My husband attended a conference at the opryland hotel so I took off work and accompanied him. The hotel is huge (9 acres) and a world by itself. Every staff member - maid to mgmt was truly concerned about your stay. Smiling and friendly. You didn't have to walk around lost with a confused look to be asked - what can I do for you? how is your stay? There was inclement weather so I ended up staying at the resort instead of battling the Icy roads. I was not bored at all and found many areas to explore browse and shop. There were waterfall and fountains to sit by and read or sip a cocktail. The hotel was immaculate. My only complaint would be that there needs to be more choices for breakfast - cascades cafe has a full menu, and the delta pizza place has a quick serve bfast but that is it unless you want coffee n muffin from the snack places. There is a cracker barrel, mcdonalds and Bob Evans restaurant directly across the street which works if the weather isn't bad. Lots of lunch and dinner choices within the hotel. The room was quiet and there was no noise from the atrium or the floor above or the hallway. Beds felt new. We slept well which is very unusual for a hotel stay.

The reason I wrote this review is because we were there for almost a week and my husband ended up finishing seminars earlier than expected. Rather than wait and leAve Thursday am we ended up checking out weds afternoon. The hotel allowed us to ck out late and not charge an extra night BUT in the rush my husband forgot to check the drawers and left ALL my clothes in the drawers under the TV. I was out Xmas shopping when he called and said..let's go home early I am all packed. Once we got home and I realized my suitcase was pretty much empty and that easily 8 or so NEW outfits were left at the hotel. Opryland hotel took our info and I assumed the worst...we would not see my clothes again. My clothes at home did not fit! My hubby was in the dog house! But they came through..Lost and found at the hotel called back and went through each item they had to confirm they were mine. They fed exed me the clothes and I had them in 2 business days. Marriott corporate also called us but the local nashville hotel had it under control. How many hotels could you leave your clothes and get them returned? Super impressed with the opryland hotel staff. They really go above and beyond and show southern hospitality.
It is Worth even just a day visit to walk through the atriums and decorations for the holidays. You almost need a gps to find your way through the hotel but the staff are very helpful....just get a map.

To start off, if you are arriving into BNA airport and do not have a means of transportation to the Gaylord Opryland Resort, the hotel shuttle is $25/pp each way or $35/pp round trip. A taxi charges a flat rate of $25 (up to three people), and is recommended over the hotel shuttle, unless you have a fear of taxis. We used Nashville Cab co., and we had a friendly driver and a very clean minivan taxicab. The ride was very quick. The hotel charges to take you downtown, so if you want to save some money, CAB IT! The only "free" shuttle is to the Opry Mills shopping mall, and it is a very short walk from the property.

Make sure you also being along a good pair of walking shoes, as the Gaylord Opryland Resort is HUGE! The three sections of the property (Cascades, Magnolia, Delta) are all unique, and offer different levels of renovation and scenery. We were given a very nice king-bedded room (room D1086) which had a balcony facing the interior of the "Delta" atrium. We paid a conference attendee rate (around $172/nt.), which doesn't include the additional mandatory "resort fee" of $12/nt, which includes free local calls (up to 20min), and two small bottles of Dasani water, among other things which you'll probably never use. Even the "resort fee" was taxed! We had to call housekeeping, as they kept forgetting the bottled water we were paying for, but they did bring them quickly each time.

Our room seemed like it was recently renovated, and it was done up in very tasteful modern decor. The room also featured: a mini fridge, LCD TV, alarm clock with CD player, in-room safe, a desk/workstation, iron/board, hair dryer, one cordless and one corded phone, and other typical room & bath amenities. The balcony, which faced the little river that flows through the delta atrium, also had a small bistro table with two chairs.

As for the hotel amenities, they have everything you could want in a resort property (indoor/outdoor pool, good-sized fitness center, spa/salon (extra cost), and a good selection of restaurants. As expected, the food inside the hotel is expensive, but the selection of food will suffice if you aren't venturing off property. The Water's Edge buffet, at $20/pp for lunch is expensive but they have a great selection of food. The little boat rides offered inside the Delta atrium cost $9/pp but it is nice guided tour. BEWARE when staying during large conventions if you can help it, as there are very long waiting times to get into every restaurant.

