Online, The Carmel Mission Inn looked awesome. We were very disappointed with our stay. The room was very clean, however: 1. the bed was a hard as a rock and we couldn't sleep well, 2. the down pillows were terrible, 3. the air conditioner was very loud and we couldn't sleep with it on.

Clean, modern and dog friendly, Everything you need in a hotel. Quiet but close to Carmel and beach.
Staff is very professional and friendly. Good parking. Walking distance to Barnyard and Safeway and Starbucks.

Only reason we booked was due to the fact that it was super close to our wedding venue. The room was located next to parking spaces blocked by huge garbage bins. So parking was very difficult. Room wasn’t even special for $300 a night. I’ve stayed at better hotels for a way better price. On top of paying $750 for a 2 night stay was charged and additional $130 for other ‘fees’ not disclosed. Will never stay here again or recommend. Staff wasn’t even friendly. They were pretty snobby and simply unbothered. I guess that’s what you can expect for staying in Carmel.
Wow, I am so sorry for your experience as we pride ourselves on service and the feeling of comfort. It has been challenging during our renovation but we are very close to completion and all the construction eye sores will be gone. My wife and I stayed at the hotel to celebrate our seventh anniversary. After an iffy dining experience in Carmel, we returned to the hotel and decided to grab a couple drinks at the lounge. We were ushered into the near empty barroom and took two chairs by the bar. The bartender there holds the magic that one rarely sees nowadays. He was never once pushy but always appeared when we had a question, and served us without cheeky smiles or shallow flattery. Within ten minutes, he felt like a friend. Ten more, and the place felt like the set from Cheers (albeit with vastly different decorations). A few more people joined us at the bar and some of the tables began to fill. The place suddenly had life. It's a beautiful boutique with backsplash entertaining enough to sit there alone, but you don't have to. We drank our fill and spoke with the bartender and the management and the others at the bar and left feeling a part of the place. Without a doubt, we'll return and I hope we find the place bustling. The food was excellent, the service superb, and it's got that spark that makes one feel at home though they are far from it.

Room not that clean. We noticed tub was dirty and lots of dust on furniture. Furniture had sticky spots in it. We lysoled it all during COVid.
No safe in room.
Hot tub closed, pool open.
One charging station in room not working, phone in room not working.
Poor internet connection. Many of us had to go outside of room by a window to get service.
Friendly helpful staff. Close to two shopping plazas with dining, bars, ice cream stores.
