The stadium is spacious and unlike Wembley you don’t have to apply for a second mortgage to buy a beer and a hotdog! The security staff were friendly and helpful, all good here!Visited July 2023Written July 25, 2023
- TaurusMomIowa686 contributionsInteresting StadiumsWe visited on a very windy April day. It's odd that you have to pay to view the track stadium, but you have to check out the toilets. I have never seen so many stalls in a women's restroom ANYWHERE. And I have been to a lot of stadiums. :) The stadium was lovely. I am glad that they still use all the venues. Not sure this is Must See, but the Memorial definitely is.Visited April 2023Written July 27, 2023
- Victoria189 contributionsAmazingly beautiful viewsThis extensive park was the site of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. Some of the venues, like the Aquatic Center, are still in use. There's a lot you can visit, some free, others for a fee. You can, for example, enter the stadium and take a tour of the rooftop or zip line across the stadium, or both - but you need to pay to do so. There are some free activities as well. The 1972 massacre memorial is located at the north of the park and is a sobering, but respectful memorial of the tragedy that took place here. The absolute best thing to do is climb up the hill, made from the rubble from the war, to get views of the entire park and of Munich itself. If it's a clear day and you're lucky, there's an optical illusion that occurs that makes the Alps appear like they're right next to the city - it's an absolutely stunning view. The park also hosts some events. There are concerts, but also other festivals such as the summer Tollwood Festival, which is a ton of fun. SeaLife is located right in the park. The BMW headquarters and museum are right adjacent. Easy access to the center of Munich via UBahn.Visited July 2023Travelled soloWritten August 29, 2023

Had a fab day weather wise so went up the tower (€13.50) for the amazing views of the city and Alps in the distance. Nice coffee shop there to grab a brew and take the views in. Highly recommend 👌🏻Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten September 27, 2023
- holgerrommenBrussels, Belgium2 contributionsGreat site, water scarce and overpriced. It is amazing that after more than 50 years, this is a site that looks modern and beautiful at the same time. Definitely worth a visit. Though, take drinking water. There is some unnecessary artificial scarcity of drinking water in the area. Prices are ridiculously high. And queues are incredibly long. Munich, you should know that you can do better!Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten December 31, 2023
- WriterJaneNew York81 contributionssporting and somberI visited to see both the stadium and other venues and the memorial for the Israeli athletes who were killed in 1972. There were multiple memorials, including at the apartment building on Connollystrasse which had been part of the Olympic Village. (It's a bit of a walk, but a direct line of sight with the more in-depth video memorial.)Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten December 31, 2023
- MissMercury_1Wolverhampton, United Kingdom254 contributionsA lovely place for a walk!My best friend and I are big Queen fans and we visited the Olympic Park mainly to see the Olympiahalle where Queen played 7 times in their career (with Freddie) It felt very special to see it but unfortunately when we visited (20th Jan 2024) we couldn't get close to it as there was building work going on. The Olympic Park is HUGE. We were only able to see a small part of it as we were time restricted due to having a large itinerary but it's a really lovely place for a walk. We also saw the TV tower and glimpsed part of the Olympic stadium itself. The park was very clean and a popular spot. It's quite far out from the city centre by public transport but I'd definitely recommend a visit!Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten January 22, 2024

The site of many events during the 1972 Olympics, the park is a wonderful place to explore. Among the hills and lakes are many activities and amenities for the whole family, including swimming, boat rides, a zip line, food kiosks, and a beer garden. Unfortunately, the Olympic Tower was closed for renovations when we visited, but we otherwise enjoyed exploring the park.

Euro Fan Zone poorly managed and not able to cope with volume of people. 2 hour queue for drinks - just one man pulling pints in each of 2 bars. 1 hour queue for food. Long queues to return cups and get refunds. Insufficient toilet facilities for number of people with long queues. Inadequate security -
No checks upon entering yet later on there was checks. Some people got their bags in and some had them taken off them - Very inconsistent. Overall poor customer experience, overcrowded and poorly managed resources/facilities. Very inefficient. I would not recommend for the euros

Overall a well maintained and very big park but 1 water, 1 Coca Cola and 1 Fanta to go 14.25€€€. Robbery. Don’t forget to get your own water and drinks people if you plan to visit!

Absolutely stunning environment - great place to walk, jog or cycle - unless you want to see the stadium (which is worthwhile to see as well) the admission to the park is free of charge

With a few hours to spear on our last day in Munich, I decided to take the U-Bahn to “Olympiazentrum” and see the BMW museum. My wife decided to stay in the hotel and rest.
The U-Bahn station places you behind the touristed BMW Welt exhibition. You have to cross over a bridge to get to the Olympic Park. Just before the bridge, though, there is a large area for out door volleyball. On the day of my visit, all 20 courts and more were being played on.
I had no intention of seeing the 1972 Olympic Park. As it goes, the BMW buildings and the Olympic Park are literally side-by-side. It is easy to visit both venues.
Many of the Olympic buildings are covered with a “tensile membrane roof.” This type of engineering cost over a billion marks.
It was an easy walk to see the famous Olympic Aquatic Center. It was here that the American swimmer, Mark Spitz, would win his 7 Gold Medals.
There is a beautiful pond to walk around. An outdoor fitness facility attracts the young.
I was attracted to climb that huge hill. Rubble from WWII was placed here making this mound. There is now grass and trees. The 15-minute doable walk will reward you with an impressive sight overlooking Munich, the Olympic Village and the BMW complex. This is a popular view point and you will probably not be alone. A beer popular beer garden is down the hill.
My wife after hearing my adventures now wants to see this famous area. I guess a trip back to Munich is instore. We would incorporate this time in going to the 955-foot communication tower and eating at the 182-meter-high restaurant. Over 35 million people have visited the tower.

I'm going to see Olivia Rodrigo on the 7th of June, and I'm wondering if I'm available to bring in a power bank, and also what size bag can I take inside? If bags are allowed at all.
Written June 3, 2024
Are there areas to sit outside the stadium when there are concerts playing? There are quite a few artists playing over the duration of my stay and wondering if we will be able to sit outside the stadium to listen? Thank you

Please check with the concert management or their hotline. I won't know because I am not the concert organiser or concert management.

We are going today to see Panic At The Disco -concert at The Olympiahalle in München.
Where we can put our packbags during The concert?
After the concert, we are heading to the Airport, so we must have our belongings with us.
Is Olympiahalle have some kind of lockers?

Is there in and/or nearby olympiapark a free parking zone?

We have booked to see Guns and Roses (seated tickets) are children allowed 13 and 8?
Written December 31, 2019
Yes, they allow children with parental supervision.

I'm seeing Elton John and at the Olympiahalle next week. Does the venue allow people to take in handbags? I've read conflicting reviews and there doesn't seem to be an answer on their direct website.
Cheers.

Hi, to be honest I'm not sure?
If it's like most other venues you can but they will be searched!
Hope this helps?

Has anyone gone sledding at the Olympic park? Do you have to have your own sleds or can you rent them?
Written August 1, 2018
We were only there in the spring, summer, and fall. It was very warm. Lots of cyclists, hikers, and picnic-era, but was never there in the winter. Since there are some very steep hills, it could be a place to sled, though. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.
