About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- marinaweiss20240 contributionsJust a bus rideI took this tour to show my father in law around, who was visiting from out of town. We took the express tour, which was fine as it hit the most important sights, but the audio guide was basically non existent. Since it’s a prerecorded guide, I expected it to provide information on all sights we passed, but instead it turns on randomly and half of the sights didn’t get mentioned. We could have just taken the trolley instead.Written July 21, 2024
- 739cristianf0 contributionsA great day out from MunichThe tour runs like clockwork. Our guide and our choffeur, Hannae and Joseph, knew exactly what to do and what to advise at every stop. The history behind the castles and the castles themselves are truly fascinating. A great day indeed.Written July 21, 2024
- malgorzataw7140 contributionsFantastic tripWonderful trip, I recommend it, Nancy was fantastic guide, very sweet person and the driver of bus 184 was a very good driver, the castle is amazing and Bavarian villages are so beautiful.Written July 20, 2024
- sms1140 contributionsBeautiful dayWe enjoyed our day! It was beautiful and Nancy, our tour guide, did an exceptional job with clear directions and check ins. (I would suggest for the bus driver- especially those of us upstairs on a hot day- to not automatically shut off the engine when parked as it got really hot upstairs. He was always kind though & turned it back on when asked. Also- perhaps ask passengers to close the curtains on a sunny day when we leave the bus for a tour. It will help with heat when we return)Written July 20, 2024
- Michele K0 contributionsAbsolutely incredible!Absolutely incredible! Our guide Elisabeth was very knowledgeable about the entire visit to the eagles near and Berchtesgaden and the surrounding area. The scenery from Munich was incredible and very enjoyable. Tour group was about 50 people. Not horrible at all and we had plenty of time to explore the area. Luckily the weather was perfect so we could really take in all of the beauty. Definitely worth it!Written July 19, 2024
- 523clayp0 contributionsVIP worth itYour was great! Seats were worth the upgrade. Monika was also an excellent guide throughout the drive and throughout the castle tour!Written July 19, 2024
- chloeA653JB0 contributionsAmazing tour with Ms DeyseThe tour with Ms Deyse was amazing with plenty of time for exploring. My little 2 year old still remembers the trip until today. The tour was very well done. The drive to Neuschwanstein was beautiful. Ms Deyse, Luca says hi! Thank you so much!Written July 18, 2024
- Nicole W0 contributionsEn enjoyable day for all agesIt is a long day, but definitely worth it, aside from the castles which are a must see it was great to see some of the German countryside and villages along the way. Make sure you take cash with you, because if you want a drink or an ice-cream most of the places only accept cash. Definitely pay the extra 3 euros to catch the shuttle to the bridge first and then walk down after you’ve done the castle tour.Written July 18, 2024
- Sherpa5155070 contributionsFascinating despite the weatherAmazing views, lovely tour guide (Lotta), fantastic lunch. We were unlucky with the weather and the queuing to get into the lift on the way down was in no way organised- people were jostled around and skipped with no one from the site in charge. This wasn’t the fault of the tour company but it did put a dampener on things. Still very much a worthwhile experience. Thanks for the schnapps to warm us up Lotta! The tour of the documentation centre is very interesting and suitable for all ages from older kids upwards.Written July 18, 2024
- FransLombard0 contributionsBerchtesgaden - definitely worth a visit!Guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Great experience. Due to road closure we could not visit Eagle's Nest and that was disappointing (due to no fault of the guide or tour operator).Written July 17, 2024

- 424trondr0 contributionsFantastic trip with a fantastic guideWe traveled with Elisabeth as guide. She is a fantastically good guide: Enormously knowledgeable, really committed and someone who went into the job wholeheartedly. She made sure that everyone had a good time, was available all the time and with her knowledge of everything from who lived where in Munich, to in-depth historical knowledge of the Third Reich, she made the trip a realt interesting experience. Elisabeth took us to the Eagle Nest, to the Berghof and to Berchtesgaden. The trip was far more substantial than we thought in advance. Definitely worth the money!Written July 15, 2024
- peteroY2282FN0 contributionsSo much history in one trip!Elisabeth was fantastic!! Really learned so much about WW2 and all the events that occurred. Highly recommend this trip!Written July 15, 2024

