My wife and I stayed here on the 14th and 15th February 2020, I had read reviews on herebeforehand so knew what to expect (hence I booked this hotel for 2 nights and another hotel for 2 nights for our 4 night stay just to be on the safe side).

The Checkin was easy and staff members all pleasant with the language barrier not an issue. The rooms were fine for a hotel of this level (£83 per night for 2 people) and the hotel was located 10 mins from La Ramblas and the underground. The surrounding area wasn't the greatest but at no point did we feel unsafe.

Now the main issue the noise, right outside the window until 4 or 5am on a friday, it isn't a coincidence that it's mentioned in most reviews, you are basically right above a party. This put a dampener on an otherwise fine stay.

Would I stay here again? No, despite all the positives you really only use your hotel for rest and when you can't get that it can have a big impact on your holiday, plus the other hotel (The Corner Hotel) we went to was better in every way for a small prce increase.

Myself & my friend stayed here for 7 nights. Clean hotel, bedding & towels changed daily. Shower wasn't cleaned the entire time we were there & needed to ask for extra loo roll. Our glasses & bottled water wasn't changed either throughout the week.

Unfortunately, myself & my friend had some items taken during our stay. These had been removed from our personal bags in the room after we had requested for it to be cleaned. We needed to lock away more items in the safe alongside our passports & jewellery. We were only compensated 15 euros due to ourselves not being able "to prove we brought them with us."

The hotel is in walking distance to everything you need - we were able to walk to the beach however it is a good 20/25minutes away but the route is very easy to follow. Food was delicious & drinks also - very good prices. I wouldn't stay here again due to our unfortunate experience with our personal items however if this hadn't have occurred then I'd definitely return

We stayed here for 3 nights. Very clean and comfortable hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The area was quite noisy at night but I had read up on the area beforehand so it didn’t come as a surprise. Ear plugs are supplied if the noise bothers you.
We didn’t have the breakfast but it looked lovely. There are lots of cafe’s and restaurants close by with outside seating. Will definitely be visiting again.

No room service, no guests allowed, staff is rude, they don’t actually have a pool. Total scam - a bunch of clean ikea furniture with no appliances, toiletries, or substantial tissues/ towels. Location is also in the ghetto, you cannot walk across the street at night without getting shouted at by gangs.

Stayed for just two nights at this hotel in El Raval. The location is amazing for exploring central Barcelona by foot, but the metro is also close by for those who prefer public transportation. The Hotel is modern and clean and the staff is really friendly. I’m sursprised to read other reviews stating it’s noisy. I slept like a log and didn’t hear anything from outside nor any of our neighbours at the Hotel. Will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Barcelona.

When we arrived we were welcomed by a really friendly lady at reception, she got out a map and gave us directions to everything, she could see my water bottle was nearly empty and offered to fill it up for me. We booked a small double and for the amount of time we were planning on spending in the room it was perfect, the bed was bigger than a double the room was clean and modern and even had a little balcony. The rooftop pool was a nice surprise it was always quite and perfect after a warm day. The Ramblas was a few minutes walk away and everything seemed really close. I saw reviews saying there was a lot of noise but we hardly heard anything. I would definitely recommend and would stay again if I was ever in Barcelona again .

Absolutely outstanding and amazing little hotel in the center of Barcelona.
The staff is out-of-this-world attentive and will make you feel completely special and right at home. They are positive, knowledgable og helpful at all times.
The rooftop terrasse with swimming pool always has a gentle breeze touching it, so it is a great place to relax and cool down in quiet surroundings. Somehow, the hotel has just the perfect size that make you feel that you have the whole place to yourself, you never queue for anything, yet you never feel alone.

And, most importantly:
The breakfast is simply the best you will ever have!

This was one of the best hotel experiences my girlfriend and I have ever had! We were at Hotel Niu Barcelona for three weeks and took the time to get to know the staff and the area. Deborah, Alejandra, Jave, and Marco were really wonderful and hospitable. Our room was great, always clean, and the balcony gave us a homey view of the Rambla de Raval. We were also lucky enough to be there during the La Marcé festival! I can’t say enough good things about it! It’s unfortunate that people have left bad reviews. If you know Barcelona, you would know that it’s a late night city, dinner is usually around 20:00 or 21:00, not 17:00 . . . And the neighborhood was safe, we even got to know some of the local grocers and restauranteurs. The negative reviews are not warranted, stay at Hotel Niu and enjoy being a traveler in Barcelona, not a tourist.

We stayed as a family of 5 in July. The small rooftop pool & terrace were wonderful for cooling off in the heat . The rooms were very clean & the staff were wonderful, very helpful, kindly refilling our water bottles whenever we needed & helping us to organise trips.

The location is great, very close Las Rambla & the sea. There are plenty of places to eat & drink nearby.

Pleasantly surprised! Very cute hotel and the front desk was great! My only complaints are 1. our room was not ready at check in and when we finally were able to go to our room housekeeping was knocking on our door to clean the room when it was obviously already cleaned. 2. It’s noisy, but it never interrupted my sleep. I did notice the hotel supplies ear plugs.

Taxi about €30-35. However airport bus is €6.20 which goes into the centre of Barcelona, Catalunya Square If you know where you are going it is approximately 15 mins walk down La Ramblas turning right a short walk past the market.

Do you have American plugs available in the rooms?
Answer from Lesley O
Greater London, United Kingdom9 contributions1 helpful vote
Generally all Spanish hotels have standard two pin European electrical sockets. I am unfamiliar with design and wattage of US electrical sockets and would therefore suggest taking a European adapter with you to use on any US electrical appliances, which is what I do. You can generally buy these from most international airports.

What is the best way to get to this hotel from Barcelona airport?
Answer from naglaa s
Cairo, Egypt
Hi dear Gemma, There are several ways to get the hotel from the airport: TAXI. About 40€ and 30 minutes. If you want, we can book a private transfer for you. The driver will wait for you in arrivals of the airport showing a sign with your names. From another side, there is a special bus, service every 10 minutes, it does not work during night. Round trip ticket 10,20€ by person. It stops in Plaza Catalunya, about 500 meters from our doors, most of the way for a narrow street not very comfortable to walk with luggage, so you can take a taxi in Plaza Catalunya, about 6€. TRAIN and METRO. There is a train (R2) every 30 minutes from terminal 2 to main train station. Once you are there, you can take the metro, green line, L3, until Drassanes and walk 250 meters. Metro ticket, 2’20€ one trip. About 50 minutes. METRO. L9 Sud (orange) to ZONA Universitaria. Once there, Green line (L3) to Drassanes and walk 250 meters. There is a metro stop in each terminal (A1 in T1, A2 in T2) Special price for metro from the Airport, 4,60€ by person and trip. About 50 minutes. Hope that helps you. Naglaa
