- BVK07Burlington, NC15 contributionsA lively open air market and Biergarten located in Old Town that is a must see! The variety of stalls and food throughout the market is impressive! The vendors are all friendly and great to work with.
We also enjoyed the Biergarten on our visit and loved that we could bring our own snacks if we sat at the picnic tables vs full service at the dining tables . Just make a quick visit to the ‘hut’ when a beer is needed! There is a public restroom near the Biergarten that is often overlooked!

It was surprising how their fashion is really art and goes way beyond just wearable clothing. The museum itself is beautiful and the cafe is good too. If you don't, that is all there is. For those that are mobility challenged, there are three steps in. You can see the first floor but then there's a huge staircase to the second. No elevator. Art is a central element here. The balancing figure "Man with outstretched arms" by the artist Stephan Balkenhol at the entrance to the arcade invites you into the shopping world.
The LEGO shop is worth visiting even if you don't buy anything. For me the real star here is the café, which has a cheap selection of hot and cold drinks and sweets and is full of nice books and magazines. The lady who worked at the store upstairs was highly informative and had amazing football knowledge, was lovely to speak to her.
