Excellent Hotel, Great Staff

I stayed at the Hotel Niu Barcelona for four nights this May. The hotel is conveniently located just a five minute walk to La Rambla and 10 minutes to Placa De Catalunya and perhaps 20 minutes to the waterfront.

This is a five story hotel with 27 rooms and a friendly staff that goes above and beyond to accommodate their guests. The staff went out of their way to arrange tours of various sites in Barcelona on short notice.

Located at Rambla del Raval 8, there are a dozen or more restaurants just outside the front door. In the lobby the restaurant “Ilya” offers an excellent assortment of tapas and wine as well as a variety of breakfast dishes.

As an American having traveled through Europe a fair amount I find that the bathrooms of the various hotels at which I have stayed often impact my stay and my assessment of a particular hotel. Let me say that the bathrooms at Hotel Niu Barcelona are the best I have encountered. There is ample room in the bathroom, the shower (no tub) was spacious and featured two shower heads from which to choose. There was ample hot water and ample water pressure.

I do not hesitate to recommend Hotel Niu Barcelona and will be certain to stay there again the next time I visit that area.

We recently stayed for 5 nights at Hotel Niu, all the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The double room we had on the first floor was a very good size, had a very comfortable bed and a good shower, we also had a small balcony looking out into the main street.
The location of the hotel is perfect for a base to explore the city, there are plenty of bars, restaurants and public transport nearby to cater for all needs.
The restaurant/bar on the ground floor was also very good, we ate lunch here a couple of times, they had a good tapas and drinks selection.
There is also a cocktail bar in the basement which we used one evening before heading out for the night, the vodka Martini and Cosmopolitan were excellent.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

The hotel lobby is pretty funky and although we didn't eat in the restuaurant it looked pretty good and were always plenty of other people there - which is normally a good sign.
The bedroom was a decent size with a nice shower and bathroom. Bed was very comfy.
AC wasn't great, if you like a cold room. Ours got pretty warm.
The location is great, close to main shopping streets, plenty of restaurants all around the hotel too.
