This was one of many trips we have made to this property, but the first since it has been rebranded to a Secrets resort. It did not disappoint. Irma and Powell were in the Preferred club upon our arrival to greet us and were extremely efficient in getting us checked in. There is no better way to start a vacation than entering that room and seeing both of their friendly, smiling faces, along with Leticia ready with a welcome drink. The pool area offers the best views and the Secrets exclusive restaurant Rosewood for breakfast and lunch is just a few steps away. Arturo and his staff at Rosewood, including servers Jose and Eduardo are eager to please and go the extra mile. We never had any trouble finding our perfect spot by the pool each day. The poolside team consists of Urbano and Cruz serving drinks, and the pool manager Victor. They have a goal of spoiling you rotten, and they succeed. We have known these gentleman for many years and they are fantastic!! Our suite was spotless, super clean and sanitized upon our arrival. Housekeeping never missed a visit both for making up the room during the day, and turndown service at night. The landscaping and grounds are immaculate, and the ocean water was crystal clear this visit. Seaweed does wash up, but nowhere near the volume that it has been over the past years, but the beach crew removes it promptly each morning. As a Secrets guest, you have the ability to spend time at Breathless for a change of pace. Activities there are in full swing from pool and beach volleyball, water aerobics, games on the beach such as bocce, corn hole and jenga, and the list goes on. The E-team consisting of Miguel, Bernice, Ulysses, and Daniel organize the fun and will keep you occupied all day, and Samuel, Wilburth and Moises at the Twist bar will keep you hydrated.
This resort is beautiful, but the staff is phenomenal! Sommelier Dayrén treats us like royalty, and always goes the extra mile. The lengths she went to, to insure a very special birthday surprise for my wife was incredible. She is very special and Breathless wouldn’t be the same without her. Julio and Antonio, Managers of Spumante and Coquette respectively, made sure each and every dinner was special and memorable, along with the hostess Priscilla at Silk City, and Naoli at The Strip. Our servers throughout our stay included Willie at the Strip, Fernando and Esther at Bites and Ricardo at Silk City, and Delvan at Spumante, and Hugo at Coquette. They all treat you like you are the most important person at the resort.
A special thank you to Dayren and Julio once again for planning a special birthday celebration for my wife, and Chef Alejandro for making special birthday and Valentine’s Day dinners for us, and Sommelier Francisco and F& B Manager Abraham for working so hard behind the scenes. We have never had this high level of service ANYWHERE! You all make us feel so very special!

We'd been to many Secrets resorts and Secrets Pto Morelos didn't disappoint either. Originally we booked with next door Breathless, but as we were with the family, the party concept didn't quite gel with the older members. Before booking check whether you are up for pary concept (Breathless) or for something more relaxing (Secrets), both attached to each other & sharing restaurants. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and helped us change to the Secrets part of the resort without a problem. The amenities, food, & entertainment were absolutely top notch. Covid-19 cleanliness was fantastic with constant cleaning, disinfectant is freely available everywhere, and additionally in the rooms. Masks are worn by all staff everywhere and by guests in all communal indoor areas. Temperatureis taken before entering all restaurants. We are usually extra careful with regards to Covid-19 and we felt comfortable in this resort. The staff always go above and beyond; we felt treated as royalty the entire time. No ask was too great, no question too difficult. A special shout out to Daniel for very informative session about marine life and subsequent snorkel experience! Also big thanks to David (restaurants), Crisantema (cleaning crew), Alfredo (Concierge), and amazing reception crew who helped with the rooms. We will happily return and recommend this resort to anyone.

