Our experience at the Inn on the Beach was unfortunately terrible. The location and beach are beautiful. However, this is Wasaga -longest freshwater beach. Many other places to book and enjoy your vacation. The owner was very overbearing and always watching. Guests are not made to feel welcome especially children. This was noted in another review and absolutely true. It is also noted on Bookings.com. The owner actually lifted up the BBQ lid to check and see what we were cooking. Then proceeded to tell us we did not need to have so many burners on! The owner opened our condo door to tell our kids at 6pm on a Friday night to keep it down. They were playing cards ( ages 12-14). Opening our condo door was the worst I can say as you have no privacy regardless that you paid. The Inn itself was fairly nice but the expectation is that you make the beds, mop the floors and vacuum before you leave. They seemed very much about the money and not accommodations. This makes me think no one comes in to clean after you? These are the key points be aware of before booking, said in previous review and all is VERY true and real to our experience as well:
-bring sheets to cover the doorway at night (all units have the blinds removed so people can see into your rental unit at all times), We used a tablecloth to cover the window.
-the air conditioning was rarely on (our butter melted on the counter),
-make sure to bring your own dish soap (our dish soap was watered down),
-bring your own toilet paper (only one roll provided),
-no linens are provided. The cost of the linen rental is $25. Make sure to ask them to make your beds otherwise linens are just left beside the beds,
-bring your own pillows (very thin inexpensive pillows),
-the owners had their own personal guests at the Inn and used the BBQ (be prepared to wait to eat).- Previous review had this happen and so did we!!!!
I would NOT recommend this location for the reasons noted above.

Our experience at the Inn on the Beach was very interesting! The owner was very overbearing and always watching. Guests are not made to feel welcome especially children. The Inn itself was fairly nice but the ceiling fan was dusty, the pillow sham had stains and the kitchen cupboards had mold. These are the key points be aware of before booking:
-bring sheets to cover the doorway at night (all units have the blinds removed so people can see into your rental unit at all times),
-the air conditioning was rarely on (our butter melted on the counter),
-make sure to bring your own dish soap (our dish soap was watered down),
-bring your own toilet paper (only one roll provided),
-bring your own towels (none are provided),
-no linens are provided. The cost of the linen rental is $25. Make sure to ask them to make your beds otherwise linens are just left beside the beds,
-bring your own pillows (very thin inexpensive pillows),
-the owners had their own personal guests at the Inn and used the BBQ (be prepared to wait to eat).
I would NOT recommend this location for the reasons noted above.

Book anywhere else. This owner has a problem. He watches the camera's 24/7 and basically is a stocker for his guests. I am a mature professional and I have NEVER experienced such a ridiculous display of character. The rowdiest people booked at this place were the management and the friends they invited up, but the owner is giving all the guests a hard time. I wouldn't be surprised if he has camera's in the rooms. It is rather unfortunate the location is perfect, but all the drama during your stay will ruin it. They claim there is A/C however the owners are too cheap to turn it on. The beds are absolutely horrid, and they probably don't even wash the sheets. They charge a cleaning fee but they want you to clean? Unheard of! The management has ABSOLUTELY no idea how to run a business or anything about hospitality.

I've just returned from this one bedroom cottage with my family of 4. The pictures dont do it justice. It's very clean with everything you need The back bbq is top notch and cooked our burgers n steaks perfectly. The hosts were available, friendly and very welcoming. Across the lane is the beach which has picnic tables and open bathrooms. Beautiful spot. The best sunsets I've ever seen and I lived near there for 10 years!! Thanks so much guys for your hospitality. We will definitely be back!!

Upon initial booking the price of the hotel was stated to be $250 plus tax which seemed reasonable. However the next morning I was charged $414.00, when contacting the hotel I was met with nothing short of the worst customer service from a wonderful woman who claimed to be the owner. At this point I had no choice because any close hotels near by had been booked for a wedding. Upon arrival....I was met by the owner and everything else started to click together like clockwork...He told me the cost was so high due to us staying only one night and he then had to pay for housekeeping more than needed. The term housekeeping must have had some odd meaning to him. There were no towels in this hotel not even the smallest of amenities was to be found. Personally I will never return to this "Inn" ever again. Terrible customer service, insane pricing and overall experience just a .5 out of 10.

