Just got back from Gaylord Opryland hotel and all I can say is, 'WOW!!!' This place is huge (I did get lost once). I went for 4 nights for business and it definitely ranks in the top 5 of all the hotels my company has taken us to.

The check in process went smoothly, we were given a map right at the outset showing us how to get to our room and just about anywhere else we wanted to go in the hotel.

Our room was a standard double in the Garden section and my roomate & I were thrilled with the Queen (not double) beds, the upscale bed linens, furniture style & quality & beautiful bathroom. While the beds were not as plush as the Westin Heavenly Beds, they were quite comfortable. We were on the ground floor with a cute little patio that faced the inner courtyard. We were worried about noise from the inner courtyard (like we've experienced in other hotels), but we heard absolutely nothing!!

We ordered room service a couple times. The menu is limited, but the service is excellent--when your order is ready & leaving the kitchen, they call you to let you know it's on it's way! I highly recommend the southwest chicken wrap. The Jack Daniels Pecan pie was great!!! I've never had fresher pecans in my pie before & it's served with ice cream...heaven.

The hotel catering was above average. The only complaint I had was the scrambled eggs looked strange--like powdered eggs that were reconstituted & poured into a baking dish and baked then chopped up & put in chafing dishes. They didn't taste powdered, though, but they also didn't taste like fresh eggs....

The steakhouse onsite was excellent--definitely treat yourself & make sure to order the lobster macaroni & cheese. You've never had mac & cheese like this!

The hotel is like nowhere you've ever been before. It's like a city within itself. At times you would swear you were in the Mississippi Delta. You feel like you're outside without all the heat & humidity. It can be easy to get lost, though so make sure you keep your map on you. You really just have to see it to believe it. If you have a hard time walking, they even have electric scooters available for rent @ $35 a day at the front desk!

The bar areas were nice, too. Live music was played in each one nightly & dancing was encouraged. The sports bar & Irish pub were nice too, but didn't enjoy them as much. Drinks weren't watered down, either.

The spa was a little on the pricey side, but they had everything you could possible want--sauna, steam room, pool, rainshower showers, top of the line bodywash, shampoo & conditioner, everything you need for hair & skin after your spa services & shower to put you back to looking great! Eric gives a great aromatherapy massage...ask for him.

Definitely one of the best places we've stayed for business & ranks #2 on my list of places to revisit in the future for pleasure (#1 is The Venetian in Vegas).

Stayed at the Cascade Garden area and enjoyed the rooms facing the walkways and restaurants. The best location is on the fifth floor where you can enjoy a drink on the balcony and the noise level is minimal except for sound of the waterfalls. It is worth paying the extra $18 a day for use of the gym, hot sauna and valet parking.
It has a great pool and outside hot tub area that is also a great amenity. Overall the staff is wonderful and rooms are kept in excellent clean condition. There is now an upgrade on the Wi-Fi experience. You can upgrade for an additional fee but the free service is just as good unless you will be working in your room. I just used my iPhone and iPad so the upgrade was not required.
Be sure to pick up a map of the areas where you will be walking to and from. You need to get lost a time or two to appreciate all the beauty of the gardens. I was at the hotel for six nights and enjoyed walking to different areas every day. We attended a convention but enjoyed eating at a few restaurants in the hotel. Prices in the hotel restaurants are a bit pricey. If you go outside the hotel, you can walk to some of your favorite locations such as Cracker Barrel or Waffle House.

Room Tip: Air Conditioners are quieter on the top floors. Less noise from the customers, as well.

The Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center has everything you could want under one roof - a huge variety of restaurants and pubs, clothing and gift shops, plus, of course, very nice rooms and wonderful service. They have wonderful walkways, an amazing spa with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, whirlpool, etc., and probably lots of other places to play that we didn't even get to. There's even a cute little boat ride around their indoor garden, on which you can learn about local flora and fauna, and a few good stories as well. They're also very knowledgeable about things to do and see in the Nashville area. Most of their business seems to be convention/business-related, but there also were several families who But do bring your wallet, because everything is very expensive. Some would say that this is in line with "you get what you pay for," and that's probably true in this case. All of this good stuff is expensive - but much of it is worth the price.

Any hotel that you need mapquest in order to find your room after check in, gives you a sign of things to come. Parking fees were an added insult, and I think I parked in another zip code. Property inside was scenic, but save yourself a lot of money, and make a day trip there and walk around for FREE like many other smart tourists I saw doing. I learned my expensive travel lesson too late. Health room was a joke- they claim to be THE resort of Nashville- No steam room, sauna ? Hello!
And if you're hungry, hop a cab outside the complex and eat a meal (for 2) for under a hundred bucks. Can you tell I was slightly disappointed.

Easy and friendly check in by Elle. Bonvoy counter to speed things up. Nice quiet room on top floor. Bed was comfortable. Conference facility is top notch lots of different conferences going on. Restaurants on site are nice tried The Falls and Conservatory Wine Bar, had issue, manager immediately solved it. Bring lots of money for the breakfast buffet at Cascades, crazy expensive but good. The on site spa has steam room and sauna open to Bonvoy and we'll worth your time! Giant lap pool opens at 6. Nice facility over all.

Questions & answers about the sauna

Answer from AZFam-Travel

There is a free pool & sauna. It is located near the spa. It is outside, not part of the sound wave. Not sure if is open during late fall/winter. We were there 2nd week of October & the outdoor free pool was open. The sound wave was around $60 per person if I remember correctly. There are no tubes to float on in the lazy river due to COVID, you just float/swim or walk thru the lazy river.
