Let me start off by saying the restaurant, cleaning, bar and service staff are awesome! They are friendly, accommodating and helpful. The food was great. The drinks were better. The timeshare situation was our biggest issue, and the way the H10 Premiere representative spoke to me. We had been led to believe it would be a 30 minute presentation over breakfast. When we showed up the morning of, we were told it would last about 90 minutes. I paid for an ocean front room and upgraded to Privilege (no "Privilege" rooms available - we paid extra for the services which was a total waste of money - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY) We booked an ocean front room. Our room was located on the first floor behind the main restaurant. In order to see the ocean, we had to stand on the edge of our lanai and look left. During the busy meal times, we couldn't even hear the ocean over the clanging of dishes and the breaking of ice. When I expressed disappointment in the room's location, she proceeded to tell me that was my fault because I had used a 3rd party to book the trip. We were done. This is our first visit, you are trying to sell me more, but the room was my fault. I canceled the presentation and said we were not interested. She continued to argue with me about the room and H10 both. I was so disappointed! The resort is beautiful and the staff was wonderful, but this kind of behavior should not be allowed or tolerated in any hospitality based business. We had a great time, despite this incident.

A few of us friends got together in Mexico for a long awaited tropical vacation. We had a blast at this resort with everything they had to offer! Even during this pandemic, the resort was able to take the necessary precautions to keep their guests feeling safe and comfortable with clean rooms and facilities. I must say that the drinks were absolutely on point thanks to our friends Gustavo, Orlando, and Eduardo. Another perfect compliment to the sun, sand, and waves was the pool side entertainment provided by Fernando, Esmerelda, & Jorge’s team which had us laughing and excited for what they had planned. Keep up the good work my friends and we sure won’t forget Fernando’s famous words “ Shalalalaaa”!!!

My wife and I are finishing up a 7 day vacation at this resort. For the most parr, it has been excellent. There are some negatives to be aware of so I will give some Pros and cons. First the positives. Staff and service have been outstanding. Omar at the front desk started our trip off with his service. Eric at the Italian Restaurant went above and beyond to make sure we had a truly exceptional experience and Jose Luis Cen the beach concierge was impeccable with his service and dynamic personality. Next the food is very good. The buffet rivals any cruise industry buffet restaurant. The pools are big and clean. And while I have seen many reviews regarding the air conditioning in the rooms we have not had a problem keeping a comfortable temp with the ceiling fan running. Now we have found some negatives including the seaweed situation on the beach. While you can lay out and sit on the white sand you cannot go in the water. In addition the water is not a beautiful turquoise color but rather a dark blue brown. While the employees work all day cleaning the seaweed, they cannot get ahead of it as it just seems to keep coming in. I do not blame the resort for the situation but people should be aware of this. We did upgrade to Privaledge and found we enjoyed the upgraded liquor choices, having someone make our dinner reservations and using the lounge. I understand it would not be for everyone but it made sense for us. Finally there is at times a foul odor throughout the resort which seems to be certain areas and could very well be from the seaweed on the beach. In any case it did not detract from our vacation and all in all we have thoroughly enjoyed the resort.

Pick another resort! Unfortunately this hotel has one thing in mind for your stay and it is not in your best interest, profit. Most restaurants are closed with only two options a day. The juice bar and blue moon were not open for the entirety of our 5 day stay. Restaurants have limited reservations so reserve quickly or you will be without food. Do not order the steak and know that room service is extremely limited from the hours of 11-6 for non-privilege guests. The hotel has very poor guest services and customer service. People will follow you around and try to convince you to listen to a timeshare presentation with false promises of free gifts. Run! We actually had staff speak to us in perfect English then when we declined the sales opportunity they preference not to speak English. We had bedbugs in our first room and had to be relocated. See picture. The rooms are not cleaned during your stay and no fresh towels or soap.

