Detailed Reviews
A good choice hotel for the budget conscious. Hotel is spotless and staff are very friendly. Rooms are a fair sized but furniture is a little tired. Not a luxury hotel but that is reflected in the price. It has good Metro connections to city centre and there is a selection of bars and restaurants in the area [ highly recommend the EL ROBOST DE L'IBERIC DI LUCIANO, C/LUCA 13-17. This restaurant is 2 minutes walk from hotel in next street, you won't be disappointed, first class food and excellent prices. Only 7 tables so book or go early]. Area is hilly. Nice small pool and sun area on rooftop. If travelling by Metro i advise printing out the review by CHRISTYSDAD, 22ND APRIL, 2015, as it has excellent directions to the Hotel [ trust me you will probably need them]. If using the Valcarco metro then it is a fair walk uphill with suitcases.

Me and my wife have spent five days in Barcelona with two to go and our experience of this hotel has been a really positive one so far, It is in a typical gorgeous Barcelona neighborhood but a bit out of the city center. it doesnt matter though because the metro will take you downtown in 10 minutes and it is very close to the hotel, and the hop-on-hop-off buses stop very close from the hotel as well. There is a small supermarket next door and large one within walking distance, and there are also some great diners nearby, recommending "euro kebab for great value for money.
The girls that clean the rooms are very flexible and do their job really well, and the hotel staff is always ready to help with any questions about the city.
Our room hasnt been the greatest, with the TV in a place you hardly ever sit down at, pipes on the walls that make noise and the bed is really hard, but the positives are too many and outweigh that.
To summarize our experience in a few words: Beautiful and convenient location, amazing staff, good wifi and good value for money. Rooms not perfect but you have good privacy and you feel safe and well taken care off. if we go again to Barcelona we will try and stay here again.

I stayed at this apartment hotel with my sister and her three children aged 8 and 6 years, and a 10-month-old for five days in June. Our apartment (one long room) was very clean, comfortable and functional. There was a free wifi, and the air conditioner was very good. And there was 24-hour reception service with wonderfully kind and helpful staff. The only downside was the traffic outside at night - our apartment on the 2nd floor faced the street - hence I would recommend earplugs for light sleepers,. The kids, on the other hand, did not seem to notice anything. The children loved the swimming pool on the roof, spending hours splashing there, and the roof terrace was clean and spacious, also safe with the baby. The lift did not go all the way to the terrace, you need to use the stairs for the last floor, but the staircase was right next to the lift. If you're travelling with a baby, you might want to pack an electric kettle and a whisk with you in case you want to make baby porridge fast, but there was a microwave oven and a stove with two hotplates in the kitchenette. There are several small grocery stores nearby, one right next door, and two metro stations (Vallcarca and Tibidabo) within a 5-minute walk. I would recommend Tibidabo station for people travelling with a pushchair because it has a lift. There's a direct metro line to the centre from both of these stations. All in all, we were very satisfied with our stay.

Stayed here with friends over a weekend. Bertran is located in Valcarca, slomewhat off-center in a neighbourhood of small, narrow streets. The terminal destination of the L7 is close by.There are many breakfast places around, but not many bars or restaurants. Bertran offers small, well equipped apartments with balconies, kitchenettes, bathrooms and a small living space with sofa, table and TV. There is a nice and large roof terrace with a small pool and a great view over the city. As an apartment hotel, there is no regular breakfast service, although they can arrange something.
Pro:
- good location
- great value
- apartments equipped with kitchen, fridge, some dishes, TV, sofa, balcony
- great roof terrace with pool
Con:
- place could use some remodeling
Summary: This is a great value choice relatively close to the city center. We enjoyed it. Would stay there again. Recommended!

Once reached the hotel, the staff was speaking english and welcoming us and informing all the necessary touristic stuff to us. Very helpful.
We arrived during the weekday afternoon and there was plenty of parking spots. The parking costed 17 euro for the whole stay, not per day.
The room we had was with balcony, room 4xx. The room was really huge: there is living room, dining room, and bedroom. The kitchen has almost modest everything we needed and clean, supplied with detergent and washing tools. It has enough tools for a couple.
WIFI was very good and can be used with multiple devices. We didn't take any breakfast.
It is about 20 mins walk down and up to the Park Guell by foot. The subway is about 10 mints walk. Banks are also about 7 mins walking distance. There are several supermarkets nearby within the 10 mins walking distance, very convenient. This hotel seems to be at the residential area. So it gets very quiet at night.
It is very hard to drive the hills up and down through narrow roads fighting spaces with the fast motorcyclist to reach the hotel.
The swimming pool looks dirty, and the water was very very cold during september early month. The temp reaches around 30 degrees, but don't know why the water is very very cold during the day. And it doesn't looks like the pictures on the website. It is around 3 meters x 2 meters size pool.

