What travellers are saying
- Thomas VOakland, CA16,992 contributionsThis covered municipal market serves this local area. You won't find a lot of tourists here, but you will find a lot of food to buy. Nice displays. Some market cafes surround it.Written October 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Janni G49 contributionsAlot to listen. AUDIO GUIDE with Chips with a b and c Option. Quite unique in Barcelona. Big Museum with a lot of exponates and history.Written December 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland63,299 contributionsFascinating to discover that it is actually a 1980s reconstruction of the original 1929 structure. The latter was hastily demolished in 1930, with a year not having elapsed since its debut for the International Fare.
Four varieties of marble and golden onyx are used throughout giving it an exceptional beauty. Combined with copious glass and tranquil water features, it’s an engaging attraction.
Figurative sculptures provide further interest.Written March 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It provides a lovely backdrop for pictures, but you’ll be hard-pressed to not have other people in your pictures.Written June 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jim mHolymoorside, UK1,180 contributionsInteresting, beautiful and full of atmosphere. You need some time to take it all in as it is bigger than first thought and the ticket price reflects that.Written December 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland63,299 contributionsA famous place and the final resting area for legions down the years.
Impressive memorials of all varieties are here. In the Sunday morning tranquillity it was thoughtful walking around and seeing all the heartfelt remembrances.Written April 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very difficult to find anything without mobile internet:). In the end found Parc Guell. - andream0402Melbourne, Australia3,970 contributionsWe actually went to this museum by accident. We had been trying to find MOCO. We didn’t regret it for a minute. There is currently an exhibition on by Mark Tennant which is excellent. I believe it ends May 12th.
The other exhibits were just amazing. I’m no art specialist but it was hard to tell what were photographs and what was painted or drawn. Incredible work.
Very close to the Picasso museum. €13 entry.Written April 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was significantly bigger than I thought it would be, with so many intricate details to look at. The emergency measures caused by the ongoing drought meant the fountains were not operating, but it was still amazing to behold. A lovely place to take pictures.Written May 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ms_R33480Palm Beach, FL736 contributionsThis is not a huge market but it has a good selection of meats, fish, vegetables, charcuterie, etc. And unlike many of the larger markets in the center of Barcelona this one doesn't cater to tourists, most of the shoppers are locals. There is even a wine stand that sells wine directly from the barrels.
Products tend to be fresh and of good quality and prices average for the area. The floor below the market holds Mercadona, a very large supermarket with everything one may need.
Try to have lunch at one of the several dinning areas, many of which are an extension of the merchant's stands, they have only a few tables, or in some cases you can eat at the counter. We had a great menu del dia at MB's in a corner of the market, attached to a butcher's shop with about 8 small tables. Good food, well prepared, three plates and a drink for 16.50 euros. The service was excellent, friendly and on top of everything, they actually cared that you enjoyed your meal.Written November 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Really I could not believe the number of rooms and collections, and the amount of STUFF displayed! It would have been boring if it wasn't so amusing. Thousands of pipes, thousands of fans, thousands of all sorts of items. Entertaining!Written June 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA16,992 contributionsFull of people, tourists and otherwise. It's a long somewhat pedestrian area in the center of town in the midst of a lot of shops and big stores. Also plenty of places to sit and have a cup of coffee. Shaded and pleasant.Written April 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dylan n1 contributionIt was very fun and educational. I learned a lot and enjoyed all the exhibitions. My family also had a lot of fun. I would reccomend to others.Written July 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stravi20Houston, TX74 contributionsThe Rambla offers the family atmosphere of a small town with all the accessibility and benefits of a big city. Great walk with the family after a great meal and dessert from local providers and restaurants. There are supermarkets, pharmacies and plenty of restaurants/bars.
Plenty of variety and options. The beach is about a 6-10 minute walk, there are hotels, hostels and plenty of airbnb options around. Transportation is accessible, from public to private. Parking might be a difficulty in the street specially if you are not local to traffic rules.
As a family, this is a great place to chose for a short or long stay, 15 minutes from Barcelona and 6-10 minute walk from the beach.Written June 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A very nice area for a sea front stroll.Written June 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