After getting married we headed straight for Secrets Riviera Cancun ready to relax a few days after our wedding and then turn up and party. We planned on a 7 day stay at the resort. Immediately on arrival we were greeted by staff who were very friendly and wanting to help direct us to the proper areas of the resort. We stayed in the Secrets Preferred area because we wanted a quieter area to relax and able to access Breathless to party. The two areas are locked off so only the Secrets side can access Breathless but Breathless guests cannot access the Secrets area.
I would like to thank the entertainment staff in Secrets (David, Estrella & Omar) Always in a great mood, remembering everyones names and encouraging participation in all the games and activities. The staff at the Rosewater restaurant were fabulous especially Waiter David, he would have our regular table waiting for us and as soon as we came to dinner he remembered which drinks we were going to order. Pool staff in Secrets Urbano and Cruz went above and beyond keeping drinks flowing, food coming and always checking up on us throughout the days. Wine and Tequila expert Eduardo was such a pleasure to be around. Extremely knowledgable and willing to share his expertise and answer any questions, giving us tips on what drinks to try and purchase to take home. The staff made us feel very welcome and taken care of.
Food and drinks were fantastic and could not complain about any of it.
Rooms were always cleaned and if they were unable to clean while you were in the room they would come back later to do so. We found that the entire resort was very clean.
The beach was cleaned throughout the day of seaweed but the water was not the best swimming beach. There were many rocks and weeds (bring water shoes) but the beach its self was well maintained. You may be lucky enough like we were to see Sea-turtle eggs hatch and be released into the ocean, this was one of our highlights we will never forget!
The resort has 3 pools if you have access to the Secrets side(2 in Breathless). We arrived to find out that the main party pool in Breathless was closed all week due to maintenance which we found very disappointing as it looked incredible and it was one of the main reasons we chose this resort.

This Secrets resort is really only one building carved out of the adjoining Breathless resort. While it does have its own restaurant and pool, it is a far cry from the Unlimited Luxury of any other Secrets locations, and we have stayed at 7 others. On the positive side, the resorts is Preferred Club only, meaning true top shelf booze and an "exclusive" Preferred Club lounge. (More about that later) The restaurants are all on the Breathless side (except Rosewater which is the exclusive Secrets one). The food is above average overall, with a few exceptions here and there. The menus are varied and should accommodate most tastes. Unfortunately, the dress codes required for the various venues are never enforced. So don't be surprised if you dressed for dinner and wind up seated next to a group in cutoffs and t-shirts The bartenders are generous with their pours. The staff are friendly and accommodating to guest requests. The COVID safety protocols are everywhere and it felt quite safe to stay here. A special shout out goes to the entire Housekeeping staff who bust their butts to keep us clean and safe. On the down side, the exclusivity of the Secrets side is maintained by room key access to the sliding glass door in the Preferred Lounge. Numerous times, Secrets employees gave access to anyone on the Breathless side whose room key "didn't work or was forgotten". So the Breathless guests had full access to the amenities that are supposedly exclusive to Secrets Preferred Club guests that we paid extra for. The beach is virtually unusable because of the tons of seaweed that washes ashore every day. While the staff tries diligently to clear it, their battle is useless and unending. That's not the resort's fault, just disappointing to come to a beach resort and not be able to use the beach. Overall, our stay was OK, just not even close to Secrets Preferred Club standards we've come to expect.

We went to Punta Cana a couple years ago and purchased an upgrade for a swim-out suite... however, the water in the swim out was too cold to use.
This time we called Secrets directly, not through our UVC membership to ask about the swim-out water temps. They told us yes, the swim-outs are heated. We dont need jacuzzi hot, but at least something accessible.
My wife booked 7nights for a "Preferred Club Oceanfront Swimout Jr Suite", which included paying additional for an upgrade. We got here, everything was great but the ocean front swim out was freezing cold... completely unusable!! The swimouts in the tropical area swim outs were warm. We called 3 separate occasions to ask about getting warmer water. 1st time I was told they were fixing the problem... after a day goes by, no change. 2nd call we were told there is NO heater, its considered "natural" since we are ocean front, although they would get the problem fixed. 3rd call we were told the heaters will be fixed really soon. Still, no change. We even had several of the staff put their hand in both our oceanfront and our friends "tropical" water. They couldnt understand why so cold. Anyway, sorry for the rant, but we are extremely disappointed in the lies & stories we were told at an expensive cost to us. You can see the prices on their website. Yeah we get that covid messed things up for everyone. We still had fun at the resort.

