Three floors. The ground floor furniture and home goods design was excellent. Well presented and curated.

The graphics display of advertising and publicity was all good.

The top floor of ladies costume from 1600 was also good.

Wheelchair access inside is disjointed. The lifts are operator controlled, so you have to go find a staff member to move between floors

We really enjoyed the time at Museu del Dissey, The temporary exhibition on women designers was very good. The permanent exhibit on the 50’s and 60’a was very good. We easily spent 2 hours at this museum if you are planning.

After refreshments in the downstairs Café spent time perusing the engaging displays. Consisting of a trio of themes, found them quite interesting.

Everyday Life in the City had household paraphernalia plus items such as older TVs and designed chairs. Understandably there was content celebrating the glory days of the 1992 Olympics.

Modernism and decorative arts had exquisite exhibits over some centuries.

Finally, Dressing the Body showed a concentration, it hardly needs saying, on the female figure. Costumes and fashions from 1550 till recently had exhibits encompassing constraints and otherwise on women down the eras.

All in a remarkable modern build close to skyscraper Torre Glòries – Agbar.

Fantastic design museum. Four floors of very different stuff taking you through a history of Catalan design. The modernist stuff is amazing and beautifully displayed. The visual design floor was really interesting - loved the Olympics posters. Great cafe as well.

Each of the 4 floors of this museum is geared towards a specific theme related to design.
I especially enjoy the evolution of fashion, with its beautiful costumes, haute couture, underwear, brasieres, etc, etc!
This time, on the ground floor, there was an incredibly interesting exhibit on the importance of wood from prehistoric times to nowadays!
Very well done with artifacts as well as videos of craftsmen making tools out of wood. And a life size model of an ecological house.
Hats Off!

I am very interested in design and it was a very enriching experience. Despite not beeing aware that two of the permanent exhibitions were closed, Product and Graphic desing (which I deeply wanted to visit), the museum kept me hooked on many of the pieces that I could gaze at.
Moreover, it is also fantastic that the ticket I bought was worth for two visits. This gives me the opportunity to go back to some temporary art and architecture exhibitions that were not available on the day of my visit.
Maybe adding the description of each object in other languages could make it easier for visitors who don't speak Catalan.

It was recommended to me by a local and I didn't know what to expect. When I arrived, I discovered the museum is separated on four floors, each with a different theme. I like art and design and found both in size, scale and fun here. From gadgets to furniture to clothing...I could have spent more time at this museum. It was definitely worth the visit, is affordable, is easy to reach by metro or on foot (if you like to walk) and I recommend it. And there are cafes and bars nearby if you need a break before or after.

I visit design and modern art museums in almost every city I visit. I was mostly interested in the visual communication exhibition and it was quite disappointing. Most of the pieces are in catalan but apart from that the exhibition lacks of explanations and links towards political context, artistic trends and influences. It makes of explanations about evolution of colors, images and typefaces throughout the time and its link towards society, industry and culture. You can only see pieces and it’s author in a timeline. Avoid waiting your time.

Modern, bright, spacious and well-curated museum. Lots of familiar objects from the past, plus a great exhibition on the evolution of clothing design.