Building is nice but you won't enjoy your stay, owner on you 24/7 via camera's and sitting on the top floor looking at you. In the contact you sign he specifically states that he can come inside your unit for any reason. $30 extra for sheets. Can't use the jacuzzi anytime. you have to clean the whole unit before leaving or cost you extra $200. If you watch HOTEL HELL show this is worst then any owner i've seen on that show.

We booked for one week. We were greeted by a drunk Angelo (the owner) who berated us for checking in "late" and interrupting his drinking. That was the start. Every time we left the room, Angelo was there commenting on what we were doing. Even when we were in the room, he was outside the doors. My pre-teen daughter was creeped out. The owners have cheap blinds in front of the doors. This is a recipe for disaster, and I believe, is done on purpose to extract money from visitors. On the first morning, the blinds got stuck when we tried to open them. When we called Angelo over for help (he was conveniently right outside our 2nd floor doors), he went into a screaming fit! He accused us of breaking the blinds, started swearing, came into the room, still swearing and demanding that we pay for the damage (one slat fell off). He then said that if we didn't pay, he would kick us out. I have never seen a person so unhinged. I then spoke to his wife, who told me that he just put up new blinds because this keeps happening. I told her there is an easy fix: put blinds on the french window panels for privacy rather than across the doors! She then got upset and told me I didn't have to tell her anything because she was an "interior designer". What a joke. I called our booking agency to file a complaint. We then went to the beach. When we returned, Angelo accosted us and was unhinged. He was angry that I had contacted our booking agency to file a complaint and get a refund. He told me that if I didn't leave, he would kick me and my daughter out himself. I told him that I would call the police if he came near me. I contacted our booking agency again and started looking for alternate accommodations. In the meantime, the police arrived, as Angelo had called them. It turns out the owners of this property are VERY WELL known to the police! i told the officer that my daughter and I did not feel safe and that we wanted to leave but Angelo was hanging around outside our door. The officer stayed with us while we packed to leave. I took photos of the room before I left to document everything. We thankfully found a wonderful alternate place to stay for the rest of our vacation and were able to enjoy our visit to Wasaga Beach. But the experience shook us up. DO NOT BOOK YOUR VACATION HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE FULL ON DRUNKEN CRAZY "SERVICE"!!!

The most inhospitable host ever. Let's start with the owner's final words to us while he was kicking us out : «I hope i ruined your family vacations!» Well yes, Angelo, you did. You ruined not only mine and my family's but the ones of 5 other families that were there with us.

It started with a broken piece of plastic. That little plastic stick that is used to close blinds broke. Our friend went to tell the owner - Angelo - to be honest and Angelo started by asking him to pay him 200$ and accusing him of braking it on purpose. No he did not brake that cheap thing on purpose and he didn't want to pay 200$ for it either. It escalated to the point that the owner called the police and started to threaten him to kick him out. Then he tried to take the money directly on his credit card. We then all decided to cancel ours. He started to threaten all 6 families to cut the electricity off and to kick us out. Which he did.

Police did not know what to do, clearly seeing that he was out of his mind.

So he did cut the electricity off, leaving us in the dark and kicked us out. He gave us 200$ back from the 600$ left from the rest of the nights that we payed in advance. He also gave us an hour to pack and - again - threatened to have us arrested for trespassing if not done in time.

Kids were really upset, as well as all the parents there. NEVER have I seen anything like this.

He also has surveillance cameras all around the premises and he and his wife probably spend their entire days looking at them. We felt spied on all day long as he would come rushing down (yes, he lives on the premises!) for every little thing that didn't fit his «book of rules». And rules, there were a lot! He also was nasty with the kids and they were scared of him. It felt like it wasn't his first time doing this.

So, all the bad reviews you read are true. Take the time to read them all before thinking of booking there!

On a positive note : Wasaga beach is beautiful ;)

Angelo, the owner completely ruined our vacation. Literally. He kicked us out because I asked him 4 times to turn on the AC. We stayed 4 nights out of our 7 days booking, and he cut off all power in the room and actually called the cops. The cops said that he has done that many times in the past. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.
No Wifi, No AC, and the owner has gone completely insane.

I had a terrible time, the beds were uncomfortable and not as promised. The owner leered at my children and then when there was a disagreement he told him they would go to jail. This is a terrible place to stay
