Fun way to spend a cloudy or rainy day!
We went with our 4 yr old on a cloudy day as an alternative to a beach day. He ended up loving it and it was a highlight of the trip. He was able to feed macaws, deer, xolo dogs, spider monkeys, and turtles. He was able to hold a baby snake and pet a baby crocodile, deer, and dogs. It takes about an hour to go through the entire sanctuary and it’s about 30 mins from Cancun’s hotel zone. Would recommend for families with little ones, but don’t forget to bring bug repellent because it is a walk through the jungle and we got some mosquito bites.

    Nice family outing
Nice zoo for a 1-2 hour cool thing to do. Good English by staff. Monkeys were great fun to watch! My husband was offered wheel chair which made things easier with his injury.

    Nice Zoo
To do if children It's a little expensive, but the guide is included. Our guide Ana was very good. She explains very well. Takes 1 hour. There are especially crocodiles that you can touch, as well as snakes and parrots. The children loved it, especially the interactive side.

    A guided animal tour
A fascinating hour learning about the local animal life. Our guide, Sandra, was a biologist who showed us around. We hand-fed the parrots, deer, and turtles. We saw crocs, a coati, hairless dogs, basilisks and margay cats. We held a boa and petted a baby croc. The local spider monkeys swung over our heads. They gave us umbrellas when a tropical shower went over. It was a great way to spend an hour before our flight home! Would go again. Highly recommended. (About $30pp in January 2024.)

    Great place !
Great experience! We were looking for an activity for our 6 and 9 year old that wouldn’t take the whole day. The tour lasted 1.5 and our guide hector who is a biologist was able to give us interesting information about all the animals onsite. Did you know that crocodiles have a 2nd eyelid that they use when they go underwater? Highly recommend this tour!

Good time spent here and some suggestions
2:ND time here. 6 years since last time and it still is very good place to spend some time If the members of the zoo reads this I would like to suggest to use only native Mexican animals! Also to add a new area dedicated to native insects Spiders, ants, praying mantis, scorpions and more.....

A nice but rather small Zoo with well looked after rescued animals. Lots of Crocodiles, turtles, parrots and some snakes among other species. A guide takes you around the entire Zoo making the visit feel almost like a private occasion.

Croco cun was located at the entrance of our hotel. On the surface it didn’t look anything special or very big.

We did a lot of exertions and we’re struggling to find anything else do local to us.

After reading reviews on trip advisor and the the reasonable ticket price, we thought it would be a no brainer to book.

Well!!! It was definitely money well spent!

This wasn’t the biggest and most popular zoo I’ve ever visited but there was something about it that I enjoyed more than any other.

My favourite zoo to date!!!

The setting was absolutely beautiful, its like you’re walking through the jungle. You feel closer to the wild life more than other zoos.

We would like to thank our super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful tour guide Hector! Thank you for making this my favourite day in mexico, not rushing or clock watching the tour.

We ate at the cafe on site and the Chicken baguette was delicious and packed with chicken. The side of jalapeños just hit differently!! The prices were more than acceptable and not like other zoos with extortionate prices.

Wonderful place to visit with kids of any age (mine are 3 and under)! Had a 1 hr tour of the zoo and we’re able to pet crocodiles, feed monkeys/parrots/turtles/deer/raccoons, and even hold a (very friendly) snake. Very professional operation with a great mission, well-maintained, and reasonably priced. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Also, another tip - the gift shop here has the best prices around on Mexican ceramic. Highly recommend for families of all ages!

Our guide, Hector, was excellent. He was patient and well versed on the indigenous wildlife. Nice small zoo built into the natural surroundings. The Macaws and parrots were the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately we did not get to experience the wild spider monkeys. The price of $39 US at the gate was 3-4 times the price of our local zoo, which is mid-sized for the US. But Croco Cun may not receive much other funding to operate. All in all we had a very good experience and I recommend going there if you stay in Puerto Morelos.

One of the highlights of our trip. David was a supurb guide with good English and an obvious pasison. He built a great raport with our children 6 and 9 and the tour was just the right pace with all questions answered from very inquisitive children. Also great to see such conservation efforts in practice. Thank you.

My family visited Crococun this past week while visiting Dreams Riviera Cancun. We had a very mixed experience. I want to give it a 5 star rating but I just can't.
My almost 3 year old announced on the plane that he was going to Mexico to see "Alligators, monkeys, turtles and dragons!" Crococun seemed like the perfect place for him. Our guide Diana was great, and showed him how to feed the birds, coatis, turtles, and monkeys. He saw every animal he had wanted to see.
Unfortunately, we had a negative experience with one of their dogs. Our guide gave my son some food to feed the dog. My son is pretty calm and gentle. He held out his hand with food, and the dog lunged and bit my sons neck.
The bite was minor. The dogs teeth only scratched my sons neck, thankfully. My son and I were both very upset. He cried for a few minutes and calmed down. The zoo vet came and looked at the wound and cleaned it. She showed me the rabies shots record too.
I would have appreciated if a manager had come to check on him, apologize, or if they had done something to make up for it. Even offering an ice pop would have put a smile on his face.
I'm grateful that my son is okay, but this was still traumatic for us both. He has spent the last few days occasionally bursting into tears and telling me he's scared of "the doggy saying woof woof".
He also tells me that he wants to go back to the zoo and see the monkeys and crocodiles and turtles again, which is why giving this place a negative rating is so difficult.

Croco Cun is just a hit with the kids every time we come. It is a good experience with the kids and there is always a great sense of calm and quiet.
This time, during COVID-19, it would have been nice that a group of 8 people had the guide exclusively and other people went in their separate groups. Seemed quite easy and this time cost the 5th star.

We haven’t visited the area in years but our kids still remembered, and our daughter couldn’t wait to return to Crococun. Although 18 now, she and her friend loved it as much as before...and so did we! Our guide was Luisa, and she was amazing. Adult tickets are a bit pricey, but we felt worth it.

Sandra was our guide for the tour of the zoo! She was so informative about the species and answered a million questions from a very excited child. She was clearly passionate about her job and the conservation work that the zoo does.
We had an amazing time touching a crocodile, holding and feeding the birds, feeding the Mexican hairless dogs, feeding the turtles and holding Penelope the boa constrictor.
Seeing the apidermonkey holding its baby was amazing. Memories to treasure.

I would highly recommend this tour IF> you like one on one interaction with birds, crocs, snakes and deer. The tour guide is excellent and very informative. You do not have to hold/touch/feed, if you do not want to. You can buy food to feed.
