Carmel Mission Inn captivates guests with its exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms, although a few have mentioned noise and amenity issues. The hotel's modern charm and pet-friendly policies contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by the commendable service staff who go above and beyond. Its advantageous location offers convenient proximity to Carmel's attractions. While the heated pool and hot tub are highlights, some guests feel that the hotel's rates do not always reflect good value, citing unexpected fees.

Very nice place, updated, very clean modern rooms which you can see that somebody thought about the guests and their needs. They even have a special board to use when you're using your laptop in bed! They also have robes to use after the bath on in the pool. The pool was nice too, even though spa was closed because of COVID.

In general the place feels very welcoming, clean and thoughtfully arranged. It is clear somebody thought about people that would be staying there.

The location is good, there are several restaurants within walking distance, on the plaza and across the road, and it's within minutes drive to Carmel downtown and the beach.

The only downside I've noticed was that the water flow in the shower was kinda weak. Not sure it's because we were on the 4th floor or it's the general thing. But overall we enjoyed our stay a lot and if we are in Carmel again, would definitely consider this place.

All in all, the stay was as expected for Inn level lodging. We were a bit dismayed at the lack of communication when booking around the fitness center, spa, and restaurant closures. Having these service outlets closed, along with a "Resort" fee seem a little outlandish for the overall property and price paid. Again, Inn level lodging is not a resort per se, closed outlets would remove services and thus the price is way to high for what was received. We left feeling nickeled and dimmed.

The desk service was efficient but not particularly friendly. I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff when I asked for room options and pricing. My view was of the canopy walkway which was dirty. I was next to the elevator and could hear every person that got on and off and anyone talking in the hall or at the pool. The hamburger from the restaurant was over cooked, over salted, greasy as heck and I couldn't eat it. The french fries were just as bad. Their non-alcoholic drink options are dismal (no ice tea??) I was happy to be able to charge my car. Overall, a cool looking average hotel

We are so sorry that we did not exceed your expectations. We have spent a lot of training time with our front =desk team and want to be extremely customer focused and it sounds like we missed the boat on that. I have reviewed with the chef and restaurant manager your feedback on the meal as this is a brand new restaurant and the quality of our product, having iced tea available should as well as non-alcoholic drinks is a must and we will certainly add these items. We hope you will give us another try on your next visit and let me assist you with your stay. Thank you for your feedback.

My husband and I planned a last minute trip to Carmel area after our previous holiday weekend plans had to be cancelled. I attribute most of my dissatisfaction with this hotel to my inability properly research this hotel. I called in to ask for a military discount and the reservations agent seemed to know less than I did. He was unable to see rooms available that I saw on the hotel website and he gave me incorrect information about a parking fee which we discovered when we arrived at the hotel and had to pay a resort fee for parking. We were upset about this because the lot was very full and we had difficulty the one evening finding a parking space.

The decor is dated. The hallways have a musty smell. Our bathrobes were ratty and deteriorating. Our WiFi did not work for the duration of the trip. We had to log off and on to the server every 15 minutes.

There was a dog across the hall from us. This would have been good to know when checking in as my husband is highly allergic to dogs and cats. It barked for much of our stay.

I was very disappointed with our stay after spending $800 for a 2 night stay.

I had a pleasant surprise when I entered my room. It was nicely modernized from when I was there 2 years ago. The wifi was much better too. I hope the whole facility will be open for business the next time I stay.
I checked in on a Monday and asked where I could get a good meal and was told there was a menu in the room that delivers directly to the room. The front desk didn't understand or know that the restaurant was closed on Mondays. There was one cushion on the main couch that was very soiled and in need of a deep cleaning or replacement. Other than that it was a great stay.

My fiancé and I stayed here a couple nights ago in their king suite on the 4th floor. We were greeted by friendly and helpful customer service who assisted immediately. The room was absolutely amazing compared to other hotels we have stayed at. We were also thrilled about the location as it was walking distance to multiple restaurants, and a 5 min Uber to downtown and the beach. All in all it was a fantastic experience and a great value. Highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel has a great location and has recently remodeled rooms. Our problems started on the first night when a hotel employee or construction worker (never got the real story, but none paying) in the room next to us had a party with a few other peeps. They were so load that you could hear loud word in Spanish. About 11 PM it stopped and I reported it to the front desk. We were told he was employed by the hotel and it would stop. The next night there was no party just an individual who was very load in clearing his throat until 10:30 PM. The following 3 night were the same. Quite until about 8 PM and load until 10:30.
When they remodeled the rooms they should have added sound boards between the rooms. The rooms have paper thin walls especially with guys so load and obnoxious next door. We were asked by the hotel if we wanted to switch rooms but were assured the noise would stop. They should have moved the employee, but never did.

Carmel Mission Inn has a great vibe and beautiful aesthetic. The hotel is conveniently located near so many things to see and do (Monterey, 17 mile drive, aquarium, downtown Carmel, etc) and there is a grocery store and shopping center within walking distance.
The pool is heated and in a courtyard in the center of the hotel. Beautiful area, but the hot tub was still broken so we did not get to use it.
We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant. The setting was once again, chic. Whoever denied the renovation did a great job with details and comfort. Our server, Angel, was so nice and patient with our squirmy sons. Each person in our family ordered something different, but we all agreed that the food was satisfying and delicious!
The rooms were just typical , but the overall aesthetic of the whole place is a perfect laid back kind of mid century modern. Common areas were all very clean and minimalistic, staff were around cleaning constantly, service was great. The price seemed a little high for what you get, but it is very comparable to other stays in the area.

We stayed here for two nights last week and enjoyed the hotel very much!
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, shower pressure was good and it was in a good, safe location. Details that are important for me. There is a small fridge in the room and a K-cup style coffee maker, faux wood flooring, no carpeting in our rooms.
There are many good restaurants in the immediate area that are worth trying. Carmel by the Sea is a short drive away if you prefer eating in that area. The restaurant in the Carmel Mission Inn is very good if you don’t feel like leaving. It opens at 7:00am, they serve a delicious breakfast (not complimentary). We noticed that they have a very nice outdoor pool area that I’m sure would be great if you are traveling at a different time of year.
It was a very safe and comfortable stay and reasonably priced too. Highly recommend Carmel Mission Inn!

We stayed at CMI last year right before finishing the remodel and came for our second visit last week.
The outdoor sitting areas are gorgeous and Shearwater tavern was yummy.
However, the customer service really needs to improve-understaffed and not very helpful.
This hotel should not be charging a resort fee-l8cal phone usage, unsecured parking and unsecured WiFi. If you are going to have a Resort Fee, have some bikes, restaurant discounts and secured parking.
The bathrooms are small and very little room between toilet and bath tub.
Good location, close to shops, beach and restaurants.
