Checked in and was upgraded to a 4th floor balcony room. The room was very modern and clean and had huge TV. Balcony overlooked a shopping area that you could walk to for breakfast or other meals. There was a farmers market set up there the day we left and that looked interesting. The pool could have been a little warmer and hot tub was closed due to covid but enjoyed my stay in Carmel.

There are so many amazing changes coming to the property starting in February of 2021 to include a new restaurant, lobby, pool area, and public space with more firepits. Come and check them out!!! We booked this hotel for 2 nights through Expedia. First night for $40.00 less than 2nd night. When I questioned the price difference, the front desk told me that it is based upon availability. Mind you, we stayed Weds and Thursday. We were placed on the ground floor in the back parking lot. When I asked for a room change, I was told there were none available. Next time- I will book direct with the hotel. The room was cute, clean and had a retro feel. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom is small and when showering, the tub filled up with water. The walls are thin, so I recommend bringing ear plugs. This is a dog friendly hotel and there were a lot of them! The pool area looked nice. Be forewarned there is construction to the restaurant and front of the hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located off Highway 1 and near the intersection with Carmel Valley Road. Several family members stayed here; we were in town for a wedding. Rooms and common areas clean and well maintained. Bed was comfortable and everything in the room worked. Coffee maker easy to use and coffee fairly good. WiFi worked, easy to connect. Staff very helpful. The hotel is a few miles from Point Lobos State Park and the Beach, but would be a brisk walk along the highway.

The hotel is OK but way overpriced (but the time you add all the extra add-on charges it was almost $500 night) for a slightly better than average motel room. It was definitely nothing special. The room chairs are uncomfortable and the location is behind a gas station. The staff was helpful and allowed us to check in early so that we could dress for a nearby wedding. It is very clean.
