The Hotel Sant Gervasi, is located 5 metro stops away from down town, in the most select part of Barcelona, where Modernist houses and new buildings enjoy a happy coexistence. This neighborhood is one of the safest & quietest in town. Close by to the Hotel, and very well communicated, you have also the following sightseeing’s: Park Güell, the fantastic park designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí and the Tibidabo mountain. The hotel’s size – it has only 63 rooms – is part of its special charm, and its guests will enjoy the warm hospitality only found in such intimate establishments. The Sant Gervasi is also convenient for all transport, the historic city centre and the trade fair site at Montjuïc.

Detailed Reviews
Silken St. Gervasi Hotel was a great discovery. Me and my fiancee stayed in this hotel in October for 3 nights and we had wonderful stay. The staff were friendly, rooms were bright and spacious. The cleaning were done regularly and towels were changed everyday. The location is good because it's 2-3mins away from the El putxet station. The neighbourhood is quiet and away from the chaos and traffic of the city centre. I will definitely reccomend this and I will surely go back to this Hotel.

A very nice hotel with modern, clean rooms and excellent service. The value for money was frankly unbelievable, and the location is excellent for the city centre, airport and all the sights we wanted to see. If I ever return to Barcelona, it will definitely be to this hotel.

The hotel is situated a matter of minutes away from Las Rambla and the central hub in a nice quiet area
From our experience don't accept a room on the ground floor - room was humid and i was awoken by the smell of bacon which some may like but i don't eat or like !.
Upon asking the reception what the issue was with the room temp and bacon smell - i was informed the aircon is turned off and the i was lying about the smell in room, in fact the peron was down right rude. My request was simple can i change room !.
Good price and away from the all the noise - so you would think the windows are made from paper.
Overall good price and location staff could improve somewhat

We (2 couples on a touristic trip to Barcelona) stayed at the Silken St. Gervasi for three nights in June 2009.
It was average in almost all respects. The rooms were clean, well equipped, functional, but nondescript - you could find the same room in any European 3-star from Dublin to Sofia.
Slightly annoying: when we arrived early afternoon, the rooms were not yet ready (although this had been specified before).
Each room had a safe in the wardrobe, but they were not fixed with bolts and could have been easily removed as a whole.
The hotel is located on a narrow but noisy street. One of the rooms had its windows to the street, and with an open window we were woken up at around 5 by the traffic. The other room was very calm - sleeping with the window open was not a problem.
Staff were reasonably professional and the receptionists spoke good English and French, but when one of us had lost some documents on the way from the airport, they didn't know any lost+found telephone numbers. We had found some numbers in our own travel guide book, and the receptionists were kind enough to call them up for us.
Breakfast: no need to take it at the hotel - there are a few nice places for continental breakfast in the vicinity of the hotel, especially around Plaça de Joaquim Folguera.
Getting there: the hotel is a bit off the main attractions of the city. The nearest subway station ("El Putxet", line 7) is within easy walking distance (2 or 3 minutes). But the big problem is that you always have to change trains at Plaça Catalunya (and often at yet another station) and walk through miles of tunnels there. As mentioned by other reviewers before, subway line 7 is not operated by the same company as the other "metro" lines. Single tickets for the metro are not valid on this line, you need an extra ticket. However, the multi-ride "T10" tickets are valid on all city train lines (including line 7 and the line from and to the airport), *and* they cost much less than 10 single tickets. Changing trains is included in a single ride. You can also use a T10 ticket for multiple persons on a single ride (just need to validate it several times at the gates).
Overall recommendation: I would recommend this hotel for a short-term business traveler - decent value for money. But for my next touristic trip to this city I'll choose a different place, not as far from the places of interest in town.

My husband and I booked a package for Thanksgiving weekend through an airline vacation site for Barcelona ,Spain including 4 nights at the Silken St. Gervasi. We selected this hotel after reading positive comments on this site, especially regarding proximity of metro station. Upon arrival at 8 am, the hotel found no record of our reservation, nor could I produce our voucher. We enjoyed a lovely buffet breakfast at the hotel, while Marie and Laura at the front desk worked to resolve the problem. Laura kept saying, "Don't worry, we'll take care of it. We'll make sure that you have a room. " They were finally able to contact the booking agency. Since the Silken was fully booked for one of the night, the booking agency sent us to a very nice hotel in a different location, where we could stay the full 4 nights.
We could have been stranded with no hotel,no voucher, and no contact, but Marie and Laura spent a lot of time setting things right , even though the problem was not of their doing. They made our wait as pleasant and worry-free as possible, even calling a taxi for us and insisting we not pay for breakfast. We could not thank them enough and hope to return in the future to stay at this hotel, where we know we will be well taken care of.

