The chef captioned the clip: 'Former corporate chef tells you the three things you might not know.'

First, he revealed that McDonald's uses the same supplier for multiple food items.

However, there is one item that has its own manufacturer, according to the former chef.

He explained: 'McDonald's uses multiple suppliers for all of their things - not only because they are so large but because if there is an issue with one, they could just get another supplier to make it.

'But, there is one product that they only have one supplier for - and that is its pies.'

Secondly, Mike revealed that for food safety reasons there is a certain rule about cooking temperatures.

'There is a term called "McDonald's done" and what that means is for food safety purposes, most of the things are cooked at 165 degrees.

'But, when you set cook times and temperatures for food safety, you have to put in a buffer to make sure that even if you get the biggest chicken nugget in the worst fryer, it's still cooked all the way through.

'So the average temperature actually needs to be 175 or 180 degrees. So, that is when something is "McDonald's done," it won't be cooked at 160, it will be well overcooked, which is your target for food safety,' he explained.

Lastly, the former chef spoke about the facility, which has since closed, that the fast food giant used to train employees at.

He explained that the large space was located in the suburbs and was a great place for new employees to get up to speed.

It was also used to test the products as well crew placement.

Chef Mike compared it to a 'movie set' - adding that it was always packed with action.

'It was a multi-thousand square foot room where multiple kitchens could be set up to replicate what it would be like working at McDonald's,' he explained.

He also said that the people working at the facility were always cooking a large amount of food.

'The crew would have to actually execute these orders,' he added.

So, whenever you needed '36 chicken nuggets or 50 milkshakes,' you could just go up and grab them.
