Just back from spending 6 nights here.
Location was good for getting about. Only 10 mins max to the middle of the ramblas and Liceu metro. The hotel is in its own square with restaurants and bars and there are a lot of little supermarkets around. It isnt the cleanest/poshest part of town and my gf commented she would feel a bit nervy walking about on her own around here at night.
the room was a good size and the bathroom quite spacious for a hotel of this type in a city. Bed was comfy. The room had 4 Uk language channels but they are all news so we just watched some netflix which the wi-fi coped with fine.
However:-
The room lacked somewhere to hang up coats.
There is barely any surface space so its hard to find anywhere to put anything.
Windows on to the square barely cut out any noise. Its nice having the square to look over but when dogs barked, for example, it was as if they were in the room.
The internal noise is bordering on ridiculous. We didn't sleep past 9am on any morning due to either the cleaners or doors slamming or drilling or hammering. Whoever agreed to have these door locks made a big mistake, the are so heavy. You simply cant close them quietly even if you try and soft close the door. Most guests just let the door shut on and it sounds as though it is being slammed shut and it goes right through the room. You can hear bags rustling from the corridor as if they were in the room.
All told we were comfy and liked the style and the location worked but we wouldnt sign up to stay here again and would search somewhere with less noise

Room wasn't clean when we checked in - bathroom shower had mold on outside, bed sheets had residue from previous guest's clothes. Room was incredibly noisy from other guests arriving late until 4 a.m., and thin windows barely muffling the outside noise. We checked out 3 nights early after these issues and were told by the desk clerk that we'd be getting a refund for the remainder of the trip. After we left, we were told we'd be penalized one night, which was a completely different thing than they said to our face. Possibly the worst hotel experience we've gone through. If you do stay here, get everything in writing and force the staff to give you receipts.

They have awesome internet speed & very clean. Be advised the hotel provides two sets of earplugs that should give you an indication of the sound level at night.

We enjoyed our stay here very much, the rooftop pool was a great alternative to the beach however only 4 deck chairs meant we sometimes missed out. Staff were very friendly & relaxed and did not mind us having a couple of friends to visit .
Rooms were clean and nice however a little small and a fridge would be good to have in the rooms.

I stayed at the Hotel Niu Barcelona for four nights this May. The hotel is conveniently located just a five minute walk to La Rambla and 10 minutes to Placa De Catalunya and perhaps 20 minutes to the waterfront.
This is a five story hotel with 27 rooms and a friendly staff that goes above and beyond to accommodate their guests. The staff went out of their way to arrange tours of various sites in Barcelona on short notice.
Located at Rambla del Raval 8, there are a dozen or more restaurants just outside the front door. In the lobby the restaurant “Ilya” offers an excellent assortment of tapas and wine as well as a variety of breakfast dishes.
As an American having traveled through Europe a fair amount I find that the bathrooms of the various hotels at which I have stayed often impact my stay and my assessment of a particular hotel. Let me say that the bathrooms at Hotel Niu Barcelona are the best I have encountered. There is ample room in the bathroom, the shower (no tub) was spacious and featured two shower heads from which to choose. There was ample hot water and ample water pressure.
I do not hesitate to recommend Hotel Niu Barcelona and will be certain to stay there again the next time I visit that area.

We recently stayed for 5 nights at Hotel Niu, all the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The double room we had on the first floor was a very good size, had a very comfortable bed and a good shower, we also had a small balcony looking out into the main street.
The location of the hotel is perfect for a base to explore the city, there are plenty of bars, restaurants and public transport nearby to cater for all needs.
The restaurant/bar on the ground floor was also very good, we ate lunch here a couple of times, they had a good tapas and drinks selection.
There is also a cocktail bar in the basement which we used one evening before heading out for the night, the vodka Martini and Cosmopolitan were excellent.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

Booked the hotel after a cruise. Room very small, air conditioning broken,and couldn’t keep window open because of the all night noise from the apartment building adjacent to hotel. Didn’t sleep all night.....

A small and new hotel in Barcelonas Raval area. Perfectly located on Rambla Raval. Make sure to have the breakfast included in your pride as it will cost you 12 Eur por presión in location and it is a nice one ( small buffet but with good quality, available until 12!).
If you need to unwind there is a small pool in the roof and if you want to wind up a night club in the basement.

Lovely clean compact hotel.
Room are very small, some are bigger so I would request next time I book. Very clean, beds are comfortable.
Would go back again, good location.

Taxi about €30-35. However airport bus is €6.20 which goes into the centre of Barcelona, Catalunya Square If you know where you are going it is approximately 15 mins walk down La Ramblas turning right a short walk past the market.
Generally all Spanish hotels have standard two pin European electrical sockets. I am unfamiliar with design and wattage of US electrical sockets and would therefore suggest taking a European adapter with you to use on any US electrical appliances, which is what I do. You can generally buy these from most international airports.

There are several ways to get the hotel from the airport:
TAXI. About 40€ and 30 minutes. If you want, we can book a private transfer for you. The driver will wait for you in arrivals of the airport showing a sign with your names.
From another side, there is a special bus, service every 10 minutes, it does not work during night. Round trip ticket 10,20€ by person. It stops in Plaza Catalunya, about 500 meters from our doors, most of the way for a narrow street not very comfortable to walk with luggage, so you can take a taxi in Plaza Catalunya, about 6€.
TRAIN and METRO. There is a train (R2) every 30 minutes from terminal 2 to main train station. Once you are there, you can take the metro, green line, L3, until Drassanes and walk 250 meters. Metro ticket, 2’20€ one trip. About 50 minutes.
METRO. L9 Sud (orange) to ZONA Universitaria. Once there, Green line (L3) to Drassanes and walk 250 meters. There is a metro stop in each terminal (A1 in T1, A2 in T2) Special price for metro from the Airport, 4,60€ by person and trip. About 50 minutes.