- jenniferbwv0 contributionsThe Happy Hitler TourHappy Elizabeth was wonderful. She was extremely informative and really looked after everyone on our tour. She made sure everyone knew the schedule so no one was late or lost. The amount of information we learned about Hitler and the Natzis was amazing. She is very positive and made sure we’re all happy. The bus ride went by very quickly because she shared so much great history. If you get a chance to go on this tour with her, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Written July 15, 2024

It was an excellent experience. At the start there is red carpet waiting for you as you enter the coach. Signifying the premium experience. The bus has single seats and food and refreshments stocked. We had Jackie as our tour guide and Vladi as our driver. They were a wonderful team. Jackie gave much needed information before arriving to the stops. Vladi drove us around and offered refreshments during stops. Everything ran smoothly. I would definitely recommend booking the tour with this company.

Wonderful experience.
VIP treatment the whole way. Well worth paying extra for. Day started with red carpet rolled out. Amazing bus. Large coach with single seats.
Plenty of snacks, hot and cold drinks including alcohol available all day. Excellent guide and driver.
Both castles were fantastic. The views from the bridge of Neuschwanstein Castle were breathtaking.
The whole day was amazing. Would highly recommend.

Elisabeth was an excellent tour guide and Vladi was a great driver. Waters and coffee were provided on the bus at each stop and snacks as well including cookies, apples and salty snacks. The information given by Elisabeth was wonderful and she was lovely to each guest and made us all feel comfortable and welcome. The stops at Linderhof and Nauschwanstein were wonderful and our tour guides at each castle were easy to understand. The bus itself is still big, but the seats are more spacious and laid out individually and each seat has a USB port available which is great. It’s a long day with lots of walking but it was well worth it.

Elizabeth was our guide for the Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof on the Gray Line VIP bus tour, and she was absolutely fantastic! Her personality and enthusiasm made the entire experience so much more enjoyable. She was informative, providing us with a wealth of knowledge. Her storytelling skills were top-notch. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Highly recommend this tour with Elizabeth! Five stars all the way!

Johni, our tour guide, and the driver, Mr. Seneca (not sure of spelling) took great care of us. They made us feel safe on a long, interesting day even as we hit traffic or had to navigate a narrow winding road up into the Bavarian Alps. We were almost late because we were confused about the meeting point, but they we so patient and kind. It was a great day.

VIP tour is the way to go with Sven. Food and drinks on the bus for adults and kids. Bus with plenty of space to stretch out after a long day touring. One of the better tour experiences.

Deyse our tour guide was delightful and took great care of our family as we got stuck in basement of castle during a major thunderstorm. She ran out into the rain to buy ponchos for everyone. She made my 6 year old daughter 'M' feel like a princess throughout the tour and protected her during the storm helping her walk down the hill from the castle that with rushing water, thunder and lightening from the as I needed to manage and carry a 21mo old toddler. We adore you Deyse :) :) hope to see you in Munich or Perhaps Brazil, maybe in Minas Gerais ;)

