[ 3 things we do (and that you can too) to keep people on your website. 💻 ]
When we design and develop new websites for clients, we take a balanced approach. Balance between helping the end-user through the site, while building trust and making sure they find what they need fast.
It’s interesting - the faster they find the info they want, the longer they stay on the site - sweeping generalisation, but you get what I mean.
Here are 3 basic principles we work with:

Know what the client is going to be looking for.
Then make it fool-proof, fast, and fuss-free for them to find it eg:
– Your signature product? Make it a highlight feature. So they can’t miss it.
– How it works? Give it a section of its own on the home page, which links to a visual (when trying to simplify a process, nothing works like a diagram)
– They want to call you? Phone number at the top right, and make sure to use a sticky header so it’s displayed all the time.
2.
Show yourselves.
The second most popular page on most websites is the About Us page. Customers want to know who you are, what you are about, if you are real. This is a massive opportunity to build trust, build the benefits of your business into the narrative, show your vision.
3.
Control the flow of information.
This is primarily for the home page.
Starting at the top with a killer headline that encompasses what you do, why you do it, and what’s in it for the customer.
As the page flows, tell the story of the business, the products, the benefits, the clients you have worked with, your accreditations, what people say - take them through your offering the way you want to.
