Great hotel if you do not have or want young children around you.
roof top pool was great, a little smaller than expected but great anyway. Roof top loungers we good, pool side bar for drinks. - a little pricey but that was to be expected.
Rooms very very good. Sea view room was large, very comfortable beds, and a great black out blind on the window.
Kettle and tea and coffee. - no milk, but you can ask at the kitchen for a small jug to keep in your fridge.
Clean and tidy.
Would stay again and recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights during a work trip. Great location just by the beach. Lobby area and bar is great. We had some delays at check which was frustrating but not the end of the world. Rooms are nice with good views. Only downside to the rooms are the water pressure is not great and the walls are not soundproof in anyway.

Hotel is lovely. Great welcome, rooms ready speedily. Spacious and clean. Nice having the refrigerator. Rooftop pool, sun loungers and bar was fab. Food and drinks really reasonably priced. A quick journey via taxi in to the central areas and a 5 minute walk across the road to the beach. Staff were lovely.

We spent a weekend with my wife.
Good points:
Position first line to the sea, terrace with very small swimming pool.
Bad points:
Rooms quite old, furniture damaged, bed sheets dirty!!!, bad insonorization,..
We had two separate beds, no chance to change them.. Not even to join them.
Our room had a door to the next room, so we could hear everyting our "neighbours" were doing... (not so pleasant).

We regret you were disappointed with the sleeping arrangements and we are sorry to not have been able to help you resolve it during your stay. Guests submit any special requests (i.e double bed, bathtub instead of a shower, quiet room, etc.) when making their reservation which are then forwarded to the corresponding departments to be taken into account whenever possible; however, this can depend on availability. At Barceló, we strive to always deliver high standards and are sorry that on this occasion we didn't meet your expectations. We are fully aware that this is an essential aspect in these current times and can assure you that these are not the standards we uphold. Pool not in use- told on arrival it would be open by tomorow?
They then told us upon leaving that we had to pay an extra 40 euros “city tax” which we were never made aware of.
On our way to withdraw said city tax from the cash machine the woman tried to take the money from my bank account despite being told that we were going to get it out of the ATM.
Would not advise a stay staff are rude and services are very limited.
No restaraunt or bar worth going to and about a half an hour walk from anywhere worth going to.
Disappointing for the price could’ve got another hotel without a pool for significantly cheaper.

Visited Barcelona on a girls trip!
This hotel was amazing, although we checked in late they offered us use of the sauna and steam rooms. Such an amazing experience.
The service was really good. The room had a nice sea view, it was very clean and spacious! We enjoyed it!
I would recommend it to people and will look for other branches in other cities when travelling!☺️

Friendly, helpful staff at reception (especially Oscar) helped make our stay enjoyable. Bed was very comfortable and rooms were cleaned daily. The hotel took care with pandemic measures and staff and guests work masks.

The room size and overall infrastructure was not outreaching, however, the location is the best you can imagine. If you have stayed in Gothic Region in the center of the city, you know that it is kinda exhausting to stay in Barcelona. This hotel is right in the corner of good neighborhood which is peaceful . Transportation is close, about 10 minutes from metro. The best thing is the BEACH. Only 3 minutes walk from the beach, which was the MOST memorable experience I had from south Europe. Better check this out when the price is reasonable.

Me and my friend stayed at the Atenea Mar for 5 nights in April 2023. The entire stay was incredible.
The rooms are stunning, spotlessly clean, have everything you could need (air con, mini fridge, luxury shower, reading lamps!). The beds were so comfy that we slept like babies the entire time we were there.
The terrace area with the infinity pool is stunning. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols, and the view is incredible. The water was a bit chilly but was so refreshing after the heat of the midday sun!
The best thing of all was the staff. Honestly, they could not do enough for you. From greeting you upon arrival, to making the perfect cocktails, to making us feel completely at ease. The staff at this hotel deserve everything. They are all so wonderful and put so much thought into everything they do!
5* holiday at this hotel. 100% will be booking again!

The hotel is mainly located in a residential area - if you live in a town it’s much like that - if you want a busy nightlife and clubs you will need to be located in the centre of town near La Rambla or in the vicinity of. Otherwise you may be disappointed
