The title reveals my impression. The staff is helpful and courteous. The excellent breakfast has great variety and the selection of coffees satisfies most who need this in the morning! The kitchen staff prepared special orders of eggs. The size of the rooms is ample and the bathrooms large and well equipped The beds were comfortable.. The neighborhood is elegant, not touristic, and contains small shops, several restaurants (including the excellent Vasi next door), a couple of fine bakeries and a covered market around the corner. Access to the Metro is quick and connections to the rest of the city are easy on this first rate system. I recommend this hotel unless one wishes to be closer to the center of the city.

I actually really enjoyed staying here. at first i thought it would be out of the way but with the underground met L7 (El Putxet) it was about 7 stops to the centre. walking is good as well but the hills! Great way to shed off the amazing food.

Staff were so helpful while I was here, and free wifi (my friends stayed in a very expensive hotel and had to pay for theres) i did not get breakfast at the hotel so can not comment as i wanted to enjoy the pastry shops YUM! they are all over the place

Hotel Silken St. Gervasi is a nice and very good hotel. It was suitable for us because we have family nearby. Their are Supermarkets and Cafe shops near the hotel, Bus stops and also the Metro is not far. Recommended!

This hotel had pretty good reviews for the price range - one of the cheapest hotels we could find at peak season - and we can pretty much back them up. The biggest plus is its proximity to public transportation that can get you into town in no time.

The hotel itself is very clean and rather upscale for a not-so-expensive hotel. The room was quite tight with a baby bed, but very nice. The shower, as mentioned by others, has a ridiculous screen that doesn't always keep the water in, and there was no plug to fill up a bath (though we always carry one in case of such situations). Contrary to some other review, we didn't like the staff too much, as they seemed reluctant to give much information or help.

The location is not bad. Outside the center, but with some shops, restaurants and boulangeries near by. As mentioned, the metro (L7) is a two minute walk away, and there are a bunch of buses even closer. One thing to mention is that if you have a baby with a stroller, the metro stop has no elevator or escalator, so be ready to deal with (quite a few) stairs. This is true for many stops in Barcelona (very surprisingly). Also, the room doesn't have an electric kettle, but they will provide you with hot (boiled) water from the lounge bar.