My husband I visited OCT in January 2021 after being married on the beach in Mexico just days prior. This was to be our honeymoon portion of the trip. We choose this resort as it was smaller and more affordable than the huge resort where we held our service. We could not have made a better choice. We did have a rough start at check-in- make SURE they put you in the room type you had paid for and requested. There IS a difference between the adult only and the family section and for this trip we had explicitly requested adult only. After making two room changes, everything else was flawless the remainder of our visit! I can’t speak highly enough of the entire staff! Specifically the following made our stay absolutely perfect.. Angel, Alfredo and their Manager Luísa in the Privilege lounge treated us to a perfect surprise dinner in the gazebo and attended to our every need! Angel was even so kind to serenade my new husband with a Mayan song for his birthday! Roberto, Francisco and their manager Javier at Ritvalto Di Italia again blew us away with their service and kindness for dinner the following night. Miguel Flores, Privilege Service Manager, checked in on us several times and was so kind as to send a gift of champagne and dessert to our rooms as yet another surprise. Jose Luis Cen, Beach Concierge, had our favorite sports at the adult pool and beach ready for us every day, with a huge smile on his face always! “Ricky” Ricardo the adult pool and beach waiter never once allowed us to go thirsty and constantly came up with the best drink ideas for us. We left after 5 days feeling like we were leaving family behind. Thank you OCT for a dream honeymoon! We will definitely be back! E & Melissa K.

Getting away during the COVID pandemic caused a little anxiety, but once at the resort, we had no worries! Hand sanitizer everywhere, all staff wore masks & shields, and shoes cleaned prior to entering any restaurant. Resort was very quiet due to low capacity and there were limited restaurants open, but the adults pool was our perfect spot. Ricardo (aka: Richie) was so attentive and amazing.

Overall great hotel, pools, ocean access, and food/drink. We booked through Air Canada Vacations super last minute and it was a great price, so were not expecting too much. Note that for anyone with Air Canada vacations to get your free transfer from the airport, they won’t have a sign waiting for you in the usual area outside the Cancun airport- keep walking past all the people with signs towards the parking lot and there is an Air Canada booth to catch your transfer from. The staff were all very helpful/friendly, and small tips get you far (especially at the bar). The last week of Jan when we were there was nice and empty (apparently 1/3 full) and that combined with masks in all restaurants and gloves at the buffet meant it felt safe Covid-wise. Restaurants were easy to book the day of, as long as someone in your party just wakes up in the morning and uses the booking website. All the restaurants were great except Girasoles (the Mexican one!) - the food was really unauthentic and disappointing. One of us is vegetarian and could easily eat everywhere. It was our honeymoon, so when we checked in we told them and after checking our marriage certificate we got a late checkout, ocean front room upgrade, private special dinner setup outside, and a breakfast in bed (all very nice). Highly recommend taking a walk to Puerto Morelos, which you can do all the way along the beach from the hotel (1 hour walk); it is a cute quaint town and some great restaurants. If you love cats, they seem to love them on the resort too (little cute cat village where they feed them and they live). Yes, the beach had sargassum but we happily swam in the ocean and they were constantly cleaning it (not a big deal). Loved the tennis courts and good quality racquets. Finally, the wifi was amazing (could do video calls from pool, room, lobby, and even spots on the beach).

