I would 1,000% recommend this tour as guided by Nic, who despite the somber tour site, provided amazing and jaw-dropping insights - an extremely and extraordinarily knowledgeable historian of this morbid topic. Bravo Nic!

The tour runs like clockwork. Our guide and our choffeur, Hannae and Joseph, knew exactly what to do and what to advise at every stop. The history behind the castles and the castles themselves are truly fascinating. A great day indeed.

This was an excellent day trip, well worth the money and a big bucket list item for us. Don’t go on the weekend if it can be avoided. Instead of the expected 2 hour drive it took four hours to get there, which cut into how much time we had at the venues. The guide wasted about 15 min waiting for someone who never showed up, and that plus the traffic made us a few minutes late at Eagles Nest so that we had to wait for a later bus to the top. She had called to advise them that we needed the bus much later than expected but when we arrived they had displaced our group from that bus and pushed us even later. This drastically cut into our time at the document center so we only had about 45 min, which wasn’t really enough. The guide did all she could and we did get to see all promised locations, but if we had gone on a weekday it would have been better. The EN staff should not have bumped our group so that wasn’t the tour company’s fault, but they should know traffic is always an issue on summer weekends and accommodate for that by starting earlier or extending the length of the tour, etc.

Great experience and great time. Ursula was wonderful and very informative. The knowledge and experiences she shared was great. Very comfortable accomodations and plenty of snacks. Our bus drivers was quite hospitable and kept us safe. Size of the group was just right and I highly recommend this trip.

It was easy to find the meeting place for the bus. The bus ride was pleasant. Our tour guide was pleasant . Both castles were nice to look at. I think there was a little time to look around at the first castle, but ok. Neuschwanstein castle was beautiful, and the village is nice to walk around. All in all a nice experience.

The trip takes you to 2 spots on the Romantic road, one in which you tour a castle/fortress in Harburg and a 3-hour stint in the remarkable Rothenburg. The guide was funny and able to corral the full tour to be prompt and on time, hastening everyone's experience. There was an accident on the autobahn that impeded traffic by 1/2 hour but the guide kept us all amused.

Our guide, Cristian Garcia was amazing!
We had a few transportation issues and he managed all of them with ease and never appeared stressed. With the delays, he asked if we wanted to extend our timeframe, even though it was his son’s birthday. Great day, great experience, great guide!!

Great trip!!! Our guide was excellent!!! We had the chance to experience details about the castles that would not have been possible without going on the tour.

Amazing views, lovely tour guide (Lotta), fantastic lunch. We were unlucky with the weather and the queuing to get into the lift on the way down was in no way organised- people were jostled around and skipped with no one from the site in charge. This wasn’t the fault of the tour company but it did put a dampener on things. Still very much a worthwhile experience. Thanks for the schnapps to warm us up Lotta! The tour of the documentation centre is very interesting and suitable for all ages from older kids upwards.

I’m not someone who gushes about experiences- especially yours. However, this tour and our tour guide, Tyler were amazing. Likely it is Tyler that truly made this experience better. He had insights, history and funny stories to tell along the way. He expertly guided and large group of cyclists on a lovely ride to a lake for a swim. You can get to the castle in many ways- but they won’t all include a great bike ride, an amazing lunch and a guide who took the extra steps to ensure you have an amazing day.

My adult son and I wanted to get out of Munich for the day. Sven was a wonderful tour guide. The drive to the Zugspitze was comfortable. The tour ticket included the ticket needed to ride the gondolas and cog railway. There was plenty of time to get lunch and there are several restaurants up there. It was a very easy way to make this trip. The guide spoke both German and English. I booked via Viator and had no problems.

Tom was our guide for Dachau and was very engaging and knowledgeable. Josh was our guide for the walking tour and did a fantastic job - also very knowledgeable. Both tours went very smoothly and were very informative. Highly recommend!

I have mixed reviews about this tour, as I felt like we had two completely separate experiences. We first stopped in Salzburg, where we were let off the bus right across the street from the Old Town. Our tour guide said we could follow her, but my husband isn't able to walk very fast, so we lost her as soon as we got over the bridge. We had a map, and the Old Town isn't very big, so we didn't have any trouble finding our way. But we only had three hours to spend in the Town, and by the time we had a chance to get our bearings and get some coffee, we only had two hours. I wanted to go up to the fortress, but we simply didn't have enough time. To be fair, this is my biggest complaint about all tours, since I prefer to be on my own time. We were able to see the outside of some of the sites, but had to allow enough time to walk back to the bus. We got back to the bus about 10 minutes early, but ended up waiting 20 minutes after departure time for two women who never showed up.

The second part of our tour was through the Lake District of Austria, and it was a completely different experience. The area is breathtaking and they even stopped the bus at one spot so we could take pictures. The bus continued to a beautiful little town on the shores of Lake Wolfgang where we got on a small boat for the lake tour. Note: the cost of the boat ride is not included in the tour, and you must pay for it before you get there. And take euros, because they might not accept credit cards. The mountains and scenery were spectacular and the boat ride was the highlight of the entire tour.

My advice for people thinking about this tour would be that if you are interested in seeing the highlights of Salzburg, you should take the Sound of Music tour. If you are interested in beautiful scenery in Austria, this is the tour for you.
