We stayed here at the beginning of February 2020 for 7 days.
Beach The resort is close right on the beach. Unfortunately there was a lot of sargassum during our visit (which can happen) BUT I was disappointed they do not have a more modern and efficient way to clean the beach - ie use a tractor like other resorts. Just be aware the water was black/murky when we were there. Hotel Overall There are no towel cards and always plenty of towels available. The resort is VERY clean and we had a wonderful housekeeper. Lots of wildlife to see like iguanas, birds and coati. The entertainment was very good. The pools were very nice and also very clean. Everyone we spoke to who used the bowling alley said this was a great added feature. We found that even though they had peddlars walking the beach, they were not bothersome or aggressive and only approached you if called over. They have a beautiful patio off of the main lobby area overlooking the sea and the pools. For the most part the merchandise in the gift shop is not outrageously priced. Restaurants and Food They have a good selection and the food was good. MIke's Coffee and the coffee at the lobby bar was very good. Staff Be aware the intro includes aggressive sales tactics. If you hold out long enough on committing to their "free" shopping trip and breakfast they will offer you many freebies.Just remember to weigh this with the value of your time needed to invest for your free gifts. Bottom line...it is a time share. Staff is good and bad. I am not using specific names of the staff as the hotel is encouraging the staff to guilt customers into providing 5 star ratings across the board. This looks bad on the hotel and is not in any way a poor reflection on the staff! We did not notice any difference in service when tipping. In the future we will wait until the end of the trip and seek out the really good staff to tip them. Taxi Service You will find a chart listing fees in the main lobby. We paid 600 pesos return to Puerto Morelos and 300 pesos return to the zoo. Taxis actually WAIT for you for up to 2 to 3 hours. You pay when you are returned to the resort. The lobby staff are always happy to call the cab company for you. I felt very safe!
Overall, lovely hotel, close to the airport, a small zoo and a beautiful little town called Puerto Morelos.

We visited over Christmas and I thought it was decorated beautifully and the Christmas Eve dinner in the Buffet was enormous and very good. Everything from various Seafood to chicken to roast beef. Thank you to Teresa, who served us on the beach, super fantastic. Was sad when she was pulled to a different area. One day there was no beach service. Lenin, Juan were great at the swim up bar (always smiling), Carlos in the Privilege bar, and Estella, Eduardo and Garcia at the lobby bar. Our room was always cleaned when we arrived back from the beach, all waiters and waitresses were friendly. The check in staff need to take some lessons on kindness and when they say they will do something, do it. It took me 5 calls to get a dehumidifier in my room (all room should have, they are so helpful with the mildew smell and keeping the room dry). I need it due to allergies. I was told my room was on the top floor, which I asked, nope it wasn’t and a couple right behind me had one on first floor and got moved to beautiful 4th floor ocean view. I don’t spend a lot of time in my room so oh well. This is not my first time here and go back just because of the staff as mentioned above. We were lucky and ocean was free of seaweed.

A friend and I stayed at OCT for a week. At the advice of my travel agent, we did not upgrade to ‘Privilege’. The room and resort on a whole were quite clean. We did not have trouble getting into any of the a la carte restaurants since we ate early and were there for 6 pm or shortly after. We especially enjoyed our dinner at Terraza D’Italia, Luis Trevino was an excellent host. The steak and veal were cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed eating at Sensai. WiFi was great throughout the resort, even by the pools and was complimentary which I hear is a bonus since a friend stayed at another resort nearby the same week and had to pay $30 USD for three days for spotty WiFi.
The only suggestion I have is that the public washrooms near the pools be renovated to a bit larger cubicles, they were narrow and awkward. They could have been cleaned a little more frequently during peak hours of use.

The hotel is off the beaten track a little bit but has an impressive entrance. Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating within there capacity. Our room had a multitude of things wrong with it, broken door lock (which I had to spend three hours in the room while they fixed it) no electricity to wall sockets, smelly water in the bathroom -at peak times very slow running hot water. These issues (apart from water) all got resolved when they were informed. Pools lovely, the sun beds badly need replacing. Very attentive kindpoolside waiters bringing drinks to you Buffet restaurant, lovely friendly staff but food often cold and popular food runs out and not replaced. Themed restaurants, blue moon and the Japanese restaurant were amazing. The outdoor Italian was good. The rest were frankly terrible bad tasting food couldn’t cater for vegetarians. Entertainment team were outstanding Bar staff brilliant. Good choice of drinks. At night watching entertainment it would be nice to have your drink in a glass not horrid plastic cup? Lovely bowling alley with bar. I had a good time but the food, the room and sun beds let it down for me

We arrived on 1/1 for a 7 night stay in a Priv Royal Master Suite and we had room 17208
I was disappointed with this resort, I have stayed here before, as well as many times at other H10 resorts in Mexico, which is why I chose this location for the priv service and lounge.
We had one of the best rooms on the property, that was fine, our housekeeping staff went over and above.
I felt that some of the restaurant food quality was just average, did not like the Villa Marina or the buffet for breakfast or lunch and we did not eat at the Japanese as they were not practicing social distancing around the tables.
The beach service was fine as long as you started off your day tipping and continued throughout the day, they were pleasant but at times inattentive
We had a butler as well that we only saw when we came to the priv lounge to have breakfast, he was usually at the desk and did make our dinner reservations for us.
As for COVID the signs were all in place asking people to respect everyone's space, they had hand sanitizing stations throughout the property as well, it wasn't hard to keep space since occupancy isn't at 100%.
I feel as a traveler that the occupancy is obviously driving the staffing levels which everyone blames on COVID but the guests are not paying COVID pricing and we are the ones that are getting less service for the same price, of course the risk I took venturing out on a vacation in January.

