We ate here for our anniversary - and it was hands down the best restaurant experience we've had. Everyone was knowledgeable and extremely friendly and personable. (And even sweetly complied with requests for photos)We actually arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation and were seated immediately. We decided to try the wine and cheese pairing and Kimberly helped us choose an excellent assortment. We loved everything she chose for us. Each cheese had an accompanying sweet to pair with it (honeycomb and nuts, apple, dried mango, fig jam). Our sommelier, Andrew, chose the perfect wine for us for our meal, a sparkling red. And our waiter, Keroles, could not have done a better job. We had the seared scallops appetizer, the 8 oz filet - cooked perfectly to medium - with a bourbon au poivre sauce (and the roasted garlic on the side melted in my mouth), with the mashed potatoes and roasted carrots for our sides. The chocolate cake we were served as an anniversary dessert was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.

After the hustle and bustle of the Christmas tourist crowd, Old Hickory was a welcome reprieve. Sitting on the patio (inside the atrium) you are completely removed from the crowd noise. It was the one restaurant in the hotel where guests actually dressed for dinner was very welcoming. Great meal, great service, and great evening

I would give 10 stars if there was such an option! The ambiance was remarkable, the food AMAZING and the service was impeccable!! My husband and I did not have reservations, so we sat in the bar. It was the best choice we made! Our server, Vanessa, was incredible! Friendly, feisty, and very observant. When my husband's steak wasn't cooked the way he asked, she noticed (with no prompting from him) and offered to correct it. Exquisite service at its finest! Reservations highly recommended, but ask for Vanessa- it is worth it!

This atmosphere was nice you are at Gaylord. However we went in December and it was cold no heaters so I am now eating a very expensive dinner on a scarf, gloves and jacket not very comfortable. Scallops and steak were good the chicken was over cooked the sides were cold. I knew I was going to an expensive place to eat but when I have a meal that is going to cost 75.00-100.00 per person I expect my food to be cooked to perfection and certainly come out hot. The waiter was fantastic and tried to be accommodating especially with how cold it was brought 2 shawls to help keep warm. Does that tell you something when a restaurant has shawls to keep patrons warm. Invest in a couple space heaters. I cannot recommend find somewhere else to go.

Was really looking forward to what we believed was an upscale dining experience. The only upscale was the price. We had 6:15pm reservations made 2 weeks in advance. We had to wait 45 minutes to be seated Upon entering the restaurant after a 45 minute wait we noticed empty tables everywhere. It is a quite large facility but still I would have rather waited at the table enjoying a cocktail rather than sitting on the front porch. Well as you can imagine after waiting 45 minutes past our reservation time our attitudes were already on a downward spiral. We were taken to our table which was in the most remote darkest area and were seated at a table for 4 with enough silverware and utensils for 24. Not to mention the 12 different wine glasses. We had reservations for 2 so I can’t understand why our table wasn’t set for 2 this is supposed to be a fine dining experience. A water waiter comes with 2 bottles of supposedly sparking water from Italy. I requested just regular water from Nashville which they don’t offer Surprising sparkling water from Italy taste just like our water in Oklahoma. After all the excess table utensils were removed we were handed our menu’s. Thank goodness for the little candle on our table which we took turns hovering over the menu in order to see My wife ordered the filet medium rare. I ordered the rib eye medium. Hers was ok. Mine was very rare and tough as a boot. The server was not our waiter he just set them in front of us and left. The waiter appeared later and ask how everything was. Our 6:15 dinner reservation lasted until 8:30 for 2 steaks, 1 side of asparagus (with a diameter of my thumb) and $$$ 2 glasses of water from Italy. This truly was a big let down from what I expected and from our 45 minute wait with reservations to a not to attentive wait staff to a below average tough steak I would not recommend.

My family and I with three girls ranging in age 7-18 years old ate here while staying at the Gaylord. The atmosphere is great and our waiter Wayne was phenomenal. There are several types of steaks to choose from and very nice options for kids menu (which is rare in a very fancy restaurant). The gourmet Mac and cheese is a must to get!! We even got a thank you dessert for free for staying at the hotel.

This steakhouse is set within one of the beautiful atriums of the famous Opryland Resort. Colonial decor provides an elegant dining experience. Ask to be seated in Wayne’s section, his service will not disappoint.

The food was very good, the views were excellent. The hosts were also extremely sweet and helpful. The main reason I am giving this a 2 star is because of our waiter Samir (Sam). Overall he was fine, nice enough. But what made me upset beyond belief is thar my fiancé and I ordered filets, and when they came out they had this pile of something on top. I asked the man hero had served us our plates what this was, and he said “the bone marrow butter”. So we just go on thinking that’s how it’s served. When the bill arrives we see that it was a $15 per plate addition. So $30 added to our bill without letting us know??? Keeping in mind, my fiancé scraped it right off so it was a charge for nothing. Although most everything else was lovely, I will never go back because I feel taken advantage of. BEWARE OF SAMIR (SAM)… he will upcharge you for items you don’t want. Very sickening.

