Mission Inn!

From the moment we checked in our shoulders dropped an inch and our breathing relaxed! The staff gave us our room and the rundown of what was open, new policies and procedures, and welcomed us. The process was quick and kind. Our “dog-friendly “ room was conveniently located on the ground level next to the pool. It was clean, modern updates, comfortable beds and snuggly linens. The bath products were nice and smelled refreshing. There were two cozy waffle weave robes that although I had the intention of lounging in, I was too busy! The blinds were clean and light blocking!! The staff on the property were all very friendly. It was nice that there was a “dog station” with bags and waste can...this is helpful especially when you only have 1 bag in your pocket but find you need another while you are out there!
