We took 48 hourly tickets for the three lines and we are very satisfied. The bus are regular and come on schedule, there are always seats on the upper floor and the main attractions are toured.

Worst hop on hop off tour we’ve done. Unfriendly staff, huge gaps of dead time on the audio that could be filled with history. Literally minutes go by with no information at all.

Standard hop on / hop off. Audio guide. Comfortable bus. Safe driver. Would be better if they’re meeting point were more descriptive that “outside the Bahnhof” but otherwise highly recommend.

Not worth it, worse than every other city I’ve used. Cannot recommend as there are much better tours for the city.
The tour is slow, you sit in traffic almost the entire time, and they take the same routes in some parts.
The narration is very poor. I speak English and my partner speaks German, and we were both bored. The narrator tells you what you are seeing, then you get one sentence to explain it. No history, nothing of interest, just very high level and a bit basic.
This tour is more than twice the price of those we have done in the UK and Germany. For such a big city with so many beautiful sights, it would be so easy for them to do so much better.

I would not call this bus sightseeing at all. Just a ride through the city. The info on the speaker was not interesting. And it wasn’t very much they told us about the different places. So, just a bus ride.
The staff at the main bus stop, that they said on the ear plugs was there to give you information was rude, and shouted back at me when I asked when the next bus came. I felt like I was bothering them with questions… I thought it was his job answering questions about this.
Very bad experience.

So disappointing. The bus barely slows down much less stops! On our tour only two people got off and only three got on. The driver speeds past the tourist sites, not even slowing down. Our “day tour” was over in 45 minutes. And it wasn’t like they were running late, we caught the bus at 10am.
Barely any mention of important buildings or history but lots of comment about buying tickets to a particular comedy show. We felt very disappointed as we regularly ride Hop on & Hop Off buses in new cities and have found them a good way to quickly get a sense of the city and help orient you.
Don’t waste your money, there are much better guided walking tours or private tours. This is poor quality I’m sorry to say as Munich is a beautiful, friendly city.

There are lots of good tours available in Munich - this is not one of them. There are 3 routes to go around, each of which takes around an hour. There is a pre recorded commentary available that doesn’t provide much information about the sights or the city and it seemed to be out of sync in one of the routes. The buses are infrequent - I had to wait over 40 minutes when I got off at the Nymphenburg Palace. They seem to be in partnership with the other hop on hop off tour and you can use your ticket on both of the services but neither of them seem to be following the advertised routes or running with any regularity or to the advertised timetable. It was slow and confusing. The only decent way to do it is probably to stay on for the duration of each route and don’t hop off or you’ll be waiting ages for the next one. There are better ways to see Munich - I don’t recommend this.

Terrible. Slow, bad service. Employees don't speak English and they have a hostile attitude. One person tell you something and the other will tell you the opposite. Best to avoid it.

I have used HOHO buses in dozens of cities around the world and usually find City Sightseeing to be one of the better companies. This is without a doubt the worst I have ever used.
There are only 12 stops all up over 3 routes, and many of the stops have little or no points of interest.
We purchased tickets today for 2 days and we traveled on the red route which is supposed to have 6 stops. The bus did not even go near 3 of the stops and we were given no information when purchasing tickets that this would be the case so we waited at a stop for more than 1 hr before deciding to just walk to another stop.
We will not even bother trying to use our tickets tomorrow.
The bus that we did travel on looked like it was due for the scrapyard many years ago.
The blue route has 3 stops but a bus only comes every 2 hours.
The map given is literally the worst of any company I have ever seen, and does not even say which stop is for which line.
Everything is within walking distance so save your €25 each and give this company a big miss.

I bought the two day pass on the Hop on Hop off bus ( red bus) with its different routes. The buses start near Munich Central Station and some of the stops included Nymphenburg palace, Olympic park, Marienplatz, English Garden and various museums. I always use the hop on hop off bus wherever it is available. A convenient way to explore the city.

Does the sightseeing bus passes by Allianz Arena in Munich?

I am in munich for only two days do you suggest the "red" bus as a option on day one

Hello,
I'm living in Municg and have done th redbus tour just 2 weeks ago.
Not sure of you have seen my review - but this was by far the worst bus tour I ever have done.
However it's worthy to enjoy this city by bus - there is an other operating company offering bus tours.
Enjoy

I will be arriving munich on 16th june (night). I will be staying in Hotel Holiday Inn South Munich. My tour with Trafalgar will start at 3.30pm on 17th June. However, according to the tour itenary, we will only be visiting the Marienplatz and on our return trip, the olympic park. I plan to visit Nymphenburg castle, BMW Welt and Allianz Arena on the 17th of June before my tour starts.
Would you recommend i take the grand tour plus circle? According to the website, the non stop tour takes 2.5 hours and starts at 9.40am. I am just worried that we might not make it back to our hotel in time (3.30pm), as it says that the bus departs every 60mins from nymphenburg castle, BMW welt and Allianz Arena.
Or should I take the train to these places.
Any other way that i can cover these places in the short duration of time i have?

In my opinion may be you should narrow down your itinerary. As the BMW is very near to Olympic park...may be you can spend less time at Olympic park & walk over to BMW, then later join back tour group.
Then you need to do Nymphenburg & Allianz only. This can be covered using the Big Top buses. Do refer to the map of this locations. Hope this could help... Cheerio and have a great time :)
