Although this bakery is not in the central shopping district of Carmel, it is absolutely delicious and it’s within a couple of miles of all of the action. The pastries are as good as any place we’ve ever been. We would particularly recommend the brioche as well as the tarts. We chose several “mini” pastries so we could sample a bunch of different things. They even have mini sandwiches (we got salami and Swiss which was also a perfect treat. ). The price was very reasonable and substantially less than the overpriced bakeries lining Ocean Avenue. The young woman who helped us was also very friendly and made excellent recommendations.

Delicious pasties- almond croissant and ham & cheese heated up were spectacular. We also purchased nonfat mocha & a Carmel latte which had little flavor & we likely would have purchased elsewhere. Definitely worth the short fast moving line to buy bakery items!!

Counter Service was overall fine, but at times, lacking a bit of patience. Go early otherwise your favorite may very likely be sold out. By if you were to stop by an hour before closing, it is buy one get one free. Traditional baguette is scrumptious-stay away from white bread or baguette. The croissants, (plain and almond), and pains au chocolat were delicious, well baked. The chocolate twist was a disappointment, raw dough. On the savory side, the ham and cheese was good. As for pastries, the flan has nothing to do with a French flan, neither the eclair, but all the other pastries we tried were excellent!

So sad to see yet another victim of the times, or is it? Plenty of people standing in line hoping to take home some wonderful goodies. Me? I was really disappointed. Croissants were so old and dried up that the layers flaked off in the bag. No Almond paste on the inside. Most of the products looked liked they had seen better days. Is there some reason why you don't price your items in the display case? This is common courtesy. Love that you have state of the art checkout; nice big boxes to check so one can easily leave a tip. Here's a tip: bake a smaller amount of product daily and make sure it is the finest around.

Have to say, not quite as good as the better ones in Paris, but darn good enough! Nice flaky layers like the real croissants, good amount of amount of almonds and almond paste inside. Very satisfied. Other offerings were close to or similar in quality. Average of $4.50 each for 4, prices were not posted. Service was professional and efficient. No smiles, but no scowls either. That's ok because being in the service industry during the pandemic has got to be stressful.

Good morning pastry -- the salmon and spinach quiche drew the top approval from our family. Several interesting items from past menus are no longer available, eg lavender & lemon croissant. Service at 7:15am was good, but lines begin at 7:30am, Not close to the center of Carmel. Some awkwardness at hurrying our order before we could see everything that was available.

I have been coming here for a quick bite for several years. The fare is high quality and always fresh. The baked goods are very reminiscent of the offerings in France so it is a great way to take a little trip without an 11 hour flight. The sandwiches are comprised of the freshest ingredients and they offer a variety of breads as well.

The ham and Swiss sandwich was very good. Not a huge amount of meat, but the bread was excellent, crusty and fresh. No veggies . Cinnamon roll was croissant style, flaky and buttery. Large assortment of both sweet and savory treats Staff wore masks and social distancing marks were on the floor. Would return to try more breads.

Authentically french bakery with out of this world, melt in your mouth offerings both sweet and savory. Flaky and buttery croissants, lemon and cherry bichons, macarons, ham and swiss croissant, cinnamon rolls, peach almondine tartes.....this is a great place to get breakfast, a snack or some special treats to take home!

Got there at maybe 10 a.m. on a Sunday and there were pretty much out of everything. I went specifically for a ham & cheese croissant but there was only a handful of plain or chocolate croissants left. I was disappointed, but the chocolate croissant was excellent. A bit overpriced, but heck ALL of that area is overpriced. Another lady there with a group of people were looking to buy a number of items they were out of too.

I'll stay at the Carmel Mission Inn just to be able to go here in the morning. The pastries are delicious, coffee is great! They have mini sandwiches, and quiches too. Save room for the chocolate eclair. Yum!!

Delicious pastries and a cozy place. Highly recommend it. We got a combination of pastries and mini sandwiches and we weren’t disappointed. Will come back again.

Food was decent but staff were rude. They forgot to give me sandwich and then gave me attitude for asking for it. Also they were rude to my father on his 80th birthday.
