The room was nice. When we arrived there was a sock on the fire allarm on the ceiling. It dissapered after a few days. The walls were thin, you could hear everything from the hallway. The people next to us kept slaming the doors between 12 and 3 in the morning which was sooo annoying. The neighborhood was sketchy, didn't feel safe, especially at night. The worst part of our stay there was the fact that my tank top went missing from my room! It was on my luggage when we went out and gone when we came back. So dissapointing. The staff said they looked after it and did not find it but it is suspicious if they didn't take it on purpose. Also there were flies in the room that were so hard to catch and kill. I don't recommend this hotel at all!

Stayed here for 4 nights 13-17 Feb.
Very nice hotel, spotlessly clean, staff are very helpful and friendly and the Breakfast is also very good.

There are just a couple of not so nice streets to walk through to get to La Rambla, fine during the day but not great at Night, it’s not a major issue.

I would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Hotel was clean and enough freshly renovated, room was enough spacious for a hotel in old European city center, personnel was cheerful and service-minded. Hotel is very conveniently located in the city center. The only but huge minus was the hotel neighborhood: the district is, seems, turned into a Muslim quarter with respective condition of surrounding estates, dirty streets, chaotic trade, loud traffic, etc. It was like tranferring from Spain to a sort of Turkey or Pakistan every evening, when returning back to the hotel at the day end.

We picked the hotel for the location - the Rambla del Raval runs almost parallel with La Rambla. The area looks like it is being developed and will be lovely when it is finished - lots of restaurants and places to eat. A few supermarkets too. However, in the evening it is lacking some street lighting. There is also a large sports area just behind the hotel. Our room overlooked that and it was very noisy until as late as 3am. Not ideal! The windows didn't seem to block out much of the noise.

The room was clean and well decorated. However, there wasn't much counter space for putting anything, other than 2 small bedside tables. But there was enough hanging space in the wardrobe and plenty of shelves. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was clean. Shame that the air con didn't go lower than 21.

The bathroom was spacious but again not much storate space for putting toiletries. And the timing of the automatic light didn't allow for long showers before it switched off! But the shower was huge and the water pressure was great. Plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and we were able to store our luggage before departure. I get the feeling that this hotel is quite new and can see it becoming popular over time.

A small but lovely hotel in the centre of Barcelona, a 5 minute walk from Las Ramblas. However, I found people playing on the street around the hotel at 2, 3 and 4am which kept me awake.

The room was clean and modern but very small and very little storage space, especially in the bathroom in which I had to put most of my toiletries on the floor... The automatic light in the bathroom made it quite scary when the light switched itself off mid shower.

The rooftop pool was lovely and towels were available from reception. Pool was nice and cold and with not many sun loungers it was nice and quiet and relaxing.

Overall, staff were very lovely and friendly and we had a nice 2 night stay in this hotel.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and hotel very clean . It smelled lovely inside and the lobby was very inviting. Breakfast was served from 8:00-12:00 and very yummy. Convinient location and walking distance to La Rambla and the Beach. We felt safe but the area is a bit run down. Our room was super small which was really a bit annoying. No room to put your luggage ( we stored ours under neath the bed ) and absolutley no room around beds. Our view was a living room from the local family living in the building across and their laundry and a basketball court.
If you dont care about the size of your room and looking at somebody's laundry than this is a good place to stay. Maybe other rooms are bigger . Our room was standard size ( you could almost touch the walls from one side of the the room to the other) .

Indeed this is a new hip hotel close to the rambla.
This was the first time for me in Barcelona and I really enjoyed every moment.
The staff is amazing and very very helpfull.
The Airco was broken for 1 day, but the hotel gave a good compensation (free breakfast for al the guests) The breakfast is really afforadble (€12) and really tasty.
I will come back for sure.
The man at the reception also gave an amazing tip for good tapas: O'Toxo Tres Hermanos. Thats a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
Gracias Hotel Niu and see you next time.

Brand new hotel with modern rooms with everything you need for a nice stay. Good beds, fancy bathrooms, a nice reception, and central location. The pool is very small, but a nice gem. Everything is very clean and new, and the hotel is small and intimate. A very nice hotel if you would like to live in a quiet neighborhood close to everything.

We lacked warm water in our room, and we didn’t get a new one or compensated for that in any way. Not a crisis as we used family’s room for shower, but we thought we deserved at least a breakfast for that. If that was ok, it deserves a full score.

great central location for the city, reasonably priced and clean comfortable rooms. The food looked good although we didn't eat there, plenty of drink choices. Stayed for a long weekend and all the staff were helpful and friendly, very knowledgeable on the area and what Barcelona had to offer. All in all a great find.

Stayed in Apr 2018, and had an excellent stay - travelling as two couples. Great location, clean and spacious rooms and nice private rooftop pool area. Picking any criticism, there was a little outside noise due to being opposite a public square with restaurants - but nothing that would disturb sleep.
La Ramblas is about a 10min walk, Marina 20min and Beach 25min. We walked almost everywhere due to accessible location.
Great stay overall.

Taxi about €30-35. However airport bus is €6.20 which goes into the centre of Barcelona, Catalunya Square If you know where you are going it is approximately 15 mins walk down La Ramblas turning right a short walk past the market.

Do you have American plugs available in the rooms?
Answer from Lesley O
Greater London, United Kingdom9 contributions1 helpful vote
Generally all Spanish hotels have standard two pin European electrical sockets. I am unfamiliar with design and wattage of US electrical sockets and would therefore suggest taking a European adapter with you to use on any US electrical appliances, which is what I do. You can generally buy these from most international airports.

What is the best way to get to this hotel from Barcelona airport?
Answer from naglaa s
Cairo, Egypt
Hi dear Gemma, There are several ways to get the hotel from the airport: TAXI. About 40€ and 30 minutes. If you want, we can book a private transfer for you. The driver will wait for you in arrivals of the airport showing a sign with your names. From another side, there is a special bus, service every 10 minutes, it does not work during night. Round trip ticket 10,20€ by person. It stops in Plaza Catalunya, about 500 meters from our doors, most of the way for a narrow street not very comfortable to walk with luggage, so you can take a taxi in Plaza Catalunya, about 6€. TRAIN and METRO. There is a train (R2) every 30 minutes from terminal 2 to main train station. Once you are there, you can take the metro, green line, L3, until Drassanes and walk 250 meters. Metro ticket, 2’20€ one trip. About 50 minutes. METRO. L9 Sud (orange) to ZONA Universitaria. Once there, Green line (L3) to Drassanes and walk 250 meters. There is a metro stop in each terminal (A1 in T1, A2 in T2) Special price for metro from the Airport, 4,60€ by person and trip. About 50 minutes. Hope that helps you. Naglaa
