The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center offers a vibrant and festive atmosphere that can be simultaneously enchanting and overwhelming, according to guests. While the hotel boasts a range of amenities, including diverse dining options, stunning atriums, and a water park, some travelers feel these are overpriced and have noted maintenance concerns. Opinions on the hotel's location are divided; it's great for events but not ideal for downtown excursions. The rooms often receive criticism for noise, cleanliness, and general upkeep. Service quality also varies, with reports of both friendly and unresponsive staff encounters.

The place is enormous. It is so big that you have to download an app to your phone to navigate your way around. It advertises as “a place with everything under one roof” which is indeed true in terms of shops and restaurants. There is a large and well equipped fitness center and spa. There is a water park but it was closed during our stay. The place is impeccably clean and well maintained with lush vegetation and water features under a giant atrium. Bring your wallet because every thing from the parking to the restaurants is pricey. Although they advertise multiple restaurants, some of the places have a limited menu, restricting your choices if you are looking for a full dining experience. It is very close to The Grand Ole Opry and approximately a 15-20 min ride with no traffic to Downtown Nashville.

The Gaylord is awesome. It is a sight to see. Plenty of joy awaits for you and family. Downside is very expensive. Extra fees everywhere, car parking, resort fee, room service, water park, restaurants are outrageously expensive expect for small carry outs.

If you are here for a convention you could try staying across the street and walking over each day. Also plenty of restaurants nearby to walk to, much cheaper. Not far walk either. If coming from airport just Uber over.

If you want to stay onsite and have a car stock up on non perishable and a few perishable things (small frig). I brought avocados and berries, made for easy breakfast or lunch by supplementing with a small breakfast sandwich or salad for the grab and go carry outs on site. I also brought water and cold brew and ice teas to drink. I had five days there.

Perhaps get your Uber to take you to grocery store. I went down to Green Hills Whole Foods, unbelievable area.

It was still expensive to stay. Five days was a long time.

We visited the Opry Gaylord as part of the Heart of America Show Choir Competition. They’re we’re about 30 schools with a couple thousand kids and their families competing over a long weekend. We appeared to be two other conferences being hosted the same weekend.

The facilities are like a Vegas casino without the casino. Th ere are multiple large scale atriums with canals, water features, gardens and several shopping/dining areas. All were maintained spotlessly.

We upgraded to an atrium suite with big windows over looking one of the main dining and shopping areas. Although they’re was a fairly constant din of sound durning the day it wasn’t intrusive and everything was near silent at night. Housekeeping and service was very good and what you’d expect from a flagship Marriott property.

There are at least seven restaurants on property. We are at a couple including the pizza and burger stands and the Mexican restaurant. The food was good, but wasn’t spectacular. But they were all dealing with huge volumes of people.

Our only two complaints were that the restaurants didn’t seem prepared for the volume and lines to get in or get food were really long. And the hotel rolled the carpets up by 11:00 pm even on the weekend. We weren’t trying to party all night, but couldn’t get a drink after our competitions were done. Not everything needed to be open, but c’mon, it’s Nashville and supposed to be fun, not grandmas on a Tuesday night.

Our 12 year old spent a day at the water park. It was pristinely clean, sunny and both the air and water were appropriately warm without feeling like you were in a chlorine chamber. It was good for a days entertainment for him and a friend.

Overall a really good stay, but they could get the food and restaurant service a little better.

What a fun place to stay! It turns out that Nashville is not all that fun in the rain with kids. But when you have a ton of places to walk around indoors and a lot to do in the hotel, who cares about the weather! My kids have loved the indoor pool (and that it is right next to the hot tub), the fountain show in the evening, all the trails/plants and things to look at, the boat ride, the arcade, and all the Pokemon (for Pokemon Go). A lot of people have complained about the extra fees- they were really up front with everything when booking. Due to covid restrictions not all the restaurants or shops are open but we ended up just buying some cereal and milk at the store and having that breakfast (food at the hotel is pricey!). And we have mainly been driving into Nashville to try all the highly recommended restaurants there. We are not planning to do the water park for 2 reasons: we happen to live near an amazing water park already and not all of this water park is open this time of the year. As for the rooms- they are above average and the shower in the king size room is awesome (the one in the 2 queen bed room is a standard bathtub/shower combo). We appreciate that everything is very clean and well lit. Also, the covid measures seem to be followed and it is easy to figure out what is open when and the menus, etc. with the QR codes (which are everywhere and so easy to use).