Leaving this morning. Spent here two weeks. First want to thank Gustavo and Bernobe at the lobby bar. Very friendly and welcoming, making a wonderful start to a day by preparing amazing cappuccinos. Every morning before even reaching the counter my coffee was already being prepared. Thank you!
Resort is clean, slightly dated. Rooms are spacious and we were more less comfortable In one room with party of four. Mini fridge refilled daily.
Upon arrival if you are North American you will be targeted for a time share presentation for privilege area. We refused at first but then agreed for the tour. Lupita, our presenter was wonderful and knew very well her selling phrases, however it was her manager who was very unpleasant. She was pushing this very special offer that was valid only in those minutes, which frankly we did not understand. She was extremely unfriendly and she was main reason we were not interested.
Food. Must admit we have had better food in other Cancún / Riviera Maya resorts. Frankly we were disappointed. Restaurants don’t need prior reservations however it is first come first serve basis and if you are not willing to wait till 9 pm dinner you will end up in buffet with all your dressup and makeup:) Restaurant portions have wonderful presentation but are very small so you might want to consider two plates of different kind. Japanese restaurant Sensei was great. This is the only restaurant that requires reservations that have to be made at 8:30 am in lobby area.
Entertainment. Well it is a resort type of entertainment. We found best ones to be Circus and Fire Show. Karaoke was a success - depending on the crowd:)
Beach and Pools. Pools look great , although we don’t use them. Our main reason for travel is the beach. Seems hurricanes have left it’s mark. Beaches are not as wide anymore, which is not necessary a bad thing, however the water is muggy. All two weeks it was muggy and not clear. We took some walks up north along the beach about 2/3 km, and water seemed to be clear there during few days. Otherwise it is full of seaweed which might be seasonal?! Beach chairs are there but if you want umbrella you should wake up with the sun and reserve your spot.
All in all, it was our first vacation since COVID started and we are grateful, yet most likely will look for different resort next time.

My best friend and I went here on a girls trip to celebrate our 50th birthdays. We had both stayed here previously, which is why we picked it. When we first arrived our room wasn't ready so we went to eat lunch and then sit by the pool. When we finally got to our room there was a bottle of wine and a fruit platter that we were given since we were celebrating our birthdays - which was very nice. We quickly noticed that the mini fridge had not been stocked and there was half eaten leftover food in it from the last person who had stayed there. I called the front desk and they promised to take care of it. When we came back to the room later, the fridge had been stocked, but our bottle of wine had disappeared. I notified no less than 4 people of this and they all promised to take care of it but none did. We also quickly noticed the chair situation. There is not nearly enough chairs on the beach and at the pools. By 7:00 every morning every chair had a towel on it being saved. Sometimes no one would actually be at the chair for hours at a time. And if you did manage to find a chair most likely it was broken or torn. The chairs are in terrible condition and very uncomfortable. You also have to make reservations at all ala carte restaurants through their app or website. They open at 8 a.m. and within minutes all reservations for the day are gone. The buffet had long lines, the same food every day, and most of the time the food was just mediocre and warm, not hot. Even the food at the ala carte restaurants was often served cold. Many mornings the breakfast buffet was out of lots of food. When our room was cleaned, they took towels and washcloths and didn't replace them. One day they didn't even bother to clean our room. Most nights we took lukewarm to cold showers because there was no hot water. The bars had long lines and it was nearly impossible to catch a server at the pool or beach to get a drink. It seems that the main issue at the resort is there's a staffing shortage. It seems that they've opened back up at full capacity but don't have the staff to be able to support it. The workers were doing their best to provide good service, but there just weren't enough of them and too many people staying there. I really enjoyed this resort when I was there in 2019 but was extremely disappointed this time and will never book here again.

We had a beautiful honeymoon at OCT. The resort location is great, the grounds are well kept and we had a very nice upgraded Privilege room. The Privilege concept is a bit confusing. You can have a Privilege room but still don't get access to privilege services unless you pay extra for those services, like access to an exclusive lounge, beach and premium liquor.
The resort wasn't crowded but busy enough so that it felt dynamic. They had a few shows outdoors at night which were pretty good.
The main buffet was great for breakfast/lunch, I found the food more than acceptable. Not too many choices but I thought it was tasty. And the service is always exceptional. Poncho was one of our frequent servers and he made us feel appreciated. Thank you Poncho!
The Sensei restaurant was the best. Great show, laughter and tasty hibachi. It's great that it's included. And the Girasoles mexican restaurant would be our next best one. The fajitas we're great though the fish tacos were exceptional. And Jose, our server was super attentive and made us feel special as we celebrated our honeymoon.
They did offer onsite Covid testing to meet airline guidelines and the price was the same as going to a clinic. So that was very much appreciated!
Overall it was a great value and I'm glad we picked OCT for our honeymoon!
