Faye Dunaway, 83, signs autographs for fans in NYC while promoting her documentary that includes appearances by Sharon Stone and Mickey Rourke

Faye Dunaway exuded elegance as she promoted her new eye-opening documentary, FAYE, in New York City.

The Bonnie And Clyde actress, 83, wore a classic black suit with a white blouse as she greeted fans ahead of her appearance on Live With Kelly And Mark on Monday.

The Oscar winner wore dark athleisure shoes for comfort. 

Her long blonde hair was parted in the center and styled in loose curls that cascaded around her shoulders.

The big screen legend's makeup up looked camera ready with a soft pink lip and she accessorized with gold earrings and a gold brooch on the collar of her blouse.

The Thomas Crown Affair actress happily signed autographs for fans who had been waiting for her by the stage door. 

During her appearance on the morning talk show, she spoke about her storied career, winning he Academy Award for her performance in 1976's Network.

'The word on the street was that it was kind of my year,' she told her hosts.

'But when they said my name, it was an amazing moment. 

'I jumped, got up and somehow made it to the stage,' adding, 'it's important, they can't take that away from you.'

She also revealed the backstory of the glamorous  and iconic morning after photo in which she posed in a cream satin robe and black high heels by the pool at the Beverly Hills hotel with her Oscar statue. The picture is the thumbnail for the bio-doc.

The Chinatown star said it was 'a thing to stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel' at the time, and the late photographer Terry O'Neill, who later became her husband 'talked me into getting up at 5:00 am for this picture.'

She revealed a hidden message in the snap.  

'Notice that the newspapers at my feet are announcing Peter Finch's posthumous Oscar, so it's a kind of bittersweet "is that all there is?" photograph as well.

FAYE - which includes appearances by Sharon Stone and Mickey Rourke - is scheduled to debut on HBO on July 13

In the telling documentary, FAYE, Dunaway opened up about her troubled childhood  according to a press release from HBO

She also reveals for the first that she suffers from bipolar disorder.

'I was very depressed, moody,' she conveys in the trailer, 'And I'm still responsible for my actions. I came to understand the reason.' 

FAYE - which includes appearances by Sharon Stone and Mickey Rourke - is scheduled to debut on HBO on July 13.