The Opry Mills shopping mall, which is a short walk from the hotel, offers a few different dining choices (Aquarium restaurant, Macaroni Grill, Tony Roma's, Johnny Rockets, Chili's TOO, TGI Friday's, a food court, as well as some decent shopping, an IMAX theater, and a huge Dave & Buster's sports cafe with a bowling alley. If you don't have a rental car or any plans to venture downtown, it is a good alternative to being bored inside the hotel. There are also a few small museums that a short walk from the property in the opposite direction.

If you like cruise ships but prefer to pay high prices for food, beverages and fun, this is the place for you. It was overcrowded, overpriced, and I couldn’t wait to go home. We waited in line for 45 min for lunch (the wait times at every restaurant and cafe was ridiculous). Lunch entrees were overpriced with burgers at least $15 and entrees around $30 and the portions weren’t generous.

We tried the Jack Daniel’s restaurant. Hubby ordered the Cowboy Ribeye ($50) and it couldn’t have been more than 14 oz with the bone. I could hear Jack Daniels spinning in his grave. I would be embarrassed to put a wimpy little steak on a plate and charge $50 for it.

The decorations at the hotel were nice, but it’s hard to enjoy the decor when all you can think about is the astronomical prices for….everything. It’s the constant “money grab” that bothered me.
Self parking was $33/day plus tax. $40 for Ice! Honestly, this is the first, last and only time I’ll ever go to a Gaylord Resort and my last time at a Marriott property. I’ve never been so fed up at the end of a vacation as I was with this visit to Gaylord Resort and Spa.

We stayed here for the New Year’s Eve. First of all, toilets are broken near the lobby. You have to walk through the other building which is a problem because hotel is huge. Another problem they say they have a lot of restaurants, but you can not sit because of the long lines. Not only restaurants, also all the activitie have long lines.
My husband is diabetic and he can not wait too long to eat.
At one restaurant, when we checked the day before, reservations were not accepted for breakfast. Next morning we were not seated because we “did not have reservations”. We are a family of four. Could not find anyone to listen, and could not spend time talking because eating something was more important for my husband.
In our last night, we could not find a place to eat at the hotel . We had to drive to downtown to eat proper food.
Cascade cafe has very limited menu. First day I ordered salad and there was hair on top of my salad. I returned it and had to have a replacement sandwich, though I would have preferred the salad.
We understand high season, etc, but this is not the first holiday we had in this hotel. It has become a empty shell compared to how it was before. We do not see COVID as an explanation, as now the COVID has become a fact to live with. Every problem we encountered was entirely preventable by being confronted by a competent and responsive management. As I mentioned above, this is not the first holiday, but it’s likely to be the last.

Dear katebV1427OP, We pride ourselves on the quality of our food and as a result, most of our items are made from scratch, in house. Understandably so, perfection takes time and we are disappointed to hear this negatively affected your overall stay and we apologize for any wait times you encountered while dining with us. We delight in an opportunity to change your lasting impression of our resort and we hope to see you again whenever your travels bring you back to Nashville! Warm Regards, Trista Chauvin Director of Operational Excellence

I had been to this hotel back in 2009 prior to the flood and was so impressed. That visit was for business but this time I wanted to bring my family to experience the beauty and splendor of this resort. The place changed a bit after the flood and I was a little disappointed they no longer had the showcase guitars in the lobby but the lobby was much bigger and still lovely. This place is HUGE and it takes a while to get orientated. The room we had reserved was standard but when we checked in I asked if there was any chance for an upgrade and they were happy to put is in a room with a balcony overlooking the beautiful atrium. The family loved staying here and we enjoyed our visit, used the complimentary shuttle over the shopping mall. The onsite dining wasn't very impressive for such a beautiful resort, especially the pizza cafe. We still talk about how it was, by far, the worst pizza we ever had. This hotel is not close to downtown but it cost about the same as the downtown accommodations so we just drove into the downtown area.
