Eric Roberts revealed that he is 'not supposed to talk about' his daughter, Emma Roberts, as well as sister, Julia Roberts, in a new candid discussion.

However, The Dark Knight actor, 68, admitted that he will sometimes 'stumble' on occasion and discuss the Pretty Woman actress, 56, and his daughter Emma, 33 - who recently claimed nepotism has caused her to lose work.

During an appearance on Monday's episode of the Still Here Hollywood podcast, host Steve Kmetko directed the conversation to Eric's Oscar-winning sibling.

In response, Roberts said, 'You'll have to ask her. I love my sister, but I can't talk about her. She doesn't wanna talk about it.'

He then added, 'My daughter told me also not to talk about her, but I stumble and do. I'm not supposed to talk about either of them. But I do.'

Julia has appeared in a number of projects throughout the decades - similar to her brother - such as Notting Hill (1999), Erin Brockovich (2000) and also My Best Friend's Wedding (1997).

Eric's daughter Emma - whom he shares with ex Kelly Cunningham - has also followed in her father's acting footsteps to pursue her passion for working in the entertainment industry.

In 2001, the mother-of-one notably made her acting debut in the film Blow and gained recognition by starring in the Nickelodeon series, Unfabulous, from 2004 through 2007.

Emma later took on roles in other projects such as Nancy Drew (2007), Wild Child (2008), anthology series American Horror Story since 2013, Scream Queens (2015-2016), and Madame Web (2024).

Eric himself is no stranger to taking on a variety of roles over the years, and currently has over a whopping total of 800 acting credits, according to the star's IMDB page.

Back in 2022, he previously discussed his relationship with Julia on the Behind The Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast and touched on the topic of a rumored years-long rift between the pair.

'Julia and I have always been fine,' he said.

'I think years and years ago, I was doing a press tour for some movie… It was just when Pretty Woman just got released and so they're asking a bunch of questions about Julia. And I said, "Hey, excuse me. Can we talk about me?"'

However, Eric explained that his comment misinterpreted and added, 'Of course, then it's like, "Oh, they have a problem."'

While the siblings 'don't agree about a lot of things,' the actor explained that they still have a close bond.

'I love knowing my sister. She's a cool chick, my sister. I just stay out of her hair with the press. That's all. Simple. And she stays out of mine.'

Elsewhere in Monday's podcast episode, the Runaway Train actor gushed about his daughter's career.

'I am in love with my daughter's work these days like I can't, I can't believe how great she's become,' he stated. 'I'm so proud of her I can't see straight.

'Since her performance in Maybe I Do until right now, she overwhelms me with pride and just, "Oh my God. Here she goes again." And I'm just so happy to be her dad because she's kicking a**, and I'm so proud.'

When asked if his own status in the industry helped Emma advance in her career, Eric replied, 'Absolutely nothing. Except I gave her that name.'

During a recent interview for Flaunt magazine, the Scream Queens actress claimed that nepotism has not only caused her to lose work in the industry, but also revealed that she has 'never gotten a job' because of it.

'I've lost more jobs than I've gained from being in the business,' she admitted to the outlet. 'People have opinions and sometimes maybe they're not good opinions of people in your family.'

'I've never gotten a job because of it, I know I definitely have lost a couple of jobs because of it.'

In December 2022, New York Magazine notably published a cover that contained a number of celebrity's faces pasted onto babies' bodies while the publication analyzed Hollywood nepotism.

However, Emma was notably not included on the cover. 'Should I be offended?' she jokingly asked Flaunt.

She continued, 'It was a cheap shot to put all the celebrity kids on the cover of a magazine on babies' bodies.

'It's like maybe the "Nepo Baby" conversation would've been a more interesting article written intelligently in Vanity Fair with nuance, but instead, it was kind of this viral hating-on-people thing.'

Last month in June, Roberts further reflected on nepotism during an appearance on the Table For Two With Bruce Bozzi podcast.

On the episode, the beauty explained that there are 'two sides of the coin when it comes to the nepo babies discourse and many are bound to "have preconceived notions of you."'

'People like to say, "Oh, you know, you have a leg up because you're a family in the industry." But then the other side to that is, you know, you have to prove yourself more.'

'Also, if people don't have good experience being to be with other people in your family, then you'll never get a chance,' the American Horror Story actress stated.

She added that 'everybody loves the kind of overnight success story' but if 'you're not the girl from the middle of nowhere that broke into Hollywood,' then there is an 'eye roll of like, "Well, your dad was this.""

'I always joke I'm like, "Why is no one calling out George Clooney for being a nepo baby?" [His aunt] Rosemary Clooney was an icon. Young girls, I feel like, get it harder with the nepo baby thing.'

Roberts continued, 'I don't really see people calling out you know, sons of famous actors. Not that they should be called that. I don't think anyone should be called out wanting to follow their dreams.'