I traveled here with a friend for a last minute get away. We wanted to go to Breathless, but wanted peace and tranquility when we needed! This was the best solution. We got the call from Secrets and the party from Breathless! Jennifer at check in welcomed us with a smile, and we were handed a glass of champagne to start vacation! Fernando brought our luggage to our room (after it was sanitized), and went over every detail in the room for us! The rooms are well appointed and stocked with all the toiletries you can imagine. They stocked the fridge every day, and snacks too! We were surprised with a bottle of champagne and chocolates one night, which was a nice sweet treat! The entertainment team went above and beyond to try and include everyone, Bernice, Miguel, Daniel and Joshi were funny, energetic, and accommodating! They truly wanted everyone to have a good time! The restaurants were all great! We had Breakfast at Rosewater every morning, estancia the hostess, knew our name and greeted us with a smile every day! Eduardo and Manuel were two of our servers that were helpful! Victor Humilio and Cruz at the Secrets pool went way above and beyond for us, helping us get chairs, blowing up our rafts, even helping when we decided to stay an extra day! Of course we enjoyed drinks from Wilberth and Samuel! Who were never afraid to give us a special drink they made! We loved them all! We had a massage and did the hydra circuit at the spa. Juliette, Christian, and Josephine serviced us in the spa, the massage and attention to service and relaxation was amazing! Thalia and Christian at the Spa desk were helpful and accommodating, always smiling! All the restaurants were tasty, we dined at Spumante twice, food was very good. Katina the hostess was very nice and greeted us! Instead of Hibachi, we chose the all carte Asian and the food was excellent! Over all great experience! You can see how hard every single person at the resort works! I also want to do a shout out to the people that probably don’t get as much recognition! The housekeeping staff provided a spotless environment, I witnessed them scrubbing elevator walls first thing in the morning, they are always smiling, and greeting you when you walk by! The gardeners and landscaping staff absolutely bust their hump to create a beautiful environment! I wish I had each persons name so I could commend them for the job they do! We will definitely go back!

I'm not sure 200 words will be enough! This place is just out of this world, nothing is ever too much trouble for anyone. From the moment we arrived we have been looked after every single moment. Special thanks to Martin our concierge who is the most wonderful person, the pool attendants Bailey and Fabian, every morning our towels were ready and ready for a quick chat, I'm now called Pablo, they no why. The pool waiters who work tirelessly to know your name, know your drink and keep you filled up all day, Cruz and Mar are outstanding. The entertainment team are perfect, they know the level of interaction that you want, Ross, who went on his holiday after a couple of days is funny, engaging, knowledgeable. Axel who is new to the resort is great too. The Rosewater restaurant we used every morning and lunch is outstanding, the food is of the most top quality with fantastic presentation and taste. The waiter are excellent, Manuel always has an infectious laugh. The view from the pool is outstanding, we could never get bored of looking at the Pelicans diving for fish. Everyday a team of guys spend all day preparing the beach, hosing it, cleaning it, removing seaweed, flattening The sand and putting a motif into the sand, it's amazing tonwatch, everyday silently the pool cleaner goes about his job cleaning meticulously the pool walls and floors, the gardners always tending the plants. The security of this hotel is outstanding you can't get in or out if you are not listed, and they check!! There are security guys stood on the beach ends checking who come in or out. The room cleaners are first class, never have we been somewhere that is meticulously cleaned and stocked with fresh towels, mini bar, toothpaste, creams, you name it its there. We stayed at the secrets side, which allowed us to go to Breathless side whenever we wanted and to use the restaurants which are outstanding, I cant honestly say which is our favourite as they were all soo good. The beach fire show was good, the food wasn't that great if I'm honest but it didn't matter as we had had a great lunch. The preferred lounge is a great place to chill out with some great snacks on offer all day. It's perfect for chatting and meeting friends before dinner as we did several times. I have tried to find fault only because I think its only fair to give an accurate opinion, but truly there are no faults with this hotel and they should be congratulated from the bottom all the way up to the top as it is truly spectacular and we will definitely be back for our next special event. Sadly we are off back to a cold wet UK and leave this special place behind with its perfect sunshine, perfect people and a our hearts. So we’re die hard secrets and AM Resorts lovers. We decided on this location after our trip to breathless in Punta Cana got Canceled due to Hurricane Fiona. I won’t make this a super long review but let me say that this is definitely not a full secrets quality resort. This is a breathless resort with a building for ‘Secrets’ guest for a little more quiet. All your restaurants will be located on the breathless side! All your entertainment will be on the breathless side!
Everyone on the secrets side at this location is the preferred club..so you’re not getting any special services like you normally would at the preferred club at any other secrets resort or even at the Xhale club for breathless. The ONLY ‘personal’ concierge or butler’s available on site are in the lobby at the preferred club and even though the staff insisted ours were just ‘walking around’ they were never at a desk anywhere at our building (we never made a joke out of it and put stick notes in places to prove that never moved because no one had been there) When we checked in we were given one room key and when another concierge went to escort us to our room we asked for a second one (because it’s required to get between breathless and secrets side) the gentleman looked at us with an attitude and questioned why we needed a second room key. That was unnecessary. We were escorted to the elevator at our building and then we were left on our own to find our room and then waited 20 more minutes before our bags were brought up. We didn’t have the in room iPad which controls room features, orders services and shows all the menus and entertainment for the evening. When we asked for that, we were told to download the app on our phone instead.
The chair in our room was disgusting with stains as well so we went down to talk with the preferred club about all these issues and Basically all we got told was sorry about that. We brought it up daily that we never saw our building’s concierge and only told ‘well you can just come in here instead’ The point is, as part of the preferred club there are certain privileges we’ve become accustomed to with secrets and this resort did not deliver at all.
The individual servers at the restaurants and bars are all great and friendly, the food is decent but there are so many options there’s something for everyone, the beach is TERRIBLE, the environment surrounding the resort is mangroves which means you’re not getting a white sandy beach, it’ll always be murky algae water and seaweed. But if you’re looking for a party atmosphere, this place definitely has it. However if you want the personalized over the top service that most secrets preferred clubs provides, this is NOT IT.

