I thought an adults only hotel would have lots of couples. There were some but there were also groups of young men who were quite disrespectful. The pool is tiny, you can't swim in it and there are no toilets on the pool deck so you have to go 2 floors down to reception or to your room. If you want to use the open top buses, the nearest stop is about a half hour's walk and it's on the red route.

Great stay at this hotel during a long weekend break in February. Hotel is in great location close to beach front and is only ten minutes walk from the metro if you want to go into town.
Room was very clean and comfortable and everything we needed was provided. Staff were very helpful and we were allowed to leave our bags with reception before check-in and after check-out
Would definitely recommend trying a few of the local places to eat. We had some of the best food of our trip here. The area also came alive on a Saturday night with all the restaurants and bars opening

When we arrived we had to wait a little while for our room to be ready as we arrived early (which we expected). When checking-in we were told that city tax charges had gone up but had not been informed of this before. It has gone up to around €10 per night.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the beach and a 10 minute walk from the local metro station which takes you into the city centre. The nearest bus stop is a 5 minute walk which takes you up towards the marina/harbour. Transport links are quite good and you can purchase transport tickets at the metro station.
We had the room only option so did not try any food here. However breakfast is €20 per person per day if you want it. There are a few bars/restaurants a 2 minute walk from the hotel who also serve a nice breakfast for cheaper.
We stayed on the 8th floor and had a side sea view which was nice. However, there was a lot of building work going on until after 6pm on the 10th floor but it sounded like it was directly above us. When mentioned to the reception team there wasn’t much they could do about it which wasn’t that helpful.
Overall it was a good stay but the the few downfalls mentioned above did affect my rating on this place.

Of its type and price a very good 4* adults only hotel.The staff worked hard and were warm and pleasant offering a good level of service. A Comfortable, spacious bedroom and bathroom offering a good nights sleep. A good buffet breakfasts covering a range of tastes and styles and plenty of it. Small but clean swimming pool. A modern designed bar area with a selection of spirits, wine and a larger beer, made for a nice place to stop and chat after a day out. A small range of bar/room service snacks/ light meals were well prepared and of there type were of good quality, but not for those who enjoy fine dinning and want an evening meal , the homemade pizza was lovely but restaurant was not open in the evening when we stayed and so we ate out before returning to the hotel. The immediate area does not have much to offer but a short walk to the metro area or a taxi ride and you can be in the centre of Barcelona in no time. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean hotel to use as a base to explore Barcelona or hold a work conference than I would strongly recommend it to you.

My husband and I traveled for our honeymoon. The service was okay but the cleaning service was not ok. When we arrived there was a cigarette bud in the room and the tub looked dirty. We called to th reception and all they said was that they can have someone come up and trow the bud away. My husband told them that if that's all they're going to do that he could just do it. House keeping also knocked on our room door at 8:30am to clean the room which was not okay. The only good thing is that the hotel is on the ocean front and close to restaurants.

Visited with friends on a Jet2 city break. After initially being allocated the worse room in the hotel (132) by 2 of the most hardfaced receptionists I have come across, we where saved from a dismal stay by Guest Experience Manager Melanie who reallocated us to a lovely room. That moan aside, this hotel has a very good position on the Platja Mar Bella, making it suitable as both a beach and sight seeing hotel. Apart from the 2 aforementioned staff all the other members of staff were friendly and helpful especially the cleaning staff. The breakfast was good and offered a wide choice. The rooftop pool was quite small but pleasant that had thankfully been kept open out of season. There were free towels and sun beds for about a dozen people. Plenty of reasonably priced and good quality tapas bars within a short walk.

I really like the hotel. The location is perfect. You just have to cross a street and you’re on the beach. The sidewalk is very beautiful and great for walks. The hotel is very beautiful and the staff was very nice. Everything went great. We had asked for a room with sea-view and city view and that’s what we got. We could see both. Only thing weird in the room was the chair. It was very outworn, the fabric came off a lot, but we didn’t use it anyways. And the showerhead was too low for my boyfriend (he’s 197cm tall). So showering wasn’t that comfortable for him. If you’re under 186cm it should work better. I’m 173cm and it was fine. Can’t say anything about the food because we didn’t eat there. Good to know: the pool is just 80cm deep. It’s just to cool down but not really for swimming, but it looks pretty with a nice view. I’ve compared a lot of hotels online and this one was definitely the one with the best price-performance ratio. Also you can go nearly everywhere within 5- 25 minutes with a taxi and the taxi prices are cheaper than in Germany.

We booked this as an adults only hotel, only to find at breakfast on both days there were young children there, why? Arrived at 10 am and had to return at 3.30-4 for check in as the room was not ready, I understand this but we were not told where we could leave the bags or with whom, we had to figure that out ourselves. Nice sea view from our room on the 9th floor. Reception area was very slow each time on the 3 occasions we visited (check in and check out) and not helpful. The hotel is bright and modern with a few restaurants and bars just a few minutes' walk away. We chose this hotel for the quiet location. Breakfast was ok, a few hot options (scrambled eggs was awful and sloppy) pastries, cold meats and cheese and fresh fruit was good. A bit crammed in at breakfast, too many tables for the space. Would I return, no, only because my husband would have preferred to be closer to the city centre, but the sea view was great.

The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect - the beach is directly opposite and within walking distance, there’s a metro and several bus stops nearby too, so it’s very quick and easy to get into central Barcelona. The service was excellent, staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious with a large variety of sweet and savoury options. Room was modern and very clean with a beautiful view of the beach. A truly amazing stay, and will definitely consider coming back again! :))

We stayed at Atenea Mar after finding an advert for it on Instagram so I was a little sceptical despite lots of great review as however this hotel exceeded our expectations. From arrival we were warmly welcomed by the kind and smiley staff on reception. We were early for our check in but this didn’t matter and our staff on was ready which was lovely, the room was spotlessly clean and the bed was huge and so comfy! Lovely touch of amenities in the bathroom and fresh towels etc each day, room had everything you needed. The breakfast was fab with so much variety and the service was great. The location of the hotel is brilliant just a couple of mins to the beach, 10 mins to the metro stop and lots of lovely restaurants and shops close by. We had such an amazing stay and we will definitely we back!

The hotel is mainly located in a residential area - if you live in a town it’s much like that - if you want a busy nightlife and clubs you will need to be located in the centre of town near La Rambla or in the vicinity of. Otherwise you may be disappointed