We are really pleased that we booked the VIP option to visit Neuchschwanstein Castle. Travel was by luxury coach with panaramic windows so great views of the countryside and mountains once we headed out of Munich. We certainly received a VIP experience with hot and cold drinks on board, light snacks and a toilet not to mention the friendliness of Johnny our guide and the driver.
The entire day ran extremely smoothly, everything was arranged for us so we really did not have to worry about a thing.
Johnny shared some really interesting facts, figures, and information about the way of life in Munich and surronding area during the first leg of the trip which was great. The first stop at Linderhop Palace was incredible. It included a pre-arranged small group 35 minute tour inside the Castle which provided us with some wonderful tales about King Ludwig II, we would never have learnt otherwise. The gardens around the Castle were beautiful, we were lucky to have enjoyed them on such a sunny day.
We also had a short stop at the most pictureseque village (Oberammergau) and once again Johnny kindly shared some historical information about the village which was great.
Final stop, Neuschwanstein Castle, the most beautiful drive heading to it and a wonderful photo opportunity from a bridge opposite. Johnny, politely impressed upon us the importance of keeping to the timing. To have lunch, recommending that we take the bus ride option to the bridge photo opportunity (not to be missed) before meeting at the Castle entrance for our timed tour. Wise words, there was a queue at the bridge, I think we were waiting approx 20-25 mins which we were told was pretty good. There was no time to spare so we were really glad we followed Johhny's advice.
We had lovely lunch of grilled sausage and potato salad at Schloss Bräustüberl, which was promptly served, before heading to the bus ticket office (cash only for a couple of Euros per person from memory) which took us up to the bridge photo op and Castle. For info, we walked down from the castle rather than take the bus which was fine as downhill.
The whole day was incredible from start to finish, not only because of what we saw but because it was incredibly well organised and informative, allowing us to truly enjoy ourselves and not worry about a thing. It is pretty busy around Neuschwanstein and entrance into the Castle is timed so I imagine it would be challenging to organise yourselves without knowledge of how your trip may pan out.

Would I be able to bring my travel luggage to stow under the storage area in the coach ?
Written February 15, 2022
I would think you could. Bus seemed big enough. But we did not ask o take ours
Written February 16, 2022
Why do some people say the bus has two seats per window, and others say only one per window?
Did you meet the bus across from the train station? Was it on line?
Did you get to stop at Oberammergau?
We booked this tour for June 2020 so I am hoping it is worth the extra money for the small group.
Thanks for any info you can share....
Written February 29, 2020
The bus is a two seater per window but only carries about 30 people with extra leg room. They provided snacks and beverages. The guide was SUPER! It was a very good tour.
Written February 29, 2020
Why does the schedule say Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday if I am able to book a a Saturday tour? Are these tours available on Saturday, June 13? Will the tour stop in Oberammergau like the information says....I see many people complain about not stopping there. Thanks for the info...
Written February 23, 2020
I cannot answer your questions.
I took this tour late last summer. We did stop at Oberammergau but only for an hour or so. I think they may use that stop as a time buffer...if they are late leaving castle Neuschwanstein, they may have to skip Oberammergau.

Hi can you tell me if there is sufficient time to explore around the castle grounds and surrounding countryside? Can you skip the interior tour and do your own thing?
Written September 29, 2019
Yes, you can certainly skip the interior of the castle and explore the castle grounds but you will not have time to visit the surrounding countryside. You only have a very limited amount of time to visit Neuschwanstein Castle before moving on to the next location so I would recommend visiting the bridge and Castle instead of roaming castle grounds. If you would like to visit the castle grounds and countryside without any significant time constraints I would recommend renting a vehicle so that you can explore the area at your own pace.
Written October 1, 2019
Hi, can you tell me if the 2 hour drive from Munich travels a route that gives a good opportunity to see the Bavarian countryside, and is viewing good from the bus for everyone?
Written September 29, 2019
I think it does but I sat on the left side of the bus - it had a good view.
Written September 30, 2019
Hello, may I know if all entrance tickets are covered or do we need to pay separately? Thanks!
Written September 22, 2019
All entrance tickets are included in the tour price. At Neushweistein Castle (aka Disney Castle) the bus parks at the bottom of the road/path to the castle. You can walk (30mins), ride a shuttle bus (2-3 euros) & then walk about 15 mins, or ride a horse drawn carriage (3-4 euros) & then walk about 15 mins.
