They say that the only places that will thrive Despite a bad economy will be the ones with great customer service ... which I guess means this hotel should be shutting doors down there soon. Right? My bad experience started in the USA, when I called the 1-800 line for Barcelo hotels to ask about how many beds the "family" suite we had booked would have. The hotel operator had the nerve to tell me she does not know, and that I should call USA directly to ask? huh? Is not that HER job??? After I yelled a bit, she made the call and got me an answer. We showed up at the hotel, Which is actually quite nice, and neatly kept. It is right across from the ocean, but I think it is a bit of a stretch to say it is across from a beach-it is not really a "beach" area. It is not convenient at all to public transit-allow 20 minutes to walk to the nearest metro stop, and an another 20 minutes to get into the city center. Assume that if you have any luggage, you will have to take a taxi to and from the airport, Which Will be about 35 euros each way (without traffic). .... Then there is the lousy hotel service. We have been here 4 days so far, and 3 of those days the wifi service has been broken. Which means I am spending lots of money on accessing wifi on my iphone, I have a job where I simply need to have wifi access to check my emails. Oh yeah-then, we tried to order room service, and got our food two hours later after multiple phone calls and more yelling. Lots of other small details lend to my labeling of this hotel as a "2-star" place. They give you shampoo, conditioner or lotion but not. The televisions look 20 years old and have very few channels. There appears to be no alarm clock, no coffee maker, and no easy way to get hot water from the restaurant when they are closed (which seems to be most of the time). We have 2 days left at this hotel, and I must confess, I can not wait to leave. My suggestion? find a hotel that is in the central part of the city. Trust me, you will thank me.

Here rushing for a business meeting for a one night stay. Excellent location few steps from the Barcelona beachty and perfectly organized for business hospitality that is clear architecture, easy going stay with wifi without complications everywhere (more and more in US top quality chain hotels they complicate with charges when you arrive jet lagged in the middle of the night), neat restaurant with outdoor seats, room of white and wood furniture without chemical smelling of linens (again as more often you encounter in US even top hotels). In other words, a kind of modern hospitality with a touch of Catalan Mediterranean flavor.

We did not get the room we pay for it was clean but very small, that is about all bad we have to say, nice staf, little pool and not enaugh space to go into pool. since we close to beach it was no problem with that so we go there instead.

Close to bus and metro, but dont eat at the restaurant they need to improve a lot, go to restaurant close to hotel instead many many to chose from. 3 at the beach and like 10 around there with tapas and other, no 5 stars but ok if you want to fill your little belly ;)

Any way i would go there again the weather is fantastic and walk at the beach nighttime 25 warm is worth the trip and place itself

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 6 nights in September. First time in Barca. Arrived late, and got the aerobus straight into the centre, then got metro to selva del mar (closest metro to hotel). Arrived at hotel late but check in took 5 mins. Room was lovely, air con and bright, clean airy bathroom. We got the top floor which had lovely views of the city.

Location - opposite beach, you have to cross a main road but this was no problem. Lovely beach opposite and we were lucky enough to stay when the air show was on. Bus stop 30 seconds from the hotel takes you straight into centre or 10 mins walk to metro. Diagonal shopping centre 10 mins walk, next to Hiton hotel with nice outdoor restaurants / shopping.

We only had breakfast at the hotel once as wasn't included in our stay which was ok. Nice little cafe down the road from hotel which we ate at a few times for breakfast. The bar was nice for chilling out perhaps before you went out to dinner etc and the restaurant looked nice but we just never got round to eating there. Used the gym / sauna / steam room twice which was lovely. Shame the jacuzzi was broken but staff aware.

In conclusion: Perfect for us, comfortable, clean & left to our own devices. We would stay again for sure. A perfect base for exploring an amazing city.

Second time we have stayed here.last time 2005

paid £59.50 per night room only for this four star hotel and was very happy for the fIve nights.
room was great nice big bathroom with hairdryer.
rooms sound proof no sound from outside at all
7 minutes walk to metro station selva del mar four stops to zoo five stops to barcelloneta station leaves you walking distance to port vell 5 minutes and ten to ramblas.

this hotel is great value for money although you do have to use the transport services but still not a great problem as the bus and metro are near.
i recommend the chinese restaurant outside the hotel (leaving the hotel to the right its on the corner restaurant xineu)

do not go to the vila shopping centre in ciudalleta it is total crap diagonal mar is the best

Stayed April
