This hotel is not a 4 star. A 3 star at best. Only part that looks like the pictures is the lobby and pool area (the only modern parts of the hotel). Corridors and bedrooms are very outdated and grubby with plug sockets hanging off walls. They told us our room was on the 9th floor but the elevator only went to floor 8 no one mentioned the steep flight of stairs we would have to climb with our luggage. No help was offered. The generator next to our room kept us up. Beds are rock hard, pillows are half empty. Tv volume did not work.
I would not reckoned staying here.
We stayed at this hotel after 4 nights in a H10 4 star hotel in the Marina which cost the same price and they are worlds apart.

Thank you very much 631ainsleyg for sharing with us your experience. We regret that you did not find the hotel you expected. In fact you booked then an standar double room and we offered to you a rooftop room, the highest room in the hotel, we only have 2 and our clients love them. It is a superior one that we thought that you would like, not only for the views, also for the amenities and extra facilities we gave you for free, although it had many stairs to arrive. We were wrong in this assignment, maybe you had preferred the standar in the 3rd flat that you had previosly assigned, so your feedback has given us the opportunity to learn a lot, thank you. Best regards, Marta Alamany GM Hotel

I spent 2 days & nights at this location during a brief trip in Porto. It was such a delight. Hugo at the front desk was so helpful, especially with giving us point-by-point directions to the best sights & the most amazing wine tour. The room was beautiful & cozy, the breakfast buffet was full of yummy foods and cleanliness was completely on point. I thoroughly my stay and can't wait to return!

Dear shersher1216 Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us, but I think this opinion is about our hotel in Porto, not in Barcelona. However we are also more than pleased to receive this words about our colleagues, who will be also glad to know your opinion. Best regards!

I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. The Hotel is clean and has A/C; WIfi works fine and everywhere in the hotel. Location is excellent. Taxis are always available in front of the hotel. I was there for an exhibition in Fira, so taxi cost me around 13 euros each time. There is also a super market in the corner of the street, as well as a bakery and café next to the hotel.

Horrible experience. Very unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Unprofessional practices They cancelled our booking out of the blue at short notice in order to price gouge other guests. Be warned they will not honour a fair price and will ruin your travel plans

Nicely done hotel, but service could be improved. Specifically free coffee, a price alternative for breakfast, wash cloths provided, and amenities replaced as they are used. There was a checkout glitch in that I was told one balance when I checked out the night before, only to discover that I owed more the next morning as the cab was waiting for me.

Thank you very much Karin K for sharing with us more details about your stay in our hotel. We have free coffee before 7 a.m. for the early guests and also in the superior rooms, after 7 a.m. you have the breakfast buffet that can not be free of charge due to its cost. Refering to the invoice, we have checked it and the only extra that you should have is minibar or any consummation the last night, because you paid at the checkin time. Please check it again and if you have any doubt, we are at your entire disposal to solve it. Kind regards Marta Alamany General Manager

Unfortunately this hotel missed the mark on so many levels. I was there for a conference and recommend hotels for my clients. This property so needs a refresh. The first room I went into smelled like stale cigarettes and was musty. Ughh. Then I was moved to the room next door. A little better in the scent category, but oh my does this hotel need a renovation. My tub had major RUST and the chairs were torn. bed squeaked which was unbelievable. I would not rank this higher than a two star property. Apparently the lobby is under renovation so you had to take an elevator (if you have luggage) or walk down to the lower level to check in. It was the holidays and while the rest of the city is decorated, they had two small black modern-ish trees with lights. Wow! That'll get you into the holiday spirit.

Thank you very much for sharing your opinion with us and for helping to improve with all this information. But I can not understand very well your feedback because this year we only had the renovation of our rooftop and swimmimg pool but not the lobby as you have mentioned. And also we have no small black trees in the hall, we ordered all the Christmas decoration to a designer of the city, so I guess that you were not in this hotel or you stayed here before December maybe. This hotel is Catalonia Barcelona 505 in Muntaner Street. In any case, thank you for chosing our hotel as a reference, I am at your entire disposal. Best regards! Marta Alamany Manager Hotel

The staff at the hotel really know how to please their guests. The rooms were well designed, the walk-in shower a delight and our morning breakfast was tasty. We had the opportunity to stay on the 8th floor balcony room which provided a wonderful view of the city.

What a lovely hotel this is! We booked it as a last minute trip (4 days prior to travel) through a travel agent and Jet2 and so had no time to thoroughly investigate the hotel (as is our usual way of holiday planning). Hence we were a little apprehensive as to what to expect.
We needn't have worried...although a way out of the city centre, the location was perfect for us. It was near to a variety of travel links (bus and metro) but was also in a vibrant area of its own with a good choice of bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance.
The hotel itself was excellent and well worth the price. Our room (a basic twin) was clean and modern. We loved the rooftop pool...very classy poolside furniture.
We had breakfast each day, there was a very wide choice of delicious good and drink options.
The hotel staff were invariably friendly and polite.
I would highly recommend thd hotel and would defo stay again.

Came to 505 lobby is lovely, up to date and smells nice. The rooms are very dated, water damage on the door of the bathroom, open the door of the bathroom the ceiling makes a huge noise, beds are itchy, room is so hot at night can’t keep the windows open as they open inwards and the curtains push the windows shut, i did call reception he said nothing he can do and put the phone down on me. The next day I spoke with reception the receptionist just stared at me. The manager said that’s not good.. when I went back to the room I got a knock on a door with a fan. This is not a 4 star hotel. If I was not so late I would have gone somewhere else. Staff are rude. Swimming pool is an enlarged bath! Do t waste your money.

Bring the universal adapter. We got ours from Amazon. While there use their blow dryer. I automatically used mine which was too powerful for their circuits. Blew it up. Very very accommodating front desk. Will supply just about anything you need. Off topic but the little bakery on the corner is perfect for breakfast
During the day time it seems safe and I had no bad feeling. Night time ,I prefered to use metro and bus to turn back to Hotel. But the locations where are closer to the Hotel, like restaurant, bars .. I walked there and didnt have bad expericence
There are more places to choose from in the Barcelona area.
