F1 fans hit out at Brad Pitt for 'disrespectful' move during the British Grand Prix: 'Read the f***ing room'

Formula 1 fans were divided over Brad Pitt's appearance at the British Grand Prix over the weekend.

The A-list actor was spotted at Silverstone filming scenes for his upcoming sports action drama - imaginatively titled F1 - in the paddock alongside the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.

Although Pitt and his co-stars have been spotted at several races over the past year filming the Joseph Kosinski-directed flick, he rubbed fans the wrong way on Saturday afternoon.

The Oscar winner was seen walking into the media pen after qualifying for an 'interview' alongside real reporters, however several fans took issue with the fact he stood beside McLaren's Lando Norris while he was discussing his difficult qualifying session.

'lando having a heartbreaking interview meanwhile the fake f1 drivers from the goofy movie walking up behind him and doing their interviews i can’t do this s**t anymore this sport is so unserious,' one person wrote on X.

'imagine you just had a stinker of a race and there’s brad pitt right behind you having a fake interview about his imaginary race win,' another chimed in.

A third wrote, 'can you imagine being a driver this season and the entire time you’ve just gotta deal with brad pitt just in the background larping on his own ... i truly can’t get over it he’s literally there. at their job. PRETENDING to do their job???? it’s so funny.'

Another fan added, 'hot take but it’s a bit disrespectful and weird to have brad acting next to the drivers who are experiencing so many emotions after a race and brads just in their space.'

Others disagreed that the move was 'disrespectful,' claiming both Pitt and the F1 drivers were simply doing their jobs.

'He's not interrupting any of the drivers interview, he just doing his job,' one person wrote.

Another echoed the sentiment, 'It’s hardly disrespectful, F1 is entertainment and a business. What Brad is doing is bringing more light to the sport which will invariably bring more money to the drivers and everyone else.'

Earlier in the weekend, Apple Films dropped the first trailer and poster for the film, which is due to be released in the summer of 2025.

In the promotional materials, Pitt was seen rocking the helmet of his fictional team, 'APXGP,' alongside Damson Idris, who plays his teammate.

The movie will involve all 10 F1 teams, the sport's drivers, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile and race promoters, with filming due to continue as late as the Abu Dhabi race in December of this year.

The cast also includes Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, Samson Kayo, and Callie Cooke.
