Diane Von Furstenberg compares watching new documentary about her life Woman in Charge to 'being at the gynecologist'

Diane Von Furstenberg made a colorful comparison when discussing what she felt watching the new documentary about her life, Woman in Charge.

The legendary Belgian fashion designer, 77,  said that watching the feature felt 'like being at the gynecologist.'

She made the hilariously candid confession during a talk after the screening of the documentary at the Tribeca Festival on Wednesday, as per Page Six.

'I looked like s**t. I said I liked wrinkles, but I didn't realize I had so many,' the fashionista, who was previously married to Prince Egon von Fürstenberg of the former German princely family of Fürstenberg, shared.

Joining Diane — whose former sister-in-law passed away earlier this year — at the event was her current husband, Barry Diller, 82, as well as her son Prince Alexander von Furstenberg.

Also in attendance was model Karlie Kloss, Arianna Huffington, Selma Blair and fest co-founder Jane Rosenthal.

Despite the comparison, Diane said she enjoyed the film, and that it is a tribute to her mother, Liliane Nahmias, a Holocaust survivor.

'I did enjoy [the film],' she said during a Q&A with Gayle King.

'At the end, it's really a tribute to my mom... That's why I had a big life. My mom wanted me to have a big life.'

The film was directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Trish Dalton.

It features interviews with Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, and Marc Jacobs.

The documentary is set to debut on Hulu on June 25.

Von Furstenberg herself always described the dress as a symbol of female emancipation and sexual freedom.

She has been compared to Coco Chanel for her role in liberating the female form from the constraints of wiring and tailoring.

Diane wed her billionaire husband Barry, who is a senior executive and chairman of IAC (which he also founded) and chairman of Expedia Group, in 2001.

Earlier this year her former sister-in-law, model and socialite Ira von Furstenberg, who was considered one of the earliest 'It girls', passed away.

Ira died aged 83 in Rome, according to Italian media outlets.

Her brother, Prince Eduard Egon (known as Egon), was the first husband of Diane, with the pair married from 1969 to 1983.

Aside from their son Alexander, 54, Prince Egon and Diane, also share daughter Tatiana, 53.

The pair wed after meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland at a birthday party when they were both 18 years old despite her admitting there was no attraction at first.

Despite their split, they remained close until his death in 2004 aged 57.

The pair split after they were profiled in New York Magazine in 1973 that was headlined: 'The Couple That Has Everything. Is Everything Enough?'

In it the couple were portrayed as 'both promiscuous and passion-devoid,' according to InStyle.

'The result was shocking and it destroyed our marriage,' Diane would later pen in her memoir, The Woman I Wanted To Be, published in 2014.

'Reading the magazine and seeing our lives exposed under a magnifying glass, I realized that that couple was not who I was. I didn't want to be a European Park Avenue princess with a pretend decadent life.'

Infidelities on both parts and her career also contributed to the couple's split. Their divorce was finalized in 1983.

She was by her ex-husband's side when he died in 2004.