Stayed only one night, booking it on the day itself (at Venere) after we decided to extend our stay in Barcelona. Overall, a fantastic experience!
Though the map shows that this hotel is situated quite a distance from the main area (Ramblas, Placa Catalunya), a short 8-minute FGC train ride (no transfers required!) will take you to straight to Placa Catalunya metro station. Even better, the hotel is just round the corner (barely 200m) from the FGC Station (El Puxtet - Line 7).
Although rated as a 3-star hotel, the rooms could easily pass off as one belonging to that of a 4-star equivalent. Lobby area is very new, while staff are polite and fluent in English. There's also a convenience store (SPAR Express) right across the road from the hotel entrance.
Do note that it's in a quiet area (the hotel seems to cater more for businesss travellers), so don't expect a wealth of F&B outlets (or entertainment for that matter) within the immediate vicinity after business hours.

I took my Boyfriend to Barcelona for his 21st for 3 days and we had a fantastic time!
I was quite worried about booking the hotel online incase it didnt meet my expectations but I can honestly say that I have no complaints about the hotel/holiday!
The hotel is exactly as you see it in the pictures...the rooms are spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom. We had a MASSIVE bed, safe (no extra cost), mini-bar, TV with satelitte, air conditioning...so there was everything you would possible need!
The staff were very friendly, always willing to help and spoke very good english!
The hotel is situated in north Barcelona but we didnt find this a problem at all because the metro station is literally a 2 minute walk and only 4 stops away from the centre (aprox 10mins). If you would rather take a taxi then it is aprox 12€ from the hotel to the centre!!
There is so much to do in Barcelona and I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone...me and my boyfriend are already trying to book up to go back again and if we do we would go back to the Silken St Gervasi with no hesitation!

My friend and I stayed here for three nights in mid-September and we had a very pleasant experience. The room was very clean, with nice comfortable beds. The hotel has a nice daily continental breakfast that was included in our stay. It is in a quiet neighborhood located very near to the El Putxet stop which is a short ride to the city center of Placa Catalunya. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, ready to help you in any way they can. It’s not a fancy hotel but it is meets all the basic requirements for a nice stay.

Stayed here 3 nights for a conference. Friendly staff at the reception desk and a spacious room (was upgraded to a junior suite). Enormous bed, a shower and a bubble bath. The latter was out of service unfortunately and the shower had some small spots of mould though. But in general nice accommodation. I would wanted to see an iron in the room, but you can call for one if you want.
Breakfast was nice, but I had the impression it was a bit understaffed:replenishing the buffet took a while, as was cleaning the tables when guests were leaving. Because the breakfast area is not that big, guests had to sit down at tables that were not cleaned yet.
The hotel is easily reachable from Plaça de Catalunya with the L7 line to the El Putxet station - which is just around the corner of the hotel.

Barcelona was our first stop on our Euro trip and we couldn't have been more excited. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We loved how it was walking distance to many sites and the Metro.
The neighborhood was quiet and quaint. We had the largest room we've stayed at in Europe (we also went to Paris and Rome). The only thing we would suggest is free continental breakfast, coffee, or snack. We would definitely stay here again!

Hello madam,
If you take a Metro (ferrocarrils), the line 7, from "El Putxet" (near to the hotel) to "Plaza Cataluña" it will take 12 minutes. By car it's 15 more or less.
Kind regards,
Lara from reception.
There is a good coffee shop and small bakery around the corner. The metro line is 1 block away. It was 2 Euros for a round trip to Placa de Catalunya.
Dear Hayley, our rooms have no iron but we are pleased to borrow one of our irons just asking to reception or directly to our housekeeping department.
Please do not hesitate to contact us in case of further information.
Best regards.
hi, check out was something around 12,,but yes you can leave your suitcase there,,they have baggage store, they keep them for you, till you return,,,,we arrived there before check in time, and i remember they adopt our baggage till the room was ready.
have a nice trip
As previously stated by other reviewers, the metro is very close by and only a few stops away from many sites. The hotel staff was very helpful with directions. The metro was easy to navigate and very clean. Enjoy!