We booked into secrets riviera for a six day break. Secrets is part of a larger hotel which was originally a ‘breathless’. Hence the title. A vacation of extremes.
First secrets. In isolation this secrets lives up to the secrets brand. It only has one restaurant (Rosewater) and a pool. We were in secrets when occupancy seemed low. Not sure the pool would be sufficient at really busy times. The service is generally good with special mention for Alex the waiter in rosewater and Fabian who serviced the chairs umbrellas etc around the pool. That’s the good news.
The usual selection of restaurants (Mexican, French, Asian and Italian) are all located on the breathless side of the hotel. I’m not sure of the best words to use to describe the breathless experience. Suffice it to say it is the complete opposite of what you would expect from a stay at secrets. The food on the breathless side is again below the standard one would expect from secrets. I guess if you are serving drunk people they are less discerning.
Loud music (which I quite like), loud drunk people (which I don’t like) and a feeling of the need to shower when returning to secrets. Whoever thought that putting this secrets and breathless together should lose their job. The breathless experience completely overshadows any pleasure derived from staying at secrets.
There are a few points of demarcation between the hotels. Secrets people are allowed into breathless but the reverse is not the case. This leads to many attempts for people from breathless to try to use secrets facilities. There are no signs on the beach to separate the two properties and allegedly the booze is stronger at secrets hence the need to try to infiltrate. If they succeed the best thing to do is evacuate to your room and hope security can get rid of them.
When we found the shows they were good but again you are mixing with the same loud drunk people mentioned earlier. Most shows are on the breathless side but secrets had a couple of musical shows which were of good quality. There were at least a couple of nights when there was little or no entertainment.
To summarize this is the worst secrets experience we have had and my recommendation would be to visit any other secrets before considering secrets riviera. There needs to be a lot of work done to make this an experience I would like to repeat. Currently this is not our intention.

Just returned from a girl's trip to Secrets Riviera Cancun. I can't say enough at what an amazing hotel this was. First, the resort was immaculate and they had strong cleaning protocols in place in consideration of COVID. The service was OUTSTANDING. Every person who worked there couldn't do enough for you. Yoshi at our pool was wonderful and made sure all the guests had a great time. The pool service was incredible, with servers coming over constantly to make sure your cocktails were always full and provided water to make sure you were hydrated. They also had sushi, fresh fruit, and ice cream that they would bring as a treat unprovoked. Urbana, Cruz and Victor were wonderful in ensuring our every need was taken care of. They also set you up nicely in the wonderful lounge chairs, which were very easy to get at the Secrets pool since it was exclusive to the Secrets side. Secret guests could use everything on the Breathless side and Secrets side which was a plus. Breathless was more of a party mode and Secrets to me was more upscale. We also enjoyed the spa water treatment room that had sauna, steam room, and a massaging bath area. Our spa service person Alexa made sure we were relaxed, hydrated and comfortable. We loved her!! I also had a deep tissue massage by Estella that was fantastic. The food was the best I have ever experienced at an all inclusive. All the restaurants were good but we loved the French restaurant the best. We had chicken cordon blue, duck a l'orange, and the braised beef. For dessert, crepes with ice cream. Amazing! Our servicers Antonio and another man with a long name I don't remember were THE BEST! In addition, the rooms were very well appointed and we had a wonderful view. I would definitely recommend this resort and look forward to checking out other Secret destinations!