I want to start by saying the resort was amazing to walk into and we had a wonderful time. This was our first adventure since Covid and almost canceled due to the surge but decided to just do it. When we arrived we were pleased to see everyone in masks. However, we get to our room and my daughter opens the mini fridge and I have to stop her from drinking a leftover Gatorade 🤢. I call the front desk to ensure our room was thoroughly cleaned and they acted like I was ridiculous and offered to send someone to get the bottles from the fridge. I told them no worries, and truly was okay. Well later that night I stumble across the mold next to the fridge and was completely grossed out. My husband was congested the entire time and I can’t help but wonder if it was the mold. We received ZERO compensation and again, it felt like they thought I was ridiculous. We booked back in October and actually went through the resort vs Priceline. Paid premium rates and will not do that again. But outside of the room, the resort is amazing! So much to see and do! Beautiful decorations and so much Christmas cheer.

Stayed a long weekend with family. The hotel itself is beautiful inside. The green-scaping and walkways are fantastic. The rooms are nice but nothing special. Everything was clean. Staff were friendly. The food is horrible. Our first night in we went to the Italian restuarant-Ravello. Ravello's only option was a buffet. Considering the ongoing recovery from COVID and lack of employees, the buffet was understandable. However, the food was very bad. Our group consisted of 5 people, everything everyone plated was cool or lukewarm. I mean everything. Cool roasted potatoes, cold chicken parmesan, luke warm ziti. All items tasted like they had been sitting out all day at a cheap high school reunion dinner. The only item worth eating was the garlic rolls. The next day we were out all day sightseeing and came back and had pizza at Paisano's. The pizza was decent with no complaints. The next morning we checked out and had breakfast at Cascades. Like Ravello's the only option was a buffet. We should have left at that point, but we tried it. $20 got us dry scrambled eggs, cold and dry waffles (if you could call them that) and decent sausage and bacon. Any gas station breakfast would have been better. Do yourself a favor and pass on this resort. Plenty of better options in downtown Nashville. Gaylord claims "everything in one place," and lists magnificent settings, luxurious rooms and world class entertainment. I know why reference to food is missing-because they certainly are wholly lacking in that department. I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member but will never go back to this place.

We loved how big this resort was and the fairly close drive. It's a beautiful place with so much greenery around the property that it makes the space even more luscious and inviting. We came during COVID and it really practiced safety measures which was really important to us. The rooms with the balcony were great as the green space provided some good white noise and relaxation. The rooms were very clean, good options for movies in the room, and SoundWaves was really fun. This resort can be for anyone to enjoy which makes it appealing to various vacationers. The one thing that was a disappointment was the food. We didn't really enjoy any of the food we had and there was limited options.

I took my first trip to Nashville this year and decided to stay at the Gaylord Opryland. The hotel is massive! They have restaurants, fountains, tons of greenery, and all the things to keep you occupied if you aren't ready to go to bed just yet. My favorite was The Falls bar that constantly had live music for guests. Even though there seemed to be an unusually high number of people on site, my room was very quiet. I was in the Cascades section. The rooms there were spacious, comfortable and at an affordable rate. One thing to keep in mind is the Gaylord is about a $20 Uber/Lyft ride from downtown. Also the hotel has a shuttle that will take you to Opry Mills Mall every 90 minutes. You don't really need the shuttle though, it's a quick 15 minute walk if you cut through the parking lot. I enjoyed my stay here. So if you're looking for a place to stay outside of the honky tonks, this is it!

We stayed at Gaylord for a week while at the photography convention last week. The place is massive and truly beautiful. The indoor environment, the plants and sound of waterfalls is truly relaxing . We were very very disappointed however with food in general and restaurants standard. Thousands of photographers poured into convention starting as early as Wednesday last week and half of the restaurants were closed and the once that were open had lines and very slow service. Fuse served very average bar fare but at least no wait for table. The best food I ate the whole week was the Room service breakfast 🍳... basic eggs with bacon 🥓 that was $88 for 2. This size of a convention center should have abundance of restaurants with fantastic food choices. I couldn’t wait to go outside to have a decent meal. If you can , go to the mall short walk across parking lot, where you will find your regular restaurants and you won’t be disappointed.

Very nice hotel, modern rooms with plenty of USB charging, lots of space and clean. Bathroom is a little small but I like that i have an area to actually put things!
Bed was very comfortable and I got a good sleep.
Staff are very pleasant. Hotel is quite big with lots of food and bar choices. Awesome indoor river, waterfall, gardens.
Convention centre is huge with lots of separate rooms which is perfect for focused training sessions.
There is a shuttle bus to and from the airport at a cost of $30 return, which seems to be about half the cost of a taxi. It is about a 25min taxi ride into town.
