The area
Address
Neighbourhood: El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.

    A must….
This was a last minute decision to visit, we hadn’t planned or pre booked but so glad we did. Probably our favourite Gaudi experience. Definitely value for money… price includes a head seat guide. Wasn’t busy like the park & sagrada. Very interesting & worth a visit.

    More Gaudi magic
Tucked down a side street, Nou de Rambla off the tourist thoroughfare. My hotel was almost dead opposite but didn't spot it for 2 days. It doesn't stand out from the outside but like everything Gaudi it's stunning and dont miss the roof, where the coloured tile madness

    Well worth a visit.
This place is amazing in every respect. The interior is stunning, so much to see. Not crowded, reasonably quiet and because you have your own audio guide, plenty of time to stand and stare. We visited at 10.30am and went straight in, no queue for tickets or for entry. Well worth a visit.

Don’t miss it if you love Gaudì.
We were favorably impressed. It doesn’t look like much from the street, but what a marvel inside. Also, this is not an apartment building, or a cathedral, but one family’s home. Amazing what he has done, including a stable downstairs and fancy chimneys on top. Audio guide included, and valuable.

    Great house, avoid your groups
I loved the house - not a place I’d want to live but the architectural design is fantastic. I rated it only a 4 though because we were there at the same time as a large guided group - and the property is not large enough for such groups. In addition, there are not enough toilets.

    Left Us Speechless
The Park Guell is AMAZING and needs to be seen with a competent guide to truly appreciate what you are seeing. It was astounding that this beautiful 47 acre park was designed and created in 1900. If you are in Barcelona, you MUST visit Park Guell

    A little more serious Gaudi
This site is very different from other Gaudi works. It is less playful and fairytale-like and more traditional. It more resembles the more serious houses of other top-class businessmen. Except for the typical Gaudi chimneys! If you want to see the essence of Gaudi, probably not the top pick. If you want to see more of his work and compare to his later and more bold creations, Guell palace is a great place to go. Except Casa Batlló and Casa Mila the price here is very affordable. Interesting is the owner of this house Guell is the same person, who comissioned creation of Guell park. It is a shame, you do not learn more about the family and why they decided to move their living into park.

    Gorgeous in La Rambla
This little palace should not be missed on your visit to Barcelona. From the moment you walk through the front gate you are mesmerized by the ironwork, stone and wood work. The pictures do not do it justice!! Gaudi created an amazing work of art here. Also, it’s a lot less expensive and less busy than the other houses. We walked right up to the ticket office and paid 12€ and that included an audio guide in the language of your choice. Amazing visit from the basement stables to the rooftop chimneys!!!

    A+ visit
Good value especially when compared to other Gaudi houses. 12 euro includes audio fire. Not as crowded either. Loved this place.. amazing architecture and atmosphere. Took about 1.5 hours to see it all slowly.

    Hidden gem
In a sidestreet and easily missed, this beautiful building is an amazing example of Gaudi's early work. I'd recommend studying the (English) brochure before you start, as it's easy to get confused by the audio guide and lose your place, so to speak. The building would have been very impressive with more furniture - apparently most of it went elsewhere when the building was vacated - but still an interesting 1.5-2 hours. Very helpful staff offered the use of the tiny lift to help with our creaky limbs and the many stairs. No queues in January, so no need to buy your tickets in advance at this time of year. I'd have scored it 5* were it not for the fact that we were refused concession tickets (65+) because we were not EU residents!

An extraordinary building of Gaudi. One of his first projects.
The audio guide was very informative.
You can learn a lot about the artist and the Spanish culture

Walked right up and got tickets immediately. Family of 4 (two teenagers). All were interested and there was a lot to see. Nice to be able to explore and enjoy without a crowd. Nice views from the roof.

Well, we went to Palau Guell because our original plan got rained out. We are so glad it rained because we loved this site! We hadn't done any research other than to know it was designed by Anton Gaudi and others had said it was worth a visit. Another lucky chance was that it was our first Gaudi stop on this trip, although we had seen some of his other sites previously. It was like seeing Picasso's early works; the style is much darker than either La Sagrada Familia or La Pedrera. We arrived at 10:30 on a Sunday without advanced tickets and got a spot for 11:30. Tickets ended up being $26 for 2 senior adults. When our time came, we walked right in and were handed the audioguide. The building was not crowded and there were plenty of staff to help with directions. Just note that there are a lot of stairs. We were fortunate that the rain had stopped in time for us to visit the roof and there was noticeable movement as soon as they opened it. There are great views. This was a terrific visit.

We loved exploring here. The architecture and details are fantastic. Another Gaudi masterpiece! We did not buy our tickets in advance and there were no lines to get in when we visited (around 6pm on a Tuesday). FYI that the ticket office is a few doors down from the entry to the Palau itself. The ticket price is very reasonable and came with an audio guide that we found informative.

Palace Guell is well worth a visit if you have the time. $12 for a standard ticket gets you in to explore this fascinating building. You can buy a skip the line ticket online but we just turned up and bought one on the day.
The building has so much intricate detail and impressive architecture.
It’s hard to know where to look first .

Really enjoyed our visit to Palau Guell. The entry is well priced and comes with a helpful audio guide. The house itself is beautiful and although one of Gaudi’s earliest works it still has the innovative and surprising elects of his architecture. Well worth a visit!

Our third Gaudi building of the day after Bellesguard and Casa Vicens. Of the three it's the least impressive but still well worth visiting in its own right. The entry fee (2023) of 9 euro per person was good and if you timed it right you could even join a free guided tour.

The decor is a little less colourful than other Gaudi buildings but the view up to the ceiling once you enter and go up the main steps is pretty spectacular.

The only downside was it was real busy on the day we went, which I assume is usual but it made the tours a little difficult to hear and get good views of what was being talked about.

In short any Gaudi is a good way to spend a few hours.

Worth a visit, it has interesting architecture in the main entry, the attic was amazing, and of course the roof with the elaborate chimneys is a treat!
