Carmel Mission Inn captivates guests with its exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms, although a few have mentioned noise and amenity issues. The hotel's modern charm and pet-friendly policies contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by the commendable service staff who go above and beyond. Its advantageous location offers convenient proximity to Carmel's attractions. While the heated pool and hot tub are highlights, some guests feel that the hotel's rates do not always reflect good value, citing unexpected fees.

Well maintained and super helpful staff. Really enjoyed our last minute weekend getaway.

My teenage son was thrilled to jump in the pool at the end of long cold day at the beach and all.
Helpful staff who graciously changed our room to face the pool. While we don’t have pets we saw many pet owners using the place so definitely convenient for pets.
There is some renovation work is going on but no noise during our stay so must be over or getting over.

All in all highly recommend.

Thank you for the kind review. We are actually in the middle of the renovation work but making all efforts to be as quiet as possible especially on the weekends. So glad your son enjoyed our heated pool. We look forward to your return to see what's new!

Spent two nights at Carmel Mission Inn and truly enjoyed it. The room has been designed to perfection in my opinion: Lights can be controlled from low to high and lamps provide a very nice ambiance, wireless connection is high quality and directly accessible, a major large trey can on the coffee table can function as a try in for dinner in the room allowing for lots of shared dishes. Outlets everywhere you need them, a laptop table letting you work form the couch or from bed and a work space with an adjustable chair.. in other words, the room works to perfection for a professional traveler, who enjoys quality in general. This is a great place to go spend some quiet time, when you need to get out of Silicon Valley from time to time. ... short drive to downtown Carmel with all its terrific restaurants and beach as well as fantastic restaurants right near by. I'll be back!

We had no expectations but even that was shattered. When you first walk into the hotel it feels light, modern and inviting. But once we spent 24 hrs there all of that went away.
Our room was above the laundry room. We could hear washers and dries going on without an end. We shared the wall with an employee room only (assuming storage) and endless opening and closing of the door with squeaking sounds and loud bangs.
Room to the left had barking dog.
Our window looked out to the parking lot and we had no privacy. Loud noises and music from the restaurant/bar across the street kept us awake late onto the night.
Tried calling restaurant three times to order in room breakfast and went to voicemail every time. No one called back for our order.
Only one coffee pod for in room coffee.
Shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap smell like rosemary and oak which is great if you are a man and like smelling like a lumber Jack.
If this was $150 per night hotel I would have no complaints. But for $398 per night that we paid this is beyond unacceptable. I will be filing on official complaint with the hotel staff as well.

We sincerely regret that your stay met with such challenges. It's disheartening to know that the room placement and subsequent noise disturbances disrupted your comfort. The issues you experienced with room service and products are also taken to heart. Undoubtedly, your expectation in terms of value for money is essential and we apologize it wasn't met. Please be assured, your feedback is vital in refining our offerings and improving guest experience. We hope for an opportunity to better serve you in the future and rectify this experience.

This hotel has been recently updated. The staff and amenities are excellent. I highly recommend. One morning I arrived to the dining room 5 minutes after closing. The manager and kitchen staff surprised me with excellent customer service by preparing a toasted bagel with cream cheese and coffee while I waited.

I would rate this accommodation a 2.5 because the woman who checked us in was pleasant. She mentioned that the restaurant touted in their website was closed for refurbishment, and the gym and spa were closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. What she failed to mention was the hotel would still charge a “resort” fee. I suppose the fee covered the view of the neighboring parking lot. The room was large, cold and the bed had a noticeable divot on one side. I would not recommend this lodging, an overall disappointment in an otherwise delightful trip to Carmel, CA.

We went for 3 nights 4 days. We had the king bed patio room on the very corner, and I believe that was the best room in the hotel!! Right by the pool, not sharing a wall on one side, close to the water machine, vending machine & ice maker, and close to the village outside. Their protocols, sanitation & cleanliness during COVID was perfect & very hospitable. We went on the weekend with the extreme heat & blackouts. The AC was amazing & powerful. We were able to enjoy the pool during the black out, then hang out on our patio with friends to play card games & snack. The room & bathroom were updated, clean & user friendly. Very comfortable bed. Multiple places to do work (since we "worked from home" on Thursday at the hotel). On Saturday, also got to enjoy wine tasting at the hotel.

Only complaint was very very bad cell service and very very bad hotel Wifi. But the Thursday I had to work, the hotel Wifi was decent. Just Friday, Saturday, Sunday was extremely bad that I was unable to use my phone or computer whatsoever (also had my own Wifi I brought too which would not connect either). So be prepared to UNPLUG from LIFE while there :)

Definitely will be booking the exact same room next time. It was awesome.

This hotel was updated but still had the feel of an old motel. To call it “boutique” is a stretch. Super noisy, thin walls and you can hear everything going on in the hallways and even someone taking a shower in the next room. The fridge went on and off all night and when we turned on the air conditioning it sounded like a truck’s engine.

The hotel is on highway 1 but thankfully we got a room away form the road noise. Good location to walk to some restaurants and shops.

Room was clean but the hallways smell.

Summary....the hotel would had been “fine” but we paid 300 a night for a room that should have been at the most 150 per night because it was standard. Not a place you want to relax.

Quiet, well located facility in a nice area at walking distance to good and affordable food and services.
Courteous, well trained and service oriented staff had a welcoming impact on our evacuee group from the start. Other guests shared similar experience. Better shampoo and conditioner would be great.

We were more than pleased with our stay at the Inn. This is in contrast to our prior stay a couple of years ago, when the inn was being renovated, on Christmas Day of all days, and my wife will ill. The noise was horrible. We complained and got a discount, but still......

The remodeled hotel is wonderful. It was clean. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our room was across the hall from the elevator and we expected to hear a ding every time the elevator stopped on our floor, but we never heard any sound.

Our room was spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. Our only gripe is the the dispenser in the shower did not work when we tried to pump body lotion. I also suggest that room service include 2 packages of regular coffee in stead of one regular and one with vanilla.

The dining room was also remodeled since our last visit, and is quite nice, open and airy. We shared an excellent omelet, and after eating I approached manager and complemented him on the cook's food.

The hotel is a good place to stay, central to a lot of places in the Carmel area. It is close to several beaches, to the Mission Ranch, to the Rocky Point Restaurant (if it is still open), and Carmel-by-the-Sea.

We will be staying here again in the future, now that the inn has been renovated.

Carmel Mission Inn was a great place to stay for our recent visit to Carmel/Monterey. The location can't be beat! We were able to easily get anywhere we needed to be including Cannery Row, beaches, Carmel village area, Big Sur, and all necessities. Convenient gas station, stores/shops/restaurants nearby (some dine-in on patios) and easy access to highways/freeways. The property itself is lovely and well-maintained. Rooms are really nice and comfortable, immaculate, and some are pet-friendly which was a must for us since our two dogs traveled with us. I would definitely stay here again when in the Monterey Bay/Carmel area.
