This place is fantastic, we had pretty low expectations, it's website doesn't sell itself that well. It is a huge complex and it is a cross between the science museum, the natural history museum and the sea life center, great place to take young and big kids, kept us well entertained for several hours to escape the heat. Really worth the visit, so many interesting visual explanations and tests to show all manner of all the sciences, highly recommend.

We spent three hours here with a two year old, who was entertained by the rain forest, and the escalators. Very affordable, call on a hot summer day, clean bathrooms, healthy cafeteria. We took a taxi, which made the trip easy with a toddler. I only wish they had an outdoor or indoor play area, since many of the exhibit were digital rather than a hands-on, so better for slightly older children.

Unsure where we were going in the taxi, we arrived at an enormous complex ready for the unknown. They didn’t disappoint. No stone has been left unturned in this amazing science celebration. If your children weren’t interested in science they will be after this visit. Truly wonderful and memorable & I might have learned a thing of two !!

As the father of 4, science museums are a way of life. Everywhere we go, we look at whether there's a science museum, b/c it's usually a fun activity. I won't even begin to name all of the big city science museums we've been to around the world, but there I've never seen anything on the level of the CosmoCaixa! We spent 3 hours there this morning, and easily could've spent another 3-4. It's huge, state of the art, and incredibly interesting. And, I say this as a guy who isn't generally enthused about visiting science museums. But, this one is incredible. It even has an aquarium section, that uses animals to teach about evolution, ecosystems, adaptability, etc. One thing to be aware of....while many science museums cater to small kids, and are boring for older kids, this one is the opposite. We brought our 7 & 9 year olds. The 9 y/o was into the science, but the 7 y/o was primarily interested just in the bright lights & moving objects. There are displays for quantum physics, sub-atomic particles, etc. So, it's pretty advanced. And a lot of the interactive displays require a decent amount of strength. I wouldn't come with kids under 7. They'll be amused, but only in the same way little kids are amused by getting to push the buttons in an elevator. They won't care at all for the science, why things work, etc. I was glad we left our younger kids elsewhere.

I feel this place is criminally underrated. I visited in the afternoon of a weekday and it was relatively quiet. My friend and myself went not knowing what to expect and ended up spending the better most of 3 hours here! Very fun, very interactive, great appeal for kids as well as grownups. Everything is wrote in many languages for tourists to enjoy. Currently looks like they are working on a dinosaur display. The flooded forest section was a particular favourite part. I'd highly suggest this to anyone remotely interested in any form of science, although my friend who isn't so interested in it thoroughly enjoyed herself and how interactive everything is. Great for kids and adults! Unfortunately didn't have time to book the planetarium but it needs to be booked in advance (can be done when buying entry tickets or online) - definitely looked worth it!

Note that about 90% of the exhibits are on the bottom floor so make sure to take your time there and not rush to other floors. We spent 2:30h and I feel like we got to interact with most of the exhibits. Some parts of the museum to be reserved for school activities only. Great place for learning but also just admiring the exhibits. Although I study a scientific subject in uni I still had a lot of fun and managed to discover at least one new fact. The exhibits shine through their interactive nature. The little habitat including trees , fish and birds was gorgeous. Great place for people of all ages who have a curious nature.

This place is amazing! A huge building with umpteen exhibits to suit all ages. The museum has a dinosaur section with some fantastic skeletons, a wildlife area recreating a rainforest with fish/birds/reptiles/mammals and flora. Other areas include the evolution of man, how the human brain and body works and tens of interactive displays from Newton's cradles to sound waves to how volcanoes form. We didn't go in the planetarium as didn't realise it was extra €6 each. The cafe was reasonably priced. The only negative was the half hour queue to pay and the walk up the steep hill to get there (there is a tram/bus though). We spent about 4 hours there and still didn't see it all.

It was really fascinating experience for us both me and my husband. We visited on March 25 at about 16:00 and spent about 10 minutes in line. 6 euro per person only, I would have paid even more. There are fish, plants, an aquarium, animals, dinosaur skeletons, and interactive stands explaining the laws of physics. We spent about three hours at the exhibition. There is also a cafe for snacks, clean toilets, and free lockers for coats or bags.

Visited as a family of 4 with our two children. Had a great time. The exhibits were interactive and interesting, and the kids really enjoyed it, especially the dinosaur bones and the interactive exhibits. Something for everyone there, and the food was reasonably priced and quite tasty at lunch time in the square.

What an amazing science museum this is. So much to see and do with so many interactive displays. It's not just boards of text (though there are information boards explaining the display) but instead it's more like you're doing experiments so that you can understand what it's trying to show. The flooded rainforest in particular is simply amazing. The best museum we've been to and the highlight of our trip to Barcelona