Our group of 15 were very disappointed with our special dinner here. It put a damper on our entire evening. The food and service were good. Our problem was with the aggressive upselling of more expensive entrees or add-ons by our server to every member of our group. The server continuously and aggressively tried to upsell every member of our group from their first selections. The upselling was so aggressive that 3 members of our group changed their selections to more expensive entrees. Our bill for the meal was in excess of $2000. This no doubt created a very large tip for our server that was inflated by excessive add-ons and entree changes. I believe this was the server’s main objective. Stop this practice by your server and this would have been a 5-star review from 15 happy customers instead of 15 people who will never return and advise others to be wary of this upselling practice at Old Hickory Steakhouse.

The hotel is just amazing, and the restaurant looks out over one of the "towns" inside the hotel, which is fun. Our server/service was perfect. Make no mistake, for most of us this restaurant is VERY expensive but we had been before a few years ago and it was wonderful, and we were celebrating three birthdays and decided it was worth it. Our table had steaks and rack of lamb and a bottle of Orin Swift Abstract - yum. Everything tasted wonderful. Lamb was slightly less cooked than we would have liked but not enough to send back. The wedge salad was good but not the best I've had. Hubby had the filet mignon which was delicious but slightly undercooked as well. Our 4th had the cowboy ribeye which was pronouced excellent and, believe it or not, the mac and cheese was pronounced transcendent - BEST EVER. Then we were surprised with three different fabulous desserts to help celebrate our birthdays. What a very nice touch. It was not a flawless experience, but very close.

Started off with a very overpriced glass of wine; it was from a bottle opened a few days before and I had to send it back. Selected another average glass of Cabernet for the staggering price of $36. I can purchase this entire bottle of this wine for about $14 at the grocery store. Next, I ordered a 16oz Prime Cowgirl Ribeye prepared very rare. This steak was first delivered to me medium well. I sent it back. It came back awhile later as somewhat rare, but nowhere near what I ordered. By this time, I was frustrated and decided to just go ahead and eat the steak that was delivered to me. Imagine my surprise when I bit into a dry ribeye that was supposed to be a Prime graded piece of meat. I learned how to grade meat growing up on our farm. This meat was not even Choice grade. In fact, I would state that it barely qualified as Select. I was extremely disappointed!!!! This was one of the poorest quality steaks I have ever been served at a restaurant! If I had gone down to Walmart and purchased a ribeye, it would have been much more satisfying than this poor excuse. Needless to say, I will NEVER go back! I am also the president of a multinational nonprofit corporation having their national convention in Nashville next summer. I will be warning all 550 members attending not to go anywhere near Old Hickory Steakhouse.

We had reservations for 6:30. Our party arrived and we were told that our reservation was changed to 7:00 but no one was informed. So everyone went to the bar for a drink. I couldn’t help but wonder if that was simply a way to make people spend money at the bar or poor staff scheduling. Our seating was nice. We started off with a lobster bisque which was good. Then we had a salad which was served in a chilled plate. Our main entree was a filet mignon and salmon and we had green beans and mashed potatoes for the table. The entree arrived at the table somewhat room temperature and dry. My steak was served medium with no visible sear and a grainy livery taste. Definitely not what I would consider a Steakhouse quality steak. and not what I would consider a Prime cut. The salmon was over cooked and had consistency of shoe leather. I had one bite of each and was immediately disappointed with both. I tired smothering it with sauce for the second bite but then I decided not to waste my calories on it. For dessert we had a chocolate mouse cake which was delicious. I gave 2 stars because if you call a steakhouse then you need to get the steak right and when the restaurant needed to change the reservation to 7, they should notified us before we showed up.

Just ate here last night. We did not have a reservation but were offered a high top table in the bar area which we loved. We knew the sides were large so as a couple we ordered one 14oz NY strip steak to share with the Cabernet sauce. It was cooked perfectly and delicious. As sides we ordered the loaded baked potato and it was the largest potato I have ever seen and amazing and a side of asparagus which was also very good. We could not even finish all of this. This meal with a 9oz glass of wine was $122 but we felt worth it.

Was able to get in without reservation. Other restaurants around had 1-2 hour wait, but steakhouse could work us in in 15 minutes. Service was phenomenal. Nick, our server, was absolutely amazing. He provided wonderful recommendations and everything was delicious (bacon starter, ribeye, angus filet). He even brought me water in a “fancy” wine glass because although I wanted a beautiful cocktail, I am expecting so I stuck with water. He didn’t want me to feel left out. For dessert, he gave us an amazing chocolate dish as a congratulations gift. We were so lucky to get to meet Nick. The entire experience was incredible and unforgettable.

We planned an early dinner for 4:30 as we had tickets for the Grand Old Opry at 7:00. We were seated just past our reservation time at 4:35 and our waited Laura came immediately. We ordered appetizers and dinner soon after. The food was very good but we did not receive our meal until 6:10PM, and hour and a half after ordering. Others were seated after us and received their food before us. We were late to our concert and missed the first act because of this. Not happy with the service at all.
