We went to check out #irx2024 yesterday. It was surprising that the wider supporting industry knows little about 3D eCommerce. The PPC agencies we spoke to thought it was a relic of the past. Quicktime 360s, anyone? The retailers thought it was an expensive fad and would rather buy more ads. "What do you expect someone to do after the click on the ad?" "Retarget them another ad." 3D eCommerce does one thing really well - Increase conversations by 40%... Simple or complex products... 40%... https://lnkd.in/eBktr9D4

One of the really interesting things about having both brands and agencies using Macaroni Software is being to able to compare the levels of activity for both. What we're seeing so far is agencies use it to deliver the same amount of work in a fraction of the time that they were before. Brands though are not limiting themselves. They are doing huge amounts of updates - sometimes more than 1k per week in terms of mapping keywords, on-page optimisation, creating new pages and content and building internal links. The results, unsurprisingly, are much, much better. Our goal now is to encourage agencies to not just do the work they were doing for their retainer in an hour each month, but do double or triple in 2-3 hours.

Google won’t index websites that do not work on mobile devices after July 5th.... If your website is not accessible using a mobile device, then Google will no longer index it and rank it. We thought Google’s mobile-first indexing initiative, which started in 2016, was completed last October. But it won’t really be fully done until after July 5th. “The small set of sites we’ve still been crawling with desktop Googlebot will be crawled with mobile Googlebot after July 5, 2024,” John Mueller from Google wrote on the Google blog. Mueller explained: “The largest part of the web is already being crawled like this, and there is no change in crawling for these sites.” However, “after July 5, 2024, we’ll crawl and index these sites with only Googlebot Smartphone.” So if your site is not accessible using a mobile device, then Google “will no longer” index it and thus rank it. Mobile accessibility is required for Google indexing. Yes, Mueller wrote, “If your site’s content is not accessible at all with a mobile device, it will no longer be indexable.” This is a long time coming. Google has finally drawn a line in the sand for sites that simply do not render on mobile. This doesn’t mean Google won’t index your site if it isn’t mobile-friendly. What Google is saying is that if your site simply does not render or load on mobile devices, then Google won’t index it. If you have a desktop template only, it is fine, assuming the desktop version loads on a mobile device. Some desktop crawling to continue. Google said that Google still sometimes uses the Googlebot Desktop crawler for product listings and for Google for Jobs. This means you may still see Googlebot Desktop in your server logs and reporting tools. What to do. One thing SEO's can't agree on at BrightonSEO... 🤐 SGE... (Search Generative Experience) Whilst attending brightonSEO there's a lot of talk on whether SGE will become a prominent part of the search experience going forward... And if it does, the threat is that between 20-60% of your search traffic will decline... Here's my opinion... It won't happen.. Google as a business makes money through ads. SGE distrupts that model. You've also got the issue of web masters potentially suing Google for 'stealing' their content for SGE, which inevitably snatches revenue/leads away from many businesses. Lawsuits for this are already happening across the globe... But Google can just use A.I for SGE can't they? They can. But that makes their product worse. And that, in my opinion, is way too risky for Google at this time. So be ready for SGE and optimise for it. But don't put all of your bets down that it's the future of search, because there's a very good chance it won't be as big as you think. What are your thoughts? Let me know below 👇

Google hates broken links and so do users. This is a bit of an old school SEO tool but it works! Run your website through this tool to find any broken links and make sure you fix them up so everyone has a happy experience. https://lnkd.in/eXmaaZT

Bing Ads are sunsetting manual CPC bid strategy and defaulting to enhanced CPC as of 30th April. If you're keen to keep your CPC below a certain level, your base bids will still be honoured. Don’t usually see Bing make a move like this before Google! Interesting
