It was an excellent experience. You first go to the Radius Tours office to make yourself known. Our tour guide was Lucia. You then make yourself down to the train station to Salzburg. Lucia was lively and funny. You’ll have a fun time if she is your tour guide. We had a great time in Salzburg. You get a 1.5 hours walking tour around town then you’re allowed to roam freely for 3 hours. We visited Mozart’s house and tried the famous Sacher Torte from the Sacher Hotel. A must try. I would definitely recommend this tour. It was a nice side trip to Austria from Munich.

Mark was an excellent tour guide on our day trip to Salzburg. He made sure the group travelled safely in the “pack” from the train and bus. He explained things well and was so delightful. We were traveling with two teenagers, who absolutely loved it as well. Great trip!

Super informative tour that was made better by Josh's passion for the topic. It was a crazy hot day and Josh was very intentional about adjusting to find shady spots to share his knowledge and ensure people were not getting overheated.

Our tour guide was wonderful. It is a big hike up to the castle if you’re out of shape. It’s very pretty and the tour is well organized. The inside is eh, ok. Nothing spectacular and no pictures allowed. It’s worth doing though.

We had a great trip to Neuschwanstein Castle Patrick was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. He gave us a fun and interesting history lesson on the way to the castle, helped us navigate the grounds and tour and really made this a great trip. My wife, two kids (13 and 10) and I all had a great time.

Patrick was outstanding! The best of both professional and personal, very well informed on the history and even the obscure details of the story of Ludwig and the Hapsburg dynasty. You could easily see his passion for the content of the tour and the interactions with the guests. If you are in Munich, seek out this tour opportunity and make sure Patrick is your guide, he goes above and beyond!

I am interested in booking a trip to Neuschwanstein castle from Munich on Aug 1 for 3 adults and 1 child (12 years). Couple of questions:
1. Where do you pick and drop from? What time? We will be staying near Altstad
2. I understand tickets to the castle are not included. Are they guaranteed to be available and we can buy them at the bus?
3. Does your guide accompany inside the castle? How long is the actual tour inside the castle?
4. How much free time do we have near the castle to take pics etc?

The tour departure is always at our office, the Radius Tours Office. Please find yourself there 20 minutes prior to your departure time. Entrance tickets are not yet included in the price, but you can purchase them at our tour office upon check in!

We were in Munich in April and took the tour to Nuremberg by train and had Jeff as out tour guide. He was fantastic. When we assembled in Munich at the train station, we had only 13 people, but when we arrived in Nuremberg train station, we had 27 more people join us. Jeff said this is unusual for a tour so large. He did a great job keeping up with that many (40), but group was too large!

We are planning to take a Radius Tour to Neuschwanstein. Is there any time to explore the town of Fussen before or after the castle tour? Do we need to pack a lunch? Approximately what time (4pm, 6pm?) is the train trip back to Munich? thanks

We did have some time before and some time after to explore but not a ton. My friends and I walked down to the Alpsee and hung out in the sun for a while where you also catch a good view of Hohenshwangau. We all bought food at a street stand so packing a lunch is a good idea. I don't quite remember what time the train ride back was, maybe we got back into Munich at 7ish? could have been later.

The majority of the tours that I looked into took the train, so that is the meeting spot. There is lots of transit that gets you to that location.
