It is very expensive for a one night stay in an atrium room so we expected first rate accommodations The room was a small basic room. It had a King bed with an average tv (no big screen here) The bathroom is small with not enough room for two people. The shower/tub combination is average - no massage shower head -No fan in the bathroom to help clear the mirrors after a shower. What you pay for is entirely the atrium view and quick access to the huge complex. They even charged us $20 for self parking when it is usually complimentary. There is no complimentary breakfast as well, just a variety of restaurants to choose from. The shuttle bus was unreliable on the pick up times and cost as well to go downtown. The complex is gorgeous and we may visit it again but stay the night as another hotel more worth the cost.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the valet attendant who promptly told us how backed up they were. He asked if we would like bell services to which he added "you might as well because you will be charged for everything as soon as you walk in the door."

After navigated the property and arriving to our room I called for our luggage. The operator informed we would receive our luggage in 15 minutes. 45 minutes later we still did not have luggage and we were now running late for dinner. I contacted the opeartor a second time and inquired to the status of our luggage and was informed that they were "backed up." No proactive communication or solution was provided. We missed our reservations and set the tone for the remainder of our experience.

After getting our luggage I went to use the shower and noticed long black hair stuck to the walls and on the bathroom floor. There were toenail clippings on the bed and the furniture was dusty and beat up. I contacted the Operator again and informed of the room condition and she offerred to have someone come clean it. I would've liked to check-in to a clean room. I went to the front desk and reported the issue for a second time. The front desk agent Ivan and the manager were helpful and offered to upgrade us and give us a credit. As we were already late for our reservation, I asked that they move our luggage to the new room while we were out.

We returned to the property 5 hours later and entered our new upgraded room. Our luggage was not in the room as was stated would be coordinated. Also, the new room had pistachio shells on the floor from the previous guest. One would hope that a little more effort would've be made to ensure the new room at least appeared clean.

The next incident occurred at 9:00AM when housekeeping came to the room. We informed the woman that we would be leaving in a hour after we were done getting ready. The woman sighed, dramatically took out her clipboard and informed us how hard it was for her to push the cart up and down elevators. Really?

We went to the spa for a couples massage and they got it right. The massage was great, service was great and the facility was great.

Beyond the spa this hotel really ruined a special getaway for my partner and I. The hotel is very large so I didn't expect AMAZING service but they didn't even get the basics right i.e. cleanliness and service. The compensation offered for the issues we experienced did not meet the numerous issues which we experienced. There are far better hotels for a lesser rate in the area.

One thing I like about this hotel is that it has everything you need under one roof. You can spend the entire weekend trip at this hotel and not leave the premises at all. You can dine at a variety of great restaurants, you can shop for necessities, clothes, western appeal, listen to the live radio show that takes place on the property, you can visit Relache' Spa for a great massage, swim in 1 of 3 swimming pools, and even take advantage of the on site gym. You can take a stroll through the beautiful Delta and Cascade Gardens and even enjoy a boat ride through the hotel. This hotel is great for personal visits as well as business visits. Excellent place for various types of banquets and conventions.

Have a little cabin fever, step right across the way to the Opry Mills Outlet Mall, visit the General Jackson and even take a tour at the Grand Old Opry where many well know country artist perform.

Beautiful place to visit during the winter season. Enjoy a Country Christmas and visit the Ice Show.

I promise you that you wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

I imagine this would be a great place to stay for a family with young kids. The resort aims to have everything you need within the resort so you don't have to leave since there's really nothing walking distance except for the Grand Ole Opry and the mall. For someone without kids, this feels like a resort trap. The resort is huge and hard to navigate. The restaurants inside the resort are not that good and seem a little pricey. The pool was nice at 8:30 in the morning but quickly filled with kids. The real gem is the spa experience. It has nice locker rooms with great amenities. Especially loved the relaxation room you go to before the massage.

This is a beautiful property. Service is excellent (everywhere--from housekeeping to the restaurants to the front desk and bellmen.) Room was very nice--recently updated. It did have a mini-fridge, which was nice for cold water and storing leftovers. The rooms have a small patio--room enough for a small café table and 2 chairs. We overlooked the bar (far enough away that it's not a bother) and the general atrium. There were waterfalls, so there was a nice 'white noise' aspect--without being overbearing. It's really quite nice--lots of greenery and a lovely backdrop. Definitely ask for a higher level room so you can get the great view (elevators are fast.). There's a botanical gardens area and an "Old South" themed wing with shopping and a winding river. The place is huge! (but well mapped out so you can find your way around pretty easily.)

The resort fees are, well....they're resort fees. A $90 room (after doing points-and-cash through Marriott) was closer to $140 a night. That included $26 a night for parking. We should have taken our car back to the airport and just used the shuttle: The Grand Ole Opry and the Opry Mills Mall are within walking distance (technically--though a bit of a hike--10-15 minutes)--and there are shuttles that run every 15-20 minutes to both places. There are 8 or 9 restaurants inside the hotel (Starbucks, casual lunch, Mexican, Jack Daniel's themed place, Irish Pub, Italian, +). Resort prices, but good food at the ones we tried. You're definitely here for the experience, not to pinch pennies. And truly, it was a great experience.

The Spa is wonderful--hot stone massage with Erica (she's magic!) and a mani-pedi with Stacie (fabulous).

We went to the Grand Ole Opry (so cool!) and did a Nashville BBQ tour (great food at Jack's BBQ and a couple of hours at the Honkytonks)--really fun!

Overall, I'd stay here again. It's a great experience, conveniently located (15 minutes-ish) from the airport, and a beautiful property.

Room Tip: The Cascade Wing is closest to the main check-in area. A higher-level floor offers a great view.