In general, the other reviews of this hotel are pretty accurate. I stayed there because it was close to where I needed to be and also because of the reasonable cost. I found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful and, as an English-speaking person, was grateful that all staff could speak enough English for me to find out what I needed.
The room I had was quite basic with not much in the way of outlook but, it was kept clean, had generous space and fulfilled the requirements of my visit. It is probably best to cater for yourself and there is a local mini-supermarket store about 5 minutes walk away. The room had a double hob for cooking, a slightly noisy refrigerator, and cutlery, pans, cork screw, plates, etc., provided - although unusually, not a kettle.
There is close access to a few shops and the L7 Metro line is the most convenient way to get quickly into the main city areas. (During my visit, a 10-trip Metro ticket for zone 1 was about 8 Euros but, be aware if you have children and/or buggies or wheelchairs, that some Metro stations have a lot of steps and some do not appear to have lifts).
About 15 to 20 minutes walk from the hotel is the superb Cosmocaixa Science Museum - great for everyone, with plenty for children and adults to look at and try out with dinosaurs and interactive displays. It also has a good restaurant area. Across the road from the museum, you can set off for a trek up hill to the Collserola park towards the Collserola Tower (designed by Norman Foster and covered in ariels - and easily seen from the air if you fly into Barcelona) quite a steep walk up hill but, then a flat winding path for as many miles as you care to walk - also popular with cyclists.
The hotel is ideal if you do not want to be in too much of a tourist environment but, with all the benefits to reach the busier areas when you want to. Initially, it can be a bit daunting to find your way around Barcelona but, after a couple of days you find it is actually quite easy.

We got there to find that instead of a two bedroom apartment we were given one bedroom with an extra cot bed. It was not convenient for us so we spent one night and moved to another hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood easily accessible by public transport and the room is quite spacious with kitchen amenities. The furniture is a bit old but clean. Would recommend it for couples and families with small children that prefer to save up on food by cooking from themselves

+1
Just returned from a 4 day stay at this hotel, the facilities were great and good value for money. Rooms were very clean and you received clean towels everyday. The room we stayed in (208) faced the back of the hotel and was very quiet. It had 3 beds ( one being a camp bed) which was very comfy, a setee, easy chair, coffee table, dining table and 4 chairs, kitchen, fridge , television, plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. The bathroom had bath with shower and a bidet , hairdryer and of course a toilet. Staff were very pleasant and the hotel reception recommended restaurant Molina - at pg.sant gervasi 65, which was only 5 minutes walk away- excellent. The waiter Oscar was very friendly, we even taught him some "Geordie". There is also a supermarket nearby. Breakfast was very generous with 6 items each of buns, sweet pastries, croissants. choice of fruit juice and tea and coffee, all served to your room at a time specified by you.The pool on the roof top looked very nice but small, but the view from there was amazing. Metro station Avinguda tel TIBIDABO was only 10 minutes away from hotel and it takes 10 minutes on metro to CATALUNYA.

Stayed here for 6 nights in early september and paid 69 euros a night (!) through Venere.com. I honestly don't think I could have found a better deal in Barcelona. I got a spacious apartment with 2 singles, a kitchen (including a refrigerator!), bath tub, sofa, dinner table and a private balcony. Also, the air-conditioning works fine and everything was spotless (daily maid service). Yes, the interior is a bit outdated (think 70's style Costa Brava) and it's a little worn here and there, but nothing serious and the beds are fine.
The hotel seemed nearly deserted when I was there and I had the rooftop pool to myself a few times. Good thing, too, as it is very tiny. About 4 by 5 metres and 1 metre in depth. It's ok to cool off in, but don't expect to do any serious swimming here.
Using the Vallarca metro stop (line 3) means you'll have to climb a few pretty steep hills before reching the hotel. Not cool if you're carrying a heavy bag in hot weather after a flight. Luckily the receptionist mentioned Avinguda Tibidaba (line 7, goes directly to Placa Catalunya as well). The distance to the hotel is about the same (about 400 metres I'd say), but it's flat. So look up that one before coming to the hotel. I highly recommend the place.

We stayed at this aparthotel for 5 nights and it was superb. The Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning and it was filling - either ham & cheese or cereal, plus a bread basket and croissants. The location was great, the surrounding area was local but had nice restaurants. Metro was 5 mins walk away and took 10 mins to the city centre, was very easy to navigate. Nice small refreshing rooftop pool, nice staff. Would definitely recommend!
