My son and I enjoyed our dinner while staying at the Opryland Resort ... I had the burger with fries and he ordered the kid's chicken tenders. We both enjoyed our meal and the server was prompt and always kept our drinks filled. My son's tender with fries was about $10 (kid's menu) and my burger w/fries was approximately $20 --there was a variety of items to choose from.

The servers are very nice and attentive, and quick to bring coffee and orange juice. However, the buffet breakfast is pretty bad. Some runny scrambled egg substitute and other mediocre offerings are not worth the buffet price.

We only visited the gardens; we did not stay here We've been here previously to eat & that made it more worthwhile than simply coming here to wander through the lush gardens, because when you dine onsite you get a voucher for the astronomical parking fees, which is not the case if you simply go there for the gardens. The numerous areas to wander at various times of the year provide hours of relaxing and rejuvenating getaway to leisurely walk among the meticulously cared for plants, trees and flowers that go on for quite a way and two floors. There are surprises around the bend almost everywhere, from waterfalls to sprinklers to rivers to fascinating tropical trees. It feels like you are worlds away from the everyday world, and they decorate everything according to the season or holiday, which makes it a different experience at different times of the year. A nice treat to get away from other, more common touristy spots.

We visited Cascades on our first day at Gaylord for breakfast and were sorely disappointed for breakfast for $70 for 2 adults and a child. The servers were all attentive and friendly, but the food was 1 notch above free breakfast at a Courtyard or Marriott concierge lounge. Think: powdered eggs, low quality bacon and frozen potatoes. The fruit was fresh at least.

Gaylord Opryland tries to market itself as a true resort that you never have to leave. Trust me, leave for better food. The breakfast buffet ($20) was outshined by any gas station breakfast I've ever had. Maybe stay at the hotel but do yourself a favor and don't eat there.

Cascades American Cafe has a wonderful atmosphere and outstanding service. When trying to decide my choice for dinner, my waiter, Salah, highly recommended the salmon, which was a perfect choice. It was very tender and served over a delicious bed of rice with vegetables. My husband ordered a steak that was also prepared just as he requested. As the manager, David, greeted us at our table, my husband complimented about the food and service of our waiter. David told us that Salah had been at Cascades American Cafe for 20 years. I thought Salah's service deserved recognition. Both the server and the manager were very attentive to our table, and the food was prepared in a timely manner. This restaurant was an excellent choice for our first night on vacation.

Food was average, service was below average, price was ridiculous. There was nothing special about this dining experience. You are limited with breakfast options in this hotel therefore don't have much of a choice for breakfast if you don't want to Uber to another location.

We were able to get a seat with only waiting 20 minutes. A very relaxing atmosphere. It's just a little hard to hear each other with the waterfalls. My wife had the chicken ceasar salad. She loved it. My son and I both had shrimp and grits. Slightly spicy but we both loved it. We also got cornbread muffins as an appetizer, 5 muffins in an order and they were great. The service was ok, not great for Opryland standards. We'll try them again. The prices are on the higher end but that is expected here.

Our large family group of 12 had breakfast here on Saturday 7/3, Sunday 7/4, Monday 7/5 and Tuesday 7/6. The breakfast buffet was awesome and ideal for our group with our various early morning activities. Your restaurant was very accommodating to our large family group of 12 people, only one day did we have to sit at 2 separate tables. Our servers, Saad (7/3 and 7/6), Myrtie (7/4) and Mike (7/5) were awesome, friendly and very attentive to our group's needs. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

We were told 25 minute wait even though we seen several seatings that were vacant. We were seating about 27 minutes and walking through there were still several empty tables. Throughout our dinner many tables remained empty, which is why I don’t understand an almost thirty minute wait to be seated around noon. We started with artichoke dip and baguette , the Baguettes had burn spots in every one. Te were 6 slices with less than quarter cup my husband had a Mediterranean salad. It basically was multiple colored tomatoes and bib lettuce leaves. They were not even cut for easy eating. Overall I would have to say skip that salad. He also had the salmon which was served with two tiny asparagus sprigs that were thinner than a pencil. The flavor was good but way over priced for the amount. I had the chicken salad sandwich, the bread was AMAZING! There was about three tablespoons of chicken salad, no flavor and very runny. The French fries were pretty good! We also had two sodas. Total bill was almost $160. I didn’t understand because we were told to add the tip to the receipt before he had us sign. When he cam back it had the tip listed as other and then another line for tip, very strange! The service was extremely slow and not very attentive.

Inside the Gaylord Opryland Resort near the main entry sits the Cascades American Cafe. We went for brunch on a Sunday morning and had about a 20 minute wait to be seated. They take your phone number to contact you so you can wander the garden area nearby. The cafe overlooks fountains, water features and beautiful well kept tropical gardens. We were called at about the time expected and were seated and given place settings and started with fresh coffee. Our server immediately pointed out the buffet and brought me a plate of creamer. The buffet consisted of biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, waffles, grits (with cheese), oatmeal (with toppings), fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits and pastries. I asked for hot sauce to spice up my food. We had biscuit and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon - all cooked perfectly! Also enjoyed a bowl of grits with cheddar cheese and a cup of fresh fruit. We were both plenty satisfied and filled enough to skip lunch. Our coffee and water were kept filled by our server, and as we finished up he offered coffee to go. Great place for a fun, scenic filling and delicious brunch.

We ate lunch on a Saturday, the general area was pretty busy with guests of the hotel checking in and out. On the plus side, the scenery is amazing, the service was very good and the food was a bit better than ok. On the negative side, it was very cold inside, very noisy, and the price is not worth the food nor location. $160 for 4x adults, one child - for lunch. And lets add the $54 for parking - yes we used valet but that is because the hotel makes parking a struggle and adventure. So over $200 for a lunch with 4 adults. Not recommended, there are plenty of other nice lunch places in the general area that can feed 4x for a lot less than half the $$. Yes the inside is pretty nice, but wait until the holidays to visit (after eating somewhere else) and park for free in the nearby lots for the mall.

We came for lunch & were seated in a lush tropical garden next to a waterfall. Cocktail menu was huge, lunch 1 page. We choose a burger & chicken salad sandwich. Service was attentive, lunch was delicious & they validated our $34 parking.

Steer clear of the Cascades restaurant at the Gaylord! The upselling, overpriced drinks, and incorrect orders made our dining experience a total disappointment. Obviously the Gaylord has a captive audience and I suspect they figured people won’t be coming back. We are at Cascades because there was no wait and it was convenient not to leave the resort. The waiter started off by upselling. Our daughters were at the opposite end of the table and he highly recommended the strawberry lemonade so they said ok as young children they had no clue it would be $12 per glass. My husband’s food came out wrong. It was corrected after the whole table was finished eating. It took 25 minutes for 4 grilled shrimp that were left off a salad. Even the service fell short when our daughter couldn't stomach the chicken soup, and we told the waiter but he just simply took it away without a word. Save your time and money; opt for a local restaurant with better food and service. Left with a feeling that Marriott got us this time. I am normally a huge supporter of Marriott hotels.

We went to Nashville to shop at the outlet mall. When we reached there my sister in law took me and my niece to Cascades for breakfast. First thing you get free parking if you dine here. The hotel was stunning. You sat with a beautiful view of the waterfalls. The breakfast buffet was too good. Each of us ordered different omelettes and coffee. Everything was delicious. There was a wide choice of breads, cereals, eggs, hot dishes and fruits. A must visit in Nashville
