Carmel-by-the-Sea is a beautiful part of the world, with a beguiling and charming ambience.

Needless to say, it is not the place where you will find a shopping mall!

However, shopping malls are an essential service for procuring many of the daily needs in life.

And, this shopping mall, conveniently located nearby to the village, but not intruding on it, is an excellent place to visit when you want to buy everyday needs - there’s a Safeway and a hardware store, as well as a miscellany of other shops, as well as eateries.

Well worth a visit when need arises!

We went to the Crossroads Shopping Center. This is an outdoor shopping mall with stores, cafes, restaurants, and wine tasting rooms. Our destination this time was to buy groceries.

We went to the Safeway that's located here and picked up some snacks and drinks to take back to our hotel. We also bought freshly made sandwiches from the deli department for lunch that were very good.

I found a great place for a hair cut at the O Salon 112 Crossroads Blvd Natalie is an excellent stylist. She took time to listen to what I wanted and gave me a great and trendy cut. Parking is free! I am on travel and will not hesitate to go back.

I feel a little weird reviewing a grocery store on Trip Advisor, but I know there are people out there that may need to know where to go to get necessities while visiting the Monterey/Carmel area. This place is it! It's well-stocked and clean. We picked up all the food we would need in Sequoia minus cold stuff, plus sandwiches from the deli for the road, and some coffee from Starbucks for my husband. The sandwiches were awesome! Nancy in the deli did us right! They were so much better than anything we could've picked up along the way! We were checked out by Eric, who could not have been nicer or friendlier. He even gave us the Safeway card holder discount so we could take advantage of the sales (we don't have Safeway in Georgia). You can't go wrong stopping here if you're in the area!

We were in Carmel for three days. Since we had a kitchen in our room, we went to Safeway to buy some things. This is a very good Safeway store with a wide variety of groceries, sundries, and has a Starbucks as well.

For dinner, we went to Rio Grill. The restaurant specializes in Southwestern cuisine and we had a very good dinner

There is a wide variety of stores to shop at and I like it that they are unique and not the normal mall type stores. Its worth a visit. There is more cafes, bakeries, markets, and wine tasting rooms as well.

We stopped through on our way to Santa Cruz for the Packers vs 49ers Preseason game. Go Pack Go!
We had no time to shop, we just wanted to walk through. Lots of little quirky and charming shops and a few cute places to eat.

Cute place; nothing cheap, but it's Carmel. Great eating places and some very nice window shopping for lots of nick nacks. Very clean center.

Home to everything from a very large Starbucks with great service to one of the best indie bookistores, River House Books, to a fresh juice bar, to Spencers' - a beautifully stocked card and stationary store. Great stop, away from the tourists.