The room was a junior suite and very nice room. The food and restaurants are in close proximity to each other so no carts are needed. There is a coffee shop with snacks that is great as you are coming back from beach area. I had a bit of a walk from my room. The elevators do not work and still do not work. That is the only issue here. The night entertainment is average but the beach and area are lovely. There is a lunch restaurant beside the beach which is great. I do not prefer this location because my favorite is Akumal Beach Resort but because it is very close to most areas and is more economical I do like it for these reasons. There are stairs going down to main level. They have accessibility for disabled which is good. The food is good and if you are looking for not the most elite spot this is just fine. Will come back. In addition this place is close to Puerto Morellos fishing village which you can visit walking along the beach.45 mins walk. It is a keeper. Usually Air Transat flight 6 am which is the best as you get in at 9 45 am. When you do this going through passport area is a breeze as it is an early flight. All in all visit at least once.

So far I am really enjoying this resort. I’ve been here less than 24 hrs and the food is great, drinks at delicious and music/vibe spot on.
What is a MAJOR issue and has upset me on my first day here is the pool chairs.
My mother and I got up at 8 am and went for breakfast and saw that ALL the pool chairs had towels on them even though only about 25% were actually occupied. So we walked around for a couple hours stopping for breakfast and also asking guest relations about it. They said wake up earlier to get a chair but when pressed Said “yes we have a policy of not saving pool chairs”.
When we walked by some chairs that we knew had not been occupied in several hours we asked someone near the pool and they moved the towel and “one shoe” off 2 chairs.
We sat down.
Several hours later a family showed up and demanded their chairs back. The women sat on the bottom of my chair and refused to Move for at least 30 min.
This is unacceptable. You cannot let your guests “save” chairs for hours for no reason. They aren’t using them, and those of us who are ready to sit by the pool have no where to sit!
It left a terrible impression on me. Also that security came and watched her sit on the bottom of my chair and decided not to help.
My mother and I really like your resort but won’t ever come back or recommend it unless you address this with us.

We stayed at OCT for two weeks. Everyone from the bellboys, reception, bartenders, kitchen staff, waiters, entertainment team and cleaning staff were friendly and attentive to our every need. During our stay OCT maintained the maximum 30% capacity and kept all areas of the hotel properly sanitized. You will definitely be able to enjoy your stay without worrying about crowdedness or getting sick.
We wanted to thank the following OCT crew. You made our trip really special!
We loved sharing stories and laughs with all the bartenders at OCT. Our favorite bar was definitely the lobby bar and our favorite bartender was Estrella - thank you for the laughs and always remembering our favorite drink!
We loved all of the restaurants but our top three were: (1) Girasoles, (2) Bistro and (3) Ritratto D' Italia. All of the bars and restaurants use a QR code to view their menu. We thought this was a great way to maintain health safety measures. Do not leave OCT without having one of Edith's sweet crepes!
Thank you to the Blue Team for organizing all of the daily activities that kept us entertained. Our favorite activities were the crazy games, dance lessons, professional dance performances and BOWLING!

The overall experience at Ocean Coral and Turquesa is really good. I have some pros and cons to share. Firstly we were checked into 2 occupied rooms! They quickly relocated us to 2 other rooms across the hall. Secondly we freshened up and went to check out one of the many restaurants for supper. After attempting to access 4 different restaurants, only to be told it would be a 2 hour wait we then gave up and went to the buffet. The following morning we went to the pool and could not find a free bed without a towel on it at any of the 4 pools and this was at 8.30am! So I went to see customer service to express my frustrations in the first 24 hours of my 10 day vacation. I did manage to get help with making reservations for restaurants. Louisa was most helpful and checked in with us throughout the 10 days to ensure we had restaurants reservations set up. The towel game at the pools continued and we chose beds at the pool that had towels on but no personal belongings. I was not going to be getting up at 4 or 5 am to reserve a bed! I feel this really needs to be dealt with for the benefit of all the guests and not just privilege. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds were kept very nice. The beach had some seaweed but not really a big problem. The entertainment throughout the resort was amazing. The Blue team (especially Eric) was outstanding. We had much fun at the karaoke nights. The blue team were the best. The staff in general were very friendly and helpful throughout the resort. The spa service (massage and facial) was nice but I feel the sauna, steam room and hydro are in need of a clean and upgrade. The food in the restaurants was delicious and my favourites were the Japanese, Mexican and Italian. Overall we had a great 10 days and would probably return in the future. Our teenage girls did not want to leave.

We booked a two week privilege vacation and were not disappointed. From the moment we checked in, the staff were exceptional in making our stay most enjoyable. Their attention to ensuring all went well, their friendly presence and willingness to assist in any way made for a pleasant experience. As we spent most of our time on the beach, our Concierge, Jose Luis Cen, went above and beyond service. The guy never stopped setting up loungers, cleaning up when people departed and ensuring that everyone was enjoying themselves. Despite having three large areas to cover, he did so always with a smile on his face! Miriam and Carolina were two very hard working non-stop beverage distributors! Just watching them carry large trays of beverages across tricky sandy terrain was exhausting. Yet, never a complaint, delivery always with a smile. Making reservations at the a la carte restaurants was a bit of a chore. Could only book two days in advance. Would have been simpler if we could have booked a whole week all at once.
